This is what living in W-Space has turned into.
In a region of space where cloaking is king and local doesn't exist, the need to see things on scanner on demand becomes necessary.
My corpmate here is scanning his heart out trying to detect the last prober that was in system. Alas, all we're getting is "no, you can't do that" messages.
I know there's a threadnought on this page about it but seriously CCP we're begging you to change this. I want to ask you directly: Is there any potential for this 2 second delay to change in the future? Or is this just something we're going to have to live with?
Thanks.

LOL, how about, if you want to use the scanner more than once every two seconds, you pay a 10,000 ISK tax. Now that's hope and change.

How about if you go into w-space, you be ready for nonconsentual PvP at any moment? Sometimes you are going to die when in such an uncertain environment.

Non consensual PvP doesn't happen if you can't find anyone cause they refuse to uncloak because the veil of security they once had is gone due to the scan limitations, so they replace it with the next best thing - Being unfindable. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Any particular reason why the top most 19 of those recalibration messages were made within a range of 4s? (14:59:03 - 14:59:07)

Because there is no clear indication of when you are cleared to scan again. Not everyone keeps a clock nearby that shows the seconds tick by. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

staged logs are staged.
You've just sat and spammed the scan button.
But in all seriousness, they need to make it fade like the contracts button does. ------

Christ, don't you know how to count seconds without a clock? Most people can do it by intuition. Are you sheltered or something? ------

Apologies, but between everything else i do in eve which relies on time limitations and holds my focus, counting to myself tends to take the back burner in between Staying alive and relaying intel. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Yes, and if you want to know if the scan was successful and the area is just clear/nothing changed from last scan, and that little notification thingy is only there from the last failed scan, or if you scanned too early you need the Logs window open to see if a new line was produced.
More open windows is always a good thing after all. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

like 4-6 scans per second, no wonder ccp nerfed the scan time.

pre "nerf" I just used the timer that is ON the scanner window, ya know next to the pin window button. now it goes around just slow enough that I get a "too fast" error about every 3 seconds when using that to time. as I didn't feel that the scanner would even update before it went around and disappeared before. if ccp could change that to take 2 seconds to loop around that would be a fine solution imo.

So I get the next scan off immediately after the timer is gone. I waste precious milliseconds if I wait the timer out.

I dont understand your frustration with the scanning timer. If you were trying to probe out a probe ship good luck. Cloaks work both ways and the ship wont show up on your overview. ------------ insert flashy signature here. |
