If I want to mine in low sec (0.3 or lower) where theres 500k rats. What would you suggest as a setup?
(I dont have access to harvesters:( )

high: 7x Miner II, 1x cruise missile launcher
med: 100mn mwd, webifier, 2x cap recharger II
low: large armor repairer, 2/3 hardeners depending on rats, stuff you need to fit the above
carry a mix of heavy & med drones in the dronebay. If you stay in 0.1+ no rats would come close to kill you.
But watch out for the player pirates...

low: large armor repairer, 2/3 hardeners depending on rats, stuff you need to fit the above
carry a mix of heavy & med drones in the dronebay. If you stay in 0.1+ no rats would come close to kill you.
But watch out for the player pirates...

an alternate suggestion would be to lose the MWD and let the drones do all the work. if you're awake, your shields shouldn't pass 50%. The above armor tank will outlast quite the NPC hurt.
if player pirates are a big problem, make sure you're aligned to warp out, and fit two WCS's along with the above suggested armor tank.

Im mining right now in 0.0 with a megathron, and my setup is:
High: 7x Miner II's, 1 Siege with cruises (thermal)
Med: Roid scanner (need to follow mining rules), 2 x cap rechargers, 1 webber for frigs, so my drones can hit them better.
Low: Large Accomodation, 2xhardeners (thermal/kinetic), 2x Cap Relays, 2x cpu's
the reason im using thermal cruises and thermal/kinetic hardeners is for the Serpentis thats here. and then i try to find a belt with pretty easy rats. then kill them of except the easiest, and then chain the belt and tank the small one. serpentis are pretty much closerange so my drones(ogres) take care of them while im mining.
I also make sure that all rats are locked on me before releasing drones so rats dont kill them.
but my favourite mining ship is the raven, mine with 4 miner II's and then chain a bs at the same time, not so much ore but still some isk from the bountis and prolly some nice loot also. :)

theres something sick about that,  
though personally I've never seen anythign as big as 500k rats above 0.0... in my dominix the flight of heavy drones can generally take everything.
its not a big deal not having harves... its not too wise to use them in that range anyway.
I'd go with as they say... if your not worried about player rats, then empire(.1+) belt rat spawns are VERY easy to tank for the drones to kill.

there are no 500K rats in 0.3.
There are no rats in 0.1 and above a megathron cant easily take carte fo tanked and using drones.
