To my disappoinment FA has retaken the TPAR outpost.
CFS people docked during the fleet battle and half the fleet is trapped now, under heavy FA blob.
I have to say, not good getting your fleet trapped like that. Losing ships is one thing, getting your guys effectively trapped and out of the game is another. ---------- Richard Simmons in Space |

IT was a long battle, FA played a great long range game. i saw 187 in local, had 84 in gang. A good few alts and scouts in local i'm sure. some people reported 210 in local.
71 ships killed in local 34 pod kills i'd say at an rough guess it's was 65% kills in FA's favour. 45% in CFS's.
A fair many FA docked and logged, an good bunch seemed to head back towards empire space after the battle. The command was given to tank-dock/warp after the favor was tipped towards the FA fleet. The Tpar station is now back in CFS/DSMA hands.
Local was very sporting. Everyone was very respectfull. The only smacktalker was of course Band Zior (no suprise hey)
Thats the report for anyone that cares anyway.

Give credit where credits due.
The battle did not go as last time. Last time the mobile warp disruptors caught many FA pilots. Not this time. Overall a major lagfest and i'm sure ship kills will come out in their favor but we got our licks in. Pretty much smack free. We can do it again tomorrow. It was a blast.
Looks like some are making us out to be the bad guys here. Well all I have to say then is YARRRRR Cast us in any light you like but for the chance to stand shoulder to shoulder with alliances like FA and CA, who have carved out thier niche in this game....yea....we will fight.

Edited by: Mimiru on 19/10/2004 00:00:58 That was deffinately one of the better fleet battles i've been in. At first there was a crapload of lag (to be expected) but after the battle was around 1/2 way over and people were warping out or going boom i was actually able to do stuff. Pity someone had to go and attack me in their hawk, didnt want to shoot it, tis too pretty
Props to both sides for a clean local and fun as hell fight

My experience of the battle was dissapointing. I got a call from fleet commander telling me to get online. It took about 10 minutes to log in and then 6 minutes to undock, during which time I was locked and shot. Luckily my multiple 1600mm plates prevented an early death and I warped out. Still, I couldn't activate a single module (180 in local I think plus 100s of drones).
Anyway, yes, Mace attacking FA being chased by SA was certainly an interesting twist .

Dude if you are attempting to kick out your FA oppressors don't log in the station. Get a full battle setup on before you log, and log in YOUR OWN safe spot. Then when you login you will not have to face the potential fate of dying before your screen has loaded. And can join up with your fleet at your own pace. You limit your commanders options if you log in TPAR within the station.
New Shinra Kill system, please be patient were still ironing out the finer points!! |

We thought they were on their way to us(north), so we had to retreat a bit.We suffered losses during weekend, but that was expected too.Now our kill ratio is growing. The war is still "starting". My implants are gone, but all sta pilots have now fitted "da morale psychtropic booster", in med slot.

Aye, thats one tactic. The other would be to show up before the battle starts, undock and get in position (worked late tonight so missed the start).

fighting on the other side of the battle i had the same issues really. I warped in, couldnt see anything at the start at all just empty space, thought i warped wrong but then it smashed into my view. mobile disruptors and drones and close enemies. I locked a few targets, my modules told me i should be waiting for them to activate (lol kinda silly game message) i got shot, my armor reppairer told me to get a coke and i thought "why not warp out" trying to open any location via onscreen menue, ppl and places or either by the open window didnt work at all. I zoomed out and found myself on desktop. Logged back in 5 mins black screen, im in a pod somewhere totally outside. Lag of Drones and Warpdisruptors = the kill. My fps monitor went down to 0 <-> 1, simply unplayable.
About Mace (that would be me since i was the only mace member down there today) shooting FA, thats not true. I shot some CFS without any official task, not liking them at all etc, but yea it was a good laugh with fa cfs and sa shooting me and even one of my gangm8s opening up on me when i first jumped in :D

No its not one tactic man, its the only way you can function well as a fleet is to never ever log off inside a station.
You really should listen to people who have fought sice start of the game and not develop your own ill thought tactics.
There is no thing as showing up early if its camped 23/7.

