I just had a very unpleasant experience with a person named [07:48:01] laemb0rt > that way i'd never be able to joing a corp to grief!! It is spelled with an zero not an o as in orange.
I had caught one person before they got into my corp trying to do this but this time I had no way to check api code as the character was less then three days old. Thus I had no way of knowing the skill traininng that had been done.
We are a corp that loves to help new people started in the game...And thus when joining we after asking many questions were convinced he was a noob and wanted to join and learn the game ( the guy was good i'll give him that much)
Well he joined fleet came in as a destroyer to supposedly guard and then proceded to nuke two hulks in two different belts.. Now were talking people that just got into hulks.. NOT 4 year pros that got stuff on to keep from getting ganked..
After blowing them up and a retriever he refused to dock and you cant kick somebody out while they are in space.
aemb0rt > to do* laemb0rt > i don't know how they'd fix it though.. laemb0rt > I know! PuncherDavis > SIMPLE laemb0rt > NO MORE CORPS! laemb0rt > that way i'd never be able to joing a corp to grief!!
The moral to the story was the petition..7 of us petitioned him for griefing since we had no way to agree or not agree to combat.. If he never docked then we could never kick him thus putting us in the screwed pooch scenario.
I kid you not NO LESS then 3 minutes and he was out on his ASS booted by the GM Kaliastra.
Word to the wise.. Never let anybody less then three days old in.. That way you can secure their api key and see what they have trained. This guy told us it took all of 8 hours of training to get a destroyer that could kill a hulk.. NEWB hulk mind you but none the less.
CCP please GIVE an option in corp to ACCEPT OR NOT ACCEPT attacks from a fellow corp mate.. Not hard to do a single box popup and if you want to fight go at it.. THis in and of itself would render the whole matter done with.
Yeah I know the flaming will begin but whatever..if it was your ship that got toasted by a corp mate and you thought he was a buddy..you would be ****ed as well

What if they're 4 days old. That means they passed the background check and are ganker free?. Excellent logic.

The only reason he got kicked out was because he already had no rights and he was "exploiting" a weakness in the system (not being able to be kicked out unless docked). If he would have gotten any rights (even a "look in corp hangar" one, or "junior accountant") before he started ganking you, there would have been nothing a GM could/should/would have done for 24 hours.

IM not saying that at 4 days it would have been any better then 3 days.
ALso yes I dont give out hanger rights...People got hangers and cans and everything else..They can sort that stuff out in that hanger.
And thus in this case it worked to my advantage.

Because a 3 day old character is capable of creating unimaginable havoc, killing your missions runners left and right. It's like 3 day old characters are on pcp or something, they're THAT dangerous. Anyone in a hulk should have decent drone skills, if they didn't have that or weren't paying attention to their mining then they are at fault.
Tbh, the fact that a GM atually kicked him out is apalling to me, you agreed to let him in even though you didn't/couldn't do a 'background check' (as if that would have helped) and then you agreed to let him join an OP.
The only reason he should have been kicked if he stayed in space on purpose denying you the ability to boot him. But, as I see it, 'on purpose' doesn't mean 'being in space right now', more of a 'hasn't docked in 3 days and is being supplied with ammo while not docking'. Quick check on the character reveals he's been in your corp for... 3 hours. That GM needs a *******ing.
I'm sorry for your losses but with the disregard of safety and security you seem to have you only have yourself to blame.

DID YOU NOT READ THE THEY ARE NEW PLAYERS IN HULKS PART..please your troll is pathetic..
Tell me how often you pay attention to a corp mate that says he is thier to kill rats. Then before you know it he is opening fire on you and has you warped and scrammed. Screaming for help works but a destroyer puts out decent damage for what it is.

You dont get it..They guy in chat logs had stated that he was greifing..please read the full post.. ALso I bet the GM looked at the guys kill mails..Thus seeing he was doing nothing but griefing his fellow corp mates.

