Insiders have uncovered a devious plot by the JQA alliance to make YOU pay thier high prices for zyd.
"Just as a side note, I NEVER sell zyd for less than 4K. If the market isn't buying at my prices, then tought luck, I'll wait. If I'm really desperate for money I might be forced to sell a minimum amount at current market price, but I do try to keep prices above 4K. Currently I have sell orders out at 4.2K and 4.3K.
The reason the prices is falling is because too many people are too impatient with selling their minerals. They place their mins below the current lowest sell order so that their order will be fullfilled first. If JQA people would all set their main sell orders at a fixed price (I'd suggest 4.2K for now) and only sell small, emergency amounts at lower prices, we SHOULD be able to press the prices back up.
As Arth states, we ARE the biggest suppliers of zyd as far as I know. No other alliance has such a rich supply of zyd ore in the same system as a refining station. Most alliances have to haul their ore 5-15 jumps to get it refined, thus we are producing ALOT more zyd than other alliances, simply due to our efficient production methods. Whoever controls the systems we are in, can control the rest of the EvE Universe" ....Chris Reed

bullthis...
remember the time when miner II's were sold for 5 mills...
I take pride in having been able to push that price down... it was WAY over anything called ethical trading practices.
Supply and demand isnt what its all about - its about ethics as well - but true... supply and demand play a higher role.
Ethics play a higher role when you have a monopoly (like with the miner II's) - in the zyd case... there is no monopoly.
Its supply and demand. ...new sig coming up Ravenal - Fate is what you make of it. |

There is nothing devious about attempting to get the best possible price for your primary source of income. However there is something inherently devious about deliberately deceiving the owners of a private forum in order to gain access to non-public information.
Originally by: "Mahrai Ziller" Oh, they never lie. They dissemble, evade, prevaricate, confound, confuse, distract, obscure, subtly misrepresent and wilfully misunderstand with what often appears to be a positively gleeful relish and are perfectly capable of contriving to give one an utterly unambiguous impression of their future course of action while in fact intending to do exactly the opposite, but they never lie. Perish the thought.

Raise the mineral prices so loosing a ship means something rather than when you loose a ship you only think ohh well the insurence covers most of it...

Correction, there are 2 more systems that i know have a Refinery in the same system. There are numerous systems with Crokite 1 jump from a refinery (Even 1 jump into empire space).
Once Concord allows the deployment of starbases this will change even further.
JQA has no grip on the prices what so ever. ---------------------------

they have roughly 5 systems with npc refining stations and loads of crok in each system, they have the richest source of crok in all of the universe Order out of Chaos |

The price of Zyd and Mega will fall as more people move into 0.0 space. And the less people mine in the hub region, the higher the value of common ores. 5 Months ago, most people were buying Trit for only 1.2 or so. Today, you can sell it easy for 1.8 to 2.0 or more to people doing regional buys. Or if you don't mind multiple trips, you can almost always sell for over 2.0 these days. I seriously doubt its a plot by anyone to lower prices. Just a trend, I think Zyd and Mega will go back up in value come Shiva release. More and more people will spend time mining more of a variety of minerals due to upkeep of player owned stations and such.
On another note, this seems to be a good place to post this. People do really need to put a bit more thought into the selling price of an item. The market atm is getting stupid. Most items are now getting sold at lower than mineral value to build. People need to figure out how much they can sell the minerals used in a build and figure out a price from there. My biggest question is, whats the point to producing items and putting on the market for less than the value of the minerals, when you can instead just go sell the minerals and make more profit, plus sell them faster than the items would on the market.

The more people who lower their prices, means that more people go bank rupt, which means less fighters who can afford to insure their battleships, which means less fighting, and down the sink we go!
Alternatively the people selling less than market value, go bank rupt and prices start to rise again |
