Victory to EVE University - well done.

Although if you go to the losses tab, and check out the "Involved Parties" column it pretty much tells the story. And I didn't even have to create a thread to figure it out!

Yo dawg I heard jumping an RR gang without MWDs into a hostile fleet on a regional gate was a good idea. Please resize your signature to the maximum allowed of 400 x 120 pixels with a maximum file size of 24000 bytes. Navigator |

Edited by: Commoner on 31/08/2009 13:01:55 To be honest, i think EVE University did a good job here, a gang of highly skilled RR BS can be very effective, EVE-U probably used every means at their disposal to disable that RR fleet.

Tbh It's a terrible idea to engage with those fits even if the hostiles were jumping into you. A Dominix with no sensor booster has an 8 second lock time on a BS. From the time someone gets primaried, to the time they broadcast, to the time your fleet actually reacts and manages to lock you, you're talking a best case scenario of 12 seconds, more realistically 15. With that much hostile DPS on the field and no Trimarks on any of those ships, the primary is already below 25% armor before his fleet even locks him. Factor in e-war and jumping in on a region gate (wtf, really?), and you're pretty much ****ed from the get-go.
And then there's: Hey guise, I fit zero plates on my RR BS Hey guise I fit zero resists on my RR BS Hey guise wat's a stacking penalty?(really, 5 damage mods?) Hey guise should I fit e-war on my e-war cruiser?

To be fair, if someone war-deccing EVE Uni didn't expect that, then they've got to be pretty slack
I call 'Bull****' CCP. Isn't it great that the alchemy process was introduced & can 'take up the slack?' |

Most of the fits are decent (aside from the lack of MWDs, which is acceptable in some situations). Tbh, I would say it had more to do with the blob, but yes, bad fits and bad decisions certainly played a factor.
PS - Is that you Shigsy?

Oh someone decced EVE-U and didnt know what the hell they were in for, omg the blackbirds are blotting out the sun!
Oldie but goodie about how the UNI fights wars.
Quote:
We form a Grand Blob with 3 people who have been to lots of wars, 20 people who have just taken the tackling class, 5 people who are wondering what a "TS" is, and 1 person who is so new they think this is part of the tutorial. It takes us 10 minutes to figure out if we are a "tackler" or an "EW", and we haven't even left the station yet.
We find the enemy. As Leader #1 "calls a primary" 4 people put their vote in gang chat, then Leader #2 says "Jam that guy" and somewhere someone stands up from their computer and starts to do the "Hammer", And although nobody ever quite realizes this is what happened, Leader #3 has already been podded by 5 of our own guys who are now super excited they killed an enemy Battleship.
After the dust clears we've got 5 people left - shot 5 of the enemy (net loss 45) and for us this is a MASSIVE FREAKIN VICTORY! It is too cause our ships cost 1mil each and thiers about 200. We try to remember which way is home and then fly off in the wrong direction as somewhere nearby, sitting in their pod in a station, someone is thinking this is the best tutorial in an MMO ever.

The blob ...
Unfortunately the majority out there feel that coming out on top in the isk killed on ships means you've won the war.
Other factors you need to consider:
- Did you have to adjust your style of gaming - Did you lose members - Did you gain members (suspend recruitment?)
Wars a fought in other places than on the battlefield AND the ones with the bigger wallet and can sustain ship losses are the victors ...
Unfortunately the ONLY way you can fight Eve-Uni is an extended war ... then their noobs will drop off for lack of play.
Have TFS lost the war? ... NO ... the Battle ... maybe ... But not the war.
Thank-You,
The Pitboss (Space between The & Pitboss)