This is the lame answer from somebody that has no clue.. The corp system as is can be abused and used to grief players..Do you like being griefed..IM sure you dont like anybody else.
Also read this before bantering on about something you dont seem to be understanding the concept of.
http://support.eve-online.com/Pages/KB/Article.aspx?id=336 Frequently Asked Questions Grief play What is grief play? Griefing A grief player, or "griefer," is a player who devotes much of his time to making othersÆ lives miserable, in a large part deriving his enjoyment of the game from these activities while he does not profit from it in any way. Grief tactics are the mechanics a griefer will utilize to antagonize other players.
This should not be confused with standard conflict that might arise between two players. At our discretion, players who are found to be consistently maliciously interfering with the game experience for others may receive a warning, temporary suspension or permanent banning of his account.
An example of grief play would be the so called "Can baiting" in starter systems. An experienced player drops a cargo container with some items in front of a station in a starter system and waits for a new player to take from it. The new player is flagged and promptly attacked and killed by the owner of the container. Doing the same in starter tutorial complexes is also considered grief play and will not be tolerated.
That was the other reason he got booted..Cant quote the GM but trust me that was included.

Right so tell me how you pod a player that is warping around in a system setting bookmarks and wont stop or fight...Now lets try this again..HOW do I pod somebody I cant target see or find..And were getting closer with scanners and probes but he keeps moving around..
I can think of a lot better ways to spend my time then having to do that because of an abused game mechanic

You should probably quit Eve right now if your whole corp got owned by a three day old alt. I mean seriously. Only bad thing in this story is GMs rushing to save you from your own stupidity.

Dude, you used a retriever to bait me. I attack him, he points me, you and three other dudes jump into the system. One of you was in an absolution and the other two were in ruptures. You decloaked AND WATCHED ME FOR TEN SECONDS THEN WARPED AWAY. I spent another twenty seconds killing the retriever, then I warped off. You ran from a destroyer when you had a command ship and two cruisers.

THanks for posting with an alt..to chicken to post with a main..also you were griefing..By the definition of it and what it means..And by your own words.
So nothing you say is going to change anything you did..And the fact that the Gm agreed that is what you were doing and kicked you from corp.
Now ccp just needs to fix the system so that this can be avoided and the griefing stopped

Haha whoops wrong account. No, I was kicked out of corp for not docking to let you kick me. The only reason I stayed in space is because one of your buddies said he was coming to fight me.

No you didnt dock because you knew Id drop kick you out of corp as soon as you did.. We may be a bit to trusting but knowing how to avoid the kick is an old trick.
Also they reviewed and found out what and who you had killed and asked me to show them everything that had happened. I went through the list of events. SO you even admitted you were griefing. Also they checked chat logs. So that all added up to you get kicked.
You were griefing. Goons are known for it you cant denie it and even admitted you abused it because you would and could..Also stating that you had been doing for awhile makes it even more plain for all to see that something needs to be fixed.
Thanks for posting with your main.
Now tell me again that Goons does not sanction this or encourage it?

this is only problem I saw with this situation... saw someone in help channel today trying to find out how to kick someone doing this.
Nothing wrong with it happening in the present but I think it's rather unbalance and should be fixed in the future. there should be some sort of trial role that means they can't run around blasting corp members.... shouldn't have to put yourself at this much risk to have someone join your corp. ------------------------------

If by laughing you mean told you corp members to block me, tried to kill me only to fail miserably, then jumping into the system I was in to yell and curse at me in incoherent AIM speak after I was kicked out then yeah you're right. Laugh away. I am.

It isn't, but the GM intervention happened because he didn't dock, so he couldn't get the kick.
If he had docked so that he could be kicked then all would be well.
Also I think only 1 corp member was killed.
People can join corps just to grief those members if they want to, that's all fine. Some people would hunt that person down, others would decide it's a waste of their time and just kick the person. I'm trying to derail the thread.
