Tripoli	Posted - 2004.10.21 06:59:00 - [1] After a many hours of discussion amongst the Senior Staff of XenTech and a formal vote, we have reached a difficult decision. I want to make it clear that this was a gut wrenching process. We know not everyone will understand or agree with our decision. When hostilities broke out between two groups who we called friends, XenTech was divided on what to do. We feel this course of action is the only way to preserve our friendships which we greatly value while still maintaining our honor. Effective immediately, XenTech is resigning it's membership in the Coalition of Free Stars. We have no hard feelings for the CFS or its members. Like I have stated, you are our friends. We hope we can keep it that way. If you need help fighting off pirates, give us a call (that is, if we aren't already there). For those members of UFS that have already started shooting us, I pray that you rethink your actions. We mean no harm to any of the area's inhabitants. We are currently exploring other options as to a membership in another alliance. At this time we definitely do want to stay involved in the Querious and Period Basis regions. Once a decision has been reached, I'll post here again. ---

I'm afraid it's a bit too late to preserve your honour. You were a long standing member of CFS and you turned your back on them, when they needed you the most.

In terms of PR, the problem is that most people and corps will be judged by their latest actions, not their history. CFS is in its biggest crisis ever, and it needs all the help it can get. If a long-standing corp leaves, it can serve as a bad example for the corps who just joined, who might also consider to leave. But I agree with you, if they already have proven themselves on numerous occasions, political and military wise, they have done their bit your king and country. But still leaving in the heat of the moment, cannot be fully justified.
