Very close to my fit. Tho I use a backup array most of the time now, not 4 BCU. I no not enjoy ECM :). And I use T1 MWD, no need to use more isk then I need to :P --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This. The torp Raven is arguably the best close-range gank battleship, only the Armageddon can even come close.
As for a setup, the one AstroPhobic posted is the correct setup. Just be warned, it requires AWU V to fit, without that skill you'll have to use a named MWD and either drop a BCU for a PDU or downgrade one or both of the neuts to small neuts. ==========

EFT is nice to figure out if you want to fit this or that for some particular purpose or to find out if you can fit 4 BCU's or can only do 3. It is not a good tool if you have not actually fitted ship for that pupose in the past and are just after uber numbers.
To be more precise I would suggest not using COSMOS hardeners for pvp. They are not cost effective for that. I would also suggest using eve-search.

Do you notice huge improvement by using 4 BCU? I generally like 3 BCU and something else in the last one. My eft will give me 50 more dps by a 4th BCU, and that is nice enough, just wondering if its worth it over say a backup array as mentioned earlier (should give more resistance to ECM drones) or even better targeting speed.
2 painters seem nice enough, I have generally used only 1, and more tank (or a 24km point), but I see how 2 TP would kick ass against cruiser sized stuff (often fighting other BS, not as much smaller stuff) .

A tad less dps, but more ECM strenght (also makes room for T2 painters). A proper ECM ship will jam you anyways tho, but I dunno, seems like I get a tad less jammed. T2 MWD fits as well, but meh, T1 does the job anyways.
The 4 BCU one will kick more ass when its fiering tho, so I guess its based on what you expect to meet in comabt, and latly there have been lots fo ECM where I usually fight :). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why not one heavy neut instead of two mediums (not sure if one med and one heavy fit)? I thought range matters most in neut business? Because of 24km point range for instance. Also torp range would be almost equal.
I'm interested in your tactics using this two mediums - which are certainly better against more than one frig and/or if they are equipped with nos or cap booster because of shorter cycles of medium neuts.

That makes no sense, but I get your point. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about...I can only say that after living in different 0.0 areas over a period of 18 months I haven't seen a Raven used effectively for anyhting other than POS bashing.
Don't get me wrong. I like my Raven, but I'd never undock it to engage a competant gang of reds. |

I'm in the 'exotic land' of Montreal Canada so I don't have EFT on this computer - but can a heavy neut be fit with an RCU II + quad Lif MWD?
Why the emphasis on t2 mwd's when they burn out faster? If its cap savings I'd still go with the quad-lif.
If the heavy cant be fit with a T2 RCU II - Id just leave the utilities empty and space the launchers 2x - empty - 2x - empty - 2x to be able to overheat them longer.
Id use a low slot eccm to deal with ecm drones instead of a 4th bcs II. A PDU II might be better too for the extra buffer.

The 5.9% or rounding to 6% is the correct number.
As to whether 3 or 4 BCU's is better I would think that in pvp 3 would be better since you can prolly add something better in that last spot that would increase your survivability better than 6% dps would. In pve though go for that 4th BCU all the way.

To perfect any PvP Raven (or most any missile ship) nowadays merely add three other gang members with webs, painters and tackle.
