My map is broken, as is my remote viewing of other ships
when looking at another ship and rotating the view, from a certain angle the view "skips", turns upside down and a black right triangle that covers the bottom of the screen, from the bottom left corner to the top right corner of the screen
also my map is upside down and the same triangle appears
if you don't fix it I'm gonna quit the game

Originally by: Val Erian Just experienced first FW, faction warfare kill after the patch.
I did NOT receive the ship kill in my combat Log. The pod did show up.
There is no doubt, confirmed by my game log that th eship went down and I was only other person there.
We have found the cause and determined this only affects the first factional warfare kill on each node. We have an internal fix ready for testing and we will deploy it as soon as possible. The fix makes sure that kill / lost entries are properly recorded in all cases. The issue is a special edge case where in certain rare circumstances the kill is not recorded.

This is by design. You can only compress from the cargo hold, but not from the corp hangar or the ore bay.

Scanprobe graphics have been reworked but a proposed (in Bureport 80369) fix has not been implemented. The probe control elements in low quality shader mode does not have any lighting/contrast and its still VERY had to see expecially on blueish backgrounds. I updated the bugreport accordingly but thought its a good idea to post here too.

Resistances seem to have changed - on my onyx with one invulnerability and one EM tech II active resists my Shield resists are down to:
79,91,87,78 from a pre-patch of 81,92,88,79
I only have Extender rigs on, not resist rigs, there is nothing else affecting my shield resist apart from those two mods. I'm down a total 7k EHP.
Can others confirm this? is it a stacking bug? something changed somewhere?

Expected behavior. Previously you received both the ACTIVE and PASSIVE resistance bonuses from your shield hardeners; now you are only receiving the active bonus, as was intended.

Originally by: SrA JTS I must just be extremely lucky then, because I'm running two separate computers that ran the old patch like champs. However yesterday, both computers (one XP x64 and the other XP x32 - updated with the most recent updates/drivers before CCP's wonderful new patch) dazzled me with every Windows user's best friend, BSOD... Can I get a woo woo !!
Coincidence you say! Well perhaps, but let's examine this: Both computers (XP x64 and XP x32) were running superbly before CCP's stunning demonstration of "how to deploy a patch right, the first time!"
Now, the only thing that changed was the new patch.
So if everything was running hunky dory before CCP made changes, and if after applying CCP's new patch I was treated to the visual ecstasy which is BSOD, common sense would say that, most likely, the thing that changed was at fault.
Now I know, I have a better chance of hitting the Lotto than getting CCP to admit their code corrupted my OS on two separate, unrelated computers. Heck, I'll even admit that two BSODs on two different computers, running two different versions of XP may well have been coincidence... that is sure one heck of a long shot though.
I'm feeling lucky, think I'll play the Lotto
Even after taking the time to back up all my sensitive data, I'm a bit concerned that the cause of my BSOD on two different computers, on two different versions of XP was the CCP patch.
If EVE kills my hard drives, it's really gonna suck having to install two OSs from scratch
Damn you CCP and your action packed, amphetamine fueled visual orgy of a game... EVE !!
Common sense says that you didn't change anything that you are AWARE of, the chance that you changed something you are not aware of and this caused the problem, is more likely.
Also, when you say patched up to date, how exactly, all WHQL certified drivers, or manufacturer drivers or what? There is a difference and "fully patched up to date" is just a PEBCAK way of saying "i clicked yes to every pop up that said it wanted to update something, and I didn't notice the malware that i gave permission to run with admin permissions".
There are literally tens of thousands of different things which can cause windows to bluescreen, from hardware issues, software, driver issues, even those of us who support PC's for a living get the occaisonal BSoD that can't be explained, sometimes windows is just tempermental. To sit there and say that CCP have screwed up your PC though, when 99% of eve users have patched with zero problems, is simply stupid. I know you don't want to hear this, but theres a problem with YOUR COMPUTER, not with the patch.

