Originally by: Lord Helghast haven't watched this one yet but just saw over at eve-ic, and i hate to say it while the ending of 1 ship left might have been exciting the winning team looks like it really didnt do well, i mean 500m loss vs 1.4b loss i mean in a monetary way, and in just the sheer size of ships fielded its amazing that their was so much death on the winning team, well played definitly by the team that lost.
Cost is irrelevant in the tournament - you fit up for a strategy and execute it as best as you can - you don't win on isk values - you win on destroying ships.
We decided to engage the ecm first - our concern was that attacking a logistics while jammed may not work out so well (it could have had local rep - or logistics drone assistance). It was a tough call to pick ECM over logistics. If I had a crystal ball, I certainly would have picked the buffer tanked Scimi first. 2x Rooks and a logistics is a sound support system - its tough to call a primary and it negated A LOT of our damage at first.
We had a two-pronged attack - while the Assault frigs didn't succeed as well as I had hoped, at least they bought us some time. I certainly regret not fitting up more eccm on our ships.
I knew going into the match that Laconian would be a very difficult opponent - they certainly lived up to their reputation. They played very well, maybe if they had fit cap boosters they wouldve killed our Tengu - or maybe they would've just died faster.
Who knows - it was a great fight, I feel privileged to have taken a part in it (even if I was a spectator for most of the fight! ).

Note to self: don't let Goddess fit smart bombs in the finals.
My pod was in structure before I slow-boated my pod out of his way as his Sleipnir MWD-charged me.

that Tengu finishing at half structure was the difference between Laconian Syndicate finishing in 21st position and fighting next weekend, and finishing in 49th position.
In that respect thats one nasty Tengu

Uh, because they kept capping out? It's only been said through out this whole thread that they were having cap issues.
