Mines are so usefull and fun to play with. WTH did you take those away from us? I can agree that using them with launchers sucked cuz you wuld get stuck in the middle of the mine field. Maybe if you could place them in a special can that has a timer. You would just fill it up with 100-500 mines and jet it in the spot you want them. After a short timer the can blows up and out pours the mines giving you time to get to a good distance. Would be alot easier than deploying them one by one. And to keep people from putting 10's of thousands of them in space just allow in can per ship or one can jetted every 1 hour or something. They dont evern have to do insane damage, i like the way they are now, just cant bloody use them :/. BRING THEM BACK!!
Lets see some 1111111's people and post your suggestions!

I'm quite sure they are already going to come back, but as a deployable anchored type thing, rather than a launched thing as they used to be.

Edited by: Valan on 15/10/2004 02:22:34 Tenacha Kahn, Tank CEO and TLBC deployed a huge minefield in Ostingele. Sanc Corp, Shades and CE attacked the camp.
After the attack we held the position. We opened up on the mines, the resulting explosions were fantastic. Nearly blew my speakers and I almost squinted as the chain reaction grew. It was an impressive display. That was the 5th of November last year.
Hope the new implementation is a little more useful, they were only useful for creating lag. Can we have some nice effects to go with them?

They were also good for ganking your sec status when you put them outside a station or gate in Empire.

mines were uses, but still fun. I want them back.
There's mention in eve lore about mines that used to home in on ships. That would be prett yneat.
My thats was dastardly. |

The devs have mentioned in a Dev-blog that they will fix mines later after shiva hits , even some hints to Ultra Violent mines that will work like deployables at POS stations.
So dont be sad , they will come back with a BANG!

I think mines are a great idea, but I think they could be easily exploited, in the same fashion as when folks used to dump hundreds of jet cans at a JIP to lag people.
The auto cloaking upon JIP would be handy, but I would worry about that problem resurfacing again.

Hope they put in a mine skill that let you set up an amount of mines. That way you can prevent 10.000 mines from 1 person and gives lag. Also so if they get in each sensor range they just attack eachother.
Minefields give defensive advantages and certainly in defending PoS. But mines should always explode even if you are in a friendly ship. No FOF mines, this would spoil the fun when you see someone not good at laying minefields blow to pieces if he tries
Oh man I'm already getting hot for mines, please give them back to us. Also cloaked mines should be fun __________________________________________________ "Time will reveal everything, but only once so be prepared." |

Yes, they're "bringing them back" as pointless **** in Shiva.
I allways found mines VERY useful on TQ, if only for psychological warfare.
