I should have checked for a orange blip so it was also my fault.

Wow Ziona sure loves to complain about other people. Last time she was ticked off because the guy she was ore theiving from didn't have the decency tell her off in local. Now she's off because someone just happened to be better at scamming than she is.
Frankly, when one's primary means of income is the theiving of ore from NPC corp players in Empire space, panning *anyone* for avoiding accountability is the absolute height of hypocrisy. Physician heal thyself?

I'm not complaining at all. If anything I feel sorry for people who have to manipulate game mechanics to such as extent.
And your memory is a little short or perhaps your just not very with it but that old post I made was not about somebody not yelling at me in local, it was about this guy running 12 accounts at the same time and the possiblity he was macroing. Which he most definitely was imo.
I dislike dishonesty in RL, something which you have displayed in your previous post.

I thought what Ziona described was officially classed as an exploit - which isn't the same thing as being a scammer or an ore thief (regardless of how distasteful those are). Cheating and being an (ingame) POS are two entirely different things.

MMOG Alts the biggest problem with the genre atm, someday there will be select games that allow only 1 character per IP address, and having more than 1 per person will be considered an exploit. I'm not saying everyone will want this, but there is a solid market for this out there, and someone will appeal to it. I can't wait.

Have fun with the other 5.000 players who don't want to have 3 accounts to get more value for their time.

No, we disproved that theory in the thread I am reffering to. Yes, if you can run six accounts simultaniously, then you are permitted to do so.
She, however, wasn't satisfied with that, so instead of petitioning, she tried to hold a forum lynching for the guy.
Ziona, read your own post. You accused him of macroing because he didn't start immediately cursing you out on local once you started raiding his ore cans, and instead of petitioning it, you attempted to try him on the forums for it.

Originally by: Rod Blaine Well Mr Grim, I guess you were out when nature called to deliver your brain.
Let me explain the concept of a few of the alts I named for digestion by your slightly impaired comprehensive abilities:
The wallet alts and bpo alts are typically used in paranoid corporations that want to use them as a workaround to increase security with regard to corp posessions. It makes it possible to give a great many people access to the corp hangar but store the really valuable stuff on an alt on an account accessible only by a few people. I agree it's not a real improvement in most cases but still this method is pretty widely used in Eve.
this can be done without alts...
Originally by: Rod The ceo alt is there because ceo skills are based on the charisma attribute. When you would like a main character with 4 charisma you dont want to loose a week of training empire control on it when you can just make a 15-charisma alt instead. Again, discutable method but no reason to dispose of this alt type at all imo.
you wanted a reason? how about "lame" ? s'that good enough for ya? works for me...
Originally by: Rod Last alt I'll explain is the roleplay alt. Say I like to engage in roleplay once in a while. So I make an alt that is amarr and likes to write roleplay stories for PIE. However, my main char is already gallente, which would kinda make things suck if i couldn't make alts since sucking is about the extent of what Gallente can roleplay in this game.
well, i can't really dispute this one. but, if you wanted to roleplay, then why not just pick the amarr character offhand? oh, you're probably gonna say something about skills vs. attributes, vs. better stuff... and i'll give you my reason again: lame...
Originally by: Rod Now, mr knowall judgefast, think again why alts are the biggest mistake ccp ever made after they gave you an account and explain that to me in actual arguments please.
- because they are way too easily exploited.
- no accountability for actions.
- they don't give out three social security numbers or drivers licences... or do they!?
there is a fine, but dissasterous line between a fart and a shart. i suggest you make sure which side you want to be on... |

Blah Blah Blah. Get your facts straight please. I asked him if he was macroing and I asked this because of the TWELVE ships (not six) in the operation, not one said anything when I stole multiple loads of ore.
Now originally this guy claimed to be mining with friends, then he claimed he owned an internet cafe and was running all 12 accounts on the one PC.
He was a macroer, and not too bright either. If he doesn't like me calling him out on the forums then he can quit macroing. Simple and Easy.
The way your defending this guy, your either friends, him or you support macroing and ebaying. Either way that makes you a ****

Agreed, if its the only thing i agree on with flummox.
There are definite uses for alts that are not shorcuts on game mechanics (acceptable ones or not is another discussion but i'm talking about ore thief alts as well as for example ceo skill alts when i say shorcuts on game mechanics).
Wether you despise the non-acceptable ones enough to dispose of the accepted uses for alts is one thing, but there's the problem of alts being part of the game balance as we know it and another problem is all the people with trained alts who for reasons of their own would not like them to be linked thru acountability.
I have alts with over 1 million skillpoints. Do I want them linked and accountable ? NO Are any of them engaged in uses you would not approve of ? None of them are.
If the problems alts present are so huge, there are other ways of dealing with it. Scamming for one is not solvable, in universe with 20000 different inhabitants scammer will always find uninformed people to scam. Thinkig accountability will be the solution to it all is imo shortsighted. Wait for shiva and see which problems still remain after it.