Then when you login you will not have to face the potential fate of dying before your screen has loaded. And can join up with your fleet at your own pace. You limit your commanders options if you log in TPAR within the station.
Aye, thats one tactic. The other would be to show up before the battle starts, undock and get in position (worked late tonight so missed the start).
No its not one tactic man, its the only way you can function well as a fleet is to never ever log off inside a station.
You really should listen to people who have fought sice start of the game and not develop your own ill thought tactics.
There is no thing as showing up early if its camped 23/7.

Sorry but that simply is not accurate (the even losses part).
Your fleet dispersed and fled; Some warped to safespots, some to random areas in the system where many were killed, some fled north through mgo and some actually ceased fire (while being pumelled) and docked. We are still collecting kill mails from the engagement(complicated by the fact that most of the europeans logged off right after the engagement) but we know for certain we lost only 6-7 BS and that we killed at least 16. I expect tommorow I will have a fully tally of kills for everyone and optimistically by next week we will have parsed our entire kill mail collection and removed any duplicates.
Good fight to all. It sounded like a blast and its too bad that other obligations did not allow me to take part in the actual fighting of the battle.

Those who were at the battle know who won it and who die or had to flee - there is no doubt about this. The pod ratio was obviously not favourable to DSMA.
Admit when your ennemy was superior. If you can't stand to lose a battle and show some fairplay then change your job and haul water or food at Yulai for npc corp !

Hey guess what, this isn't the n00b fleet battle advice thread. I showed up late, the station wasn't camped before when I logged. I will take your advice but not much point in my doing it alone.
In any case, I've realised my PC isn't really up to huge fleet battles. I've only got 256mb of RAM and a GeForce 3 . So where some ppl are getting one frame every 2 seconds, I'm getting one every minute :).
Even so, just listening in on teamspeak is exciting.

Putting what ever crappy politics aside that people have managed to create, good job FA and UFS . This game is all about having fun and what can be more fun than a war? Both sides have played it very well with out any smack I've seen (except a 'neutral' who didn't like losing their industrial with thousands of cruise missiles), and I look forward to more kills and ship losses. Well played both and again thanks UFS for remembering its only a game.

It also shows how incredibly lame you are by deploying drones to cause lag.

I think most people deploy drones to use as weapons (I do, but then I fly a Dominix and they are an important part of my offence). Lag is a side effect. I didn't see a single command order in gang chat saying "make as much lag as you can".

Us non-Querious people have totally lost the count of alliances down there and who is against whom.

In any case, I've realised my PC isn't really up to huge fleet battles. I've only got 256mb of RAM and a GeForce 3 . So where some ppl are getting one frame every 2 seconds, I'm getting one every minute :).
Even so, just listening in on teamspeak is exciting.
Whoa, a little advice, you need at least 384 megs of RAM or else you'll get that massive harddrive crunching lag.

as far as i know orion fed were completely neutral to cfs and fa up until sunday night sometime when they decided to choose sides and went fa. i may be completely wrong and have got the wrong corp but thats the way i see it. the station is just being passed around at the moment, seems like nobody wants to keep hold of it

The map is very rarely accurate as far as contested station ownership is concerned.

Yeah, I know. Usually doesn't update unless the station is held thru a downtime, and even then it doesn't always update. It's actually worse if it's a station you've actually docked at. Something to do with local cache, or something.
However, whenever it was that Xetic and/or SA and/or FA took a bunch of CA stations a while back, my map was updating pretty regularly and I always operated under the assumption it was because I'd never been to those systems, I didn't have any cached data to corrupt. I've never been to TPAR-G, so I just looked out of curiousity.

Im kind of dissapointed in people not being truthful about the battle in tpar. But oh well nothing can be done if people decide to lie or twist the facts.
In either case, so far this war as being TONS of fun!! constant pvp. ON saturday, i actually logged-on to find that NOL was under attack by a fleet of ufs, and we had a gang ready to strike yet needed some more help, and there was a few of us just logged-on, so they engaged war, and me and othere joined in and we wiped out the UFS fleet. I logged off like 5 mins after. haha best logg ever ;0 no offense to ufs im just saying it was fun to log in and get a nice fight and then log off 20 mins later. _________________________________________________ <3 hi |
