This is patch day. And a rather shaky one at that.
You run missions in an expensive ship.
Question: Are you insane?

Global ocean levels are rising not because of the ice caps melting, but rather because of the increasing amount of nerd tears collecting in this thread. Relax and put on Firefly.
Delicious nerd tears.
Pretty sure the new mining graphics haven't been implemented btw. Does "mining graphics" mean the icon for strip miners, or the graphics for the lasers when being used? Either way. Warp speed is not fast enough. We must go straight to...ludicrous speed! |

This is totally your fault. Don't do risky things immediatly after a patch.

I've had no problems with the update at all so far, except for the time it has taken and the unexpected re-boot. Logged in as soon as the server would let me in (eg when the timer to the server was up) and ratted for a hour before the unexpected reboot message came up. Logged off, went to get some dinner and back now. I have to think that only people in busy systems are being messed up.

My guess is they knew they had a bottlenec/bugk and wanted to get a load on it to catch/resolve it. They capped the max users to 9.5-10k and were able to catch the problem. They stopped the cluster, made the change and bounced the cluster.

I understand the issues that come with all patches, however i do not understand how this can happen on the main server as we all know there is a test server "should not all bugs be sorted on test server before deploying on to main server" ? also as seems the case with every patch or problem the player base has dev's ignore us until they are ready all the players are asking is to be informed how hard is it for ccp to have a dev answering the forums. as always there are those who complain and those who do not those who attack or abuse other players for shearing their opinions and those who just give up. all games come to an end often because the problems become just to great to be put up with any more or because players just get tired of being ignored or just because the game has changed to much from what it was when they first started playing it. I am sure ccp understands that for now the amount of players starting to play eve is greater than the number leaving eve and so they do not need to do anything for now but in time this will change and when it does maybe ccp will learn lessons just as all the other games out there have.

(for some reason my last post was perma truncated after that last line...)
Yes No
...after checking the url http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/mac/evepremiumpatch94168-99186-mac.tgz nothing was found.
i then tried the manual patchdownload, and still "file not found"
i would also like to note that the dialog was confusing as it was initially not large enough to see the "Would you like to visit the support page" at the bottom, rendering the meaning of the yes/no buttons ambiguous.
Is there a problem with the patch that has lead to its removal, or is this a genuine issue?
strangely the other page mentioned: Your Operating System Mac Your Build 94168Latest Build 99186File Size 45.3 MB
before linking to the same broken link.

You first. ;D Also, maybe you just buy PLEX to play this game, but others of us actually paid good money to be playing. We expect downtime to be minimal, or for lost days to be refunded. I don't think that's too much to ask, it's called good stewardship.

I still notice the engine noise after I dock in station. I don't know if this particular sound issue was reported before 1.5, but I found it very annoying. It did not always happen and I have only tested in Airaken, Moon VIII, Expert Housing now under 1.5.

Further, i just noticed, but even if i download the .tgz, the instructions state that i should open the EXE file. now those instructions are fine for the pc file which is indeed an exe, but what about in the mac case? Afaik .tgz is an archive format, so unless you included the EXE in the archive its unclear what one does with that. (it could be in the archive, in which case you should mention how to extract it properly)
Quoting for reference from the mac download page:(http://www.eveonline.com/patches/patches.asp?s=&test=&system=mac):
"Here you can download patches for manual patching, if for some reason autopatching fails.
To manually apply a patch you will need to download the patch from below and save it to a local folder. Launch the EXE file from that folder. If a file-open dialog appears then locate EVE on your hard drive.
If you experience any problems then do not hesitate to contact support on http://support.eve-online.com"
