I mean, seriously, do we need more trolls in here? Fox news is not a real news station. They're hell bent on distorting facts and manipulating their audience into supporting a pretty evil agenda... Does CCP really want to be associated with that? Do we really want to concentrate the user base on the kinds of people that are into that?

Eve ads are constantly appearing on foxnews. It's not just a random rotating ad thing. I suspect they either have a contract with fox directly, or with some ad retailer that deals heavily with fox.

I mean, without fox news we very possibly would not have gone to war with Iraq. Fox News viewers are four times as likely as NPR listeners to have thought that we found conclusive proof that ****** was funding Al Queda. 80% of their viewers thought that, according the the U of Maryland study, despite there never having been any evidence to support that conclusion... Why? Because Fox said that all the time...

I just go there periodically to check out what malfeasence they're up to today :)

Its adsense which chooses what adverts you see depending upon your browsing history. So you see Eve advert there as you frequently visit eve related sites, and you see the colon cleanse stuff advert there because..... well I wont go on.

Go to a library or somewhere else you can find a public computer and go to Fox news, you will notice that you don't see any Eve adverts there "there is a chance but very unlikley". It is showing you those ads because you play eve, basically.

Im sure the colon cleanse is part of 'as seen on these newschannels' and cnn is probably affiliated with one or two of them under their parent companies.

What happens when there is only one opinion left? that there is called facts no matter how untruthful it is. There are many out there paraniod of a second opinion. I would rather have a second opinion than forced fed news from only one outlet thank you, and if you're so adamant against fox why are you going to that website, cant really troll there either. Unlike hating halo and going to a gamewebsite and rise hell there about it.

Although targetting ads to people who already spend a lot of time on the Eve site probably isn't the cleverest marketting strategy in the world.

unfourtuantly your own browsing history is betraying you in this manner, eve just contracts a company that looks though your browsing history to advertise.

Nah, having multiple perspectives is great. There are tons of legitimate, honest, news sources from the conservative side. For example the wall street journal or the economist meet anybody's definition of journalistic integrity. But Fox flat out distorts facts and sometimes even presents false information... That's a whole different deal.

Yeah I definitely did. I read lots of conservative papers and magazines and sites. I even read fox some. I do think it's crucial to get the perspective opposite to your own. I just also think fact checking and integrity are important. The WSJ, which I read regularly is at least as conservative as Fox. But before they present a single fact, they make 100% sure it's accurate, 100% sure it's not a misrepresentation, and if it could be misleading in any way, they explain that side of it before they go on to giving their perspective. Not so with fox.

I also read studies about their relative accuracy and the misconceptions they engender. Check this out if you're a fox facn http://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/articles/international_security_bt/102.php

ALL mainstream news websites should be avoided. Money is wasted on people who foolishly fall for the false left-right paradigm that FOX news, CNN, CNBC, and MSNBC are a part of.

Advertise on lewrockwell, infowars, antiwar... better people who would understand EvE's free market and adapt better.

CNN/MSNBC nexus will bring us people who think they are entitled to more ISK, and ask for things like a reset of all skill to level the playing field, higher taxes on older players, and other "share the misery" ideals that haunt American politics.

The FOX news channel will bring more people who will gank you preemptively, on bad intelligence, and then justify it later by stating that high sec is still safe because of it. They will also run a corporations coffers dry on war spending without any exit strategy.

They will all suck at this game.

I know I shouldn't really respond to this....but I've had a few beers now....and I feel like poking a stick at the troll.

Fox is no better or worse than CNN or MSNBC. All of them pander to a specific political view/ideology. CNN viewers watch FOX and vice versa for the same reason straight laced people listened to Howard Stern back in the 90's....to get an angry buzz on. Fox distorts facts while CNN simply chooses which parts of a particular story to focus on. Neither source is complete.

 Now...as for our OP.
If you are the type of MENSA candidate that the liberals have been drawing for support over the past 10 years, it's no wonder that the Dems won the election by as small a margin as they did. It should have been a landslide. It should have been like the Reagan/Mondale election. All it should have take for a Democrat to be elected in the last election was to not be a Republican!

Bright boy, CCP does not have a contract or agreement with Fox, CNN, Food Network, Lifetime or our Dark Lord Satan. It's part of the Adsense tracking algorithm that displays the advertisement. I wouldn't expect that invite to Phi Beta Kappa to arrive anytime soon.

That's probably true and a keen observation. But, you have to admit, distorting facts is worse than omission. Besides, even if it's not, Fox omits AND distorts. Read that study I posted a link to if you get a chance. I'd recommend listening to NPR, watching Frontline, READING, etc, way above CNN. CNN is a categorical step above Fox on the integrity ladder, but yeah, they still omit stuff. Getting your news from a variety of sources is really the best. But Fox is the lowest of the low in terms of fact checking standards.

Sport...You are obviously missing the point.

 1. Quit trying to come off sounding like some politically savvy guru. The simple fact that you come out saying inflammatory and emotional words such as "evil" erodes any credibility you may have. It also makes you come off as some jackhole kid that regurgitates the same mindless garbage over and over again. IE. Any reference to a study can be countered in short order by a slew of studies pointing to the opposite view. If you haven't figured this out by now, studies have a tendency to be "focused" in their nature. If you're looking for something in particular, and you set up your variables a certain way, you will create a self-fulfilling event.

 2. CCP is a company. Even if they had a contract with media outlets such as FOX, do you seriously think that your comments would have an impact on them. They would gamble that your desire to play with pixelated internet spaceships while letting relationships and personal hygiene go to hell would outweight the need to quit.....I personally would hop the bet and parlay it.

 3. An individual that can't figure out something as simple as Adsense really doesn't have a whole lot to say to the public at large that is going to be taken too seriously.

Sheesh... I tried to be complimentary, but you just got more agro... Whatever this fight is you are having with intellectual elitists, when you sober up, you'll see it doesn't involve me. Still a good point about focus vs distortion you made tho.

Text is a bad conveyor of tones and gestures we take for granted off the internet, alas sarcasm is widely amissed and joking manners aside a not so careful selection of words can easily place you well off the original intention.

The first post sadly makes you look more rabid than I do or the news outlet you're trying to discredit.

You're an idiot. The rest of what you say is pretty spot on, except for this tidbit of idiocy.

That's like saying all political parties are the same because they're all political parties. Hurf blurf, Einstein.

The thread is going way off-topic.
 Hence the lock.