Thank you for letting us know, we will investigate.
To give further info on this, this is most noticeable if you use the scroll bar on the right of the window to scroll up/down. Using the scroll wheel on the mouse only displaces the icon slightly.
On a related note, the mouse issue I mentioned seems to have been fixed during yesterday's downtime, as it is no longer present. Thanks for that! |

Edited by: Tohmu Blackwing on 23/08/2009 14:15:01 I haven't been in EVE much lately, but I have two problems since the patch:
1) I installed the patch but one of my clients (I have 2 installed) will not get past the authenticate step of the login. The game freezes, requiring me to use the control panel to end the process. (Win XP)
2) Ok, this is a bit anal, but did the sort order for the items hangar change? This game makes it hard enough to keep track of your inventory (hello generic icons and no sorting of items in your hangar) as it is, so I use station cans to order my inventory. I set up a logical grouping of my assets and to keep the cans appearing at the top of my inventory, in the order that I wanted, I used numbers at the beginning of each can name.
Example:
1 Missiles 2 Hybrid Ammo ...
Well, I have over 20 cans numbered and named this way. And now they are ordered as follows:
1 Missiles 11 whatever this can is 12 another one ... 19 another can 2 Hybrid Ammo
AFAIK, the sort order was working for 2 years, and now it ignores numbers and spaces. Was this intentional?
Thx
EDIT: New issue, my WORKING client now freezes up when I try to resize my ship window. I have been trying to readjust my windows since the patch to where they were before and this is the only window that has caused this problem. The game just locks up. Same as problem #1, above.
I am starting the game up with the /end LUA statement at the end of my shortcut path. This hasn't changed in a very long time for me. Just in case this is an issue.

But my control tower is still sideways in space. See pic

We have been able to re-produce the icon scrolling issue above and will fix it in a future release. As for the other issue that was mysteriously broken and then fixed: We didn't do anything.

Yes. From the patch notes: "Sorting items in the hangar will now display items of the same type (i.e. containers) correctly. Previously, the display would change order after sorting by name, then sorting by type, and sorting by name again." This was an issue introduced in Apocrypha 1.3 when we replaced the database layer of the inventory system.
The inventory system relied on an implicit order maintained by the old database layer for sorting icons in hangars, which the new database layer does not maintain. In Apocrypha 1.5 we put in an explicit alphabetical sort. For example, if you sort by type then the items of the same type are sorted alphabetically by name. You will note that '19 another can' comes before '2 Hybrid Ammo' in an alphabetical sort ('19' vs. '2 '). Rename it '02 Hybrid Ammo' and all will be fine.

Originally by: Nodaddy Notthecupboard If anyone is still struggling to get Eve installed and working since the patch here is what finally worked for me:
Download the 88737 build from Clicky
Once installed start Eve without patching and allow it to autopatch (I know the autopatcher sucks but I twice attempted and failed with the manual patch before I tried auto for this version).
Before this I had downloaded and reinstalled over 10 times using all 3 methods and 3 different versions and every time it was the same "CRC error" or "Corrupt Install" garbage that forces people to download up to 20GB in order to apply a 20MB patch every patch day.
1. Completely remove Eve from your puter. 2. Restart 3. Download the 88737 install from the above link. 4. Install 5. Start Eve and allow it to run the autopatcher. 6. Restart 7. Hopefully have fun until the next patch day.
This is what finally worked for me and hopefully it will help a few more of you.
Same problem here. Tried your solution, sadly it didnt work for me. Always the CRC eveonline error occurs when i try to run the self extractor. Also i cant view the picture of the selfextractor as an icon. Its just blank and name on the file.
pls look into this ccp. |

Hey uh... The new probing graphics are lovely... But those shadows that were the problem in the first place, that appear on the center plane of the system under the scan spheres, blocking view of any probes below them, and don't seem to have any use at all except to hinder the use of probes, are still there.
So... You didn't fix the problem, you just made everything else around the problem look shinier.

Not sure that is new? I've had a similiar problem for quite a while - where somewhere on the long trips to Jita I pick up the constant gate hum that hangs around in warp / station etc. To clear I usually hit ESC to bring up the options menu, go to the sound tab, tick off sound, tick it back on again, then exit the menu. That seems to clear it.
Thanks for the tip. I've never had this problem before but I'll try your suggestion next time.

Scanning changes didn't fix one problem and introduce a new one (at least on Mac client).
1- Center square used to move the probe occasionally disappears (old problem, not fixed)
2- Filters don't seem to be working. I'm stuck with an old filter I created for "Cosmic Anomalies" (prior to patch) and I'm not able to change it to anything else nor delete it.

Did you try rotating the view of the screen and looking from "below" the center plane? That is what I do. The probe grab arrows are much easier to see now in 1.5 in the constellation Aulari.

Hope this helps someone get back online.
