DUST-514 ONLY ON CONSOLE???

Eclorc	Posted - 2009.08.18 20:50:00 - [1] For a long time ambulation has been promised to the paying subscribers and fans of this game. Many have expressed the hope that such feature would eventually lead onto planet and/or station-side interaction and combat, integrated with the Eve space universe, however all threads that I read were ultimately willing to wait it out and watch it grow in small steps. I find it almost impossible to believe that CCP will make this only for consoles, not only will it cut a very large part of the manpower out of the fight, but it also lets the whole current subscriber base down very very badly indeed. By the nature of Eve the game retains patient folks willing to wait for reward, but has the wait been for nothing? I do not operate a console, nor will I when so much time, effort and money was invested in my PC systems, which still are not fully utilised by the EVE game as-is I might add. I WISH TO CALL FOR A DEFINITIVE STATEMENT FROM CCP REGARDING THIS. Will the new Dust-514 side of the EVE universe be available at launch to their customers on the PC platform? Or if not, then WHY not? Should I just give up right now in disgust? btw IF I DO cancel my sub then my stuff's already got homes waiting.

I have encountered a good number of players in Eve, that run missions a heck of a lot, and while they run a mission in a window on one monitor or PC, they also play another game like CoD or MoH or a similar shooter game in another window on their second monitor. So they are semi-afk doing the mission while shooting the heck out of the bunnyhopping kiddies in an FPS. BOTH activities being done on a PC. At the same time. Surely those players would more than welcome the opportunity to play an FPS on their second monitor that could be of benefit to their actual EvE gaming too? Please think on that CPP.

They have never said they wouldn't. Actually, I think they hinted that it is very "probable". Only time will tell. Be careful not to trip and fall while you are jumping to conclusions here. You may fall flat on your face.

One of these games will be the WoW killer and the biggest and largest of such games will be played on PC. This will attract console playesr and noobs alike to the PC just like WoW did. What will CCP do when all the console gamers take off their training wheels to play the latest and greatest MMOFPS's on PC? Who on an aging console is going to want to play some sci fi shooter no ones heard of for some mmo no ones heard of about some end game pov stuff no one knows about that costs $15 a month? Not many Im betting. But on the bright side it will get lots of eve nerds to buy consoles. Thats about all the new market CCP will be getting as the ones they wanted will be moving to PC to play REAL mmofps's, like they did with WoW.

In turn MS will probably invest in the development in some way, perhaps. After a while[tm] it will be released for PC as well.

How they expect the mature eve player which can sit at a gate for 24 hours to camp in targets in a dead end system. or POS warfare which can take hours and month long campaigns to take over a region....
