the Uk is a fully fledged member of the EU, its the european currency we're not part of. The EU created a directive (immediate effect, affects everyone) that electronic services need to be taxed at local rate. As CCP can't/won't check what state each EU citizen is from they have to charge the highest, which is (AFAIK) the Swiss rate of around 19%
and before everyone complains that 'xxxx' other MMORPG hasnt increased their prices then they are probably either ignorant of the directive, breaking the law or absorbing the cost

Switzerland isn't part of the EU so I doubt that's where the 19% is coming from. Not sure though.

I know here in the US where I live there aren't any internet fees, taxes, VAT or anything like that.
I'm wondering if any EU people can list what extra "fees" and "taxes" and "VAT" you pay on internet transactions? I'm honestly curious.
The base cost for US and EU should be equal. The fees and taxes are on top of that and out of CCP's control but the "base" should be the same.
Is it?

CCP and every other vendor should charge a fair price for their product and that price should be uniform across the board. If you have have taxes and fees you have to pay on top of that that is something you should take up with your governments not CCP.
