Look.
We dont care:
What you had for lunch.
What "you" would do.
How "surprised" you'd be if something happened.
Seriously, tell us blow by blow what is happening. Cut the chat, no one gives a flying monkey about you guys chatting about how you left your dishes in the washer and that if you were in the tourney how you'd fly it.
We dont care about you making assumptions.
What we want is you to talk us through, what is happening, as it happens, making clear at ALL times what side is taking damage, who is taking damage (NAMES OF PILOTS ARE NICE).
Seriously, sort it out.
I cant wait till walking in stations, so that i can bust into the commentators room and beat the crap out of you all and steal your microphones.
Ive watched paint drying being more exciting.

Yeah agree. I had to turn it off after a few fights as there's some seriously bad commentary going on. Not even sure if some of the commentators have ever played EvE to be honest...

i usually wait till the videos are on youtube. that way, i can mute the sound and watch.
the first time i heard them do a match i was convinced they had down syndrome, they even make kiaeddz look almost intellegent.

Seriously guys when i watch soccer game on TV no1 is ever saying "I think Team A is going to go over the left flank now" or even "how many goals can team a take before they cant recover" They are more like "hes on the ball hes passing to omg hes doing this and that"
You guys are doing the first two sentences over and over again, if I dont feel like im in the fight next fight im gonna stop listening alltogether...

I love the tournament dearly, however CCP should give all 3 weekends full coverage. No doubt its more expensive, but seriously it cant be THAT much in comparison to what CCP are making and it would make the tournament 10x the great experience it already is.

How expensive can it be to record their own game, do some editing and upload it on youtube or stream it themselves?

Its like listening to the world cup on radio, only with commentators that are used to commenting on paint drying competitions.

WIS is an expansion which allows EVE players to wear leather and walk around stations.
Dust514 is a console shooter/rts which will tie into EVE and affect sov. |

I think a major problem is that they are commentating as if we are also seeing what they see.
Instead radio commenting is much more detailed: they have to tell every single detail that they see and NOT tell what they think what it means (only what they see).
Leave the digestion/thinking to the end of the match.
In essence: you have to act as if a blind person is sitting in front of you and be his or her eyes.

Now were talking about which ship model Ryan likes better... I would expect to overhear this kind of talk at a gay bar, amirite?

Eh, commentators are doing their best, give them a day to work the kinks out as talking in front of thousands of people is a bit of pressure  .
Radio only is a bit of a kick in the nuts for the hundreds of dollars most of us give CCP yearly, huddling around the radio like 1940 isn't really doing it for me.

It's kinda old but linked below is is commentary from me in the SAK Cruiser Tournament that happened a few years ago.
I was trying to sort crappy camera controls and a slow computer, but maybe you guys could tell the commentators that they should start commentating. Also the video and audio is out of sync[sorry], but the commentary is what we're after.

Also, it's worth noting that the tourney UI is not working right now, so it's hard for us to differentiate on who is doing what sometimes, since we can't split the targets up effectively, or we lose all brackets. I wish we could do more play by play, but this is a big adjustment atm.

Stop talking **** though mate, please concentrate more on whats actually happening, the fight blow by blow, no one cares about your personal opinions etc, thats somethign to be discussed AFTER the fight.
Raw facts, the match blow by blow is what we want, names, what, when who and where.
