I hope I'm not jumping the gun, but I was really impressed with the first episode of the new series... (It was far better than the two feature length episodes that preceeded it).

Considering the pilot was dealing with the attempted genocide of the human race it left me pretty nonplussed. The first episode of the series however, made the persuit by the Cylons feel utterly relentless - you could really feel that everyone and everything was being stretched to it's limit. I enjoyed that one hour much more than the preceding four...
I was expecting this to be just another gung ho 'Americans in space' no-brainer. In reality, it actually seems like it's going to be worth watching!

I think you're mistaken - That 'aint Apollo stranded on Caprica, it's this guy. They do look pretty similar though!

I had similar worries, but...
All the characters have changed beyond recognition compared to the original. Starbuck (and Boomer) as a woman actually works in the new context.
