Nice blog, and nice ideas behind scene.
By what I could see the main argument is that you need to work to get the money you can get from an area. Not afk moon mineral extracting as the main way to get money from area.
So getting control over area is just the first step, after you need to create a workforce to extract money from there, sounds good, much more close to what happen in real societies. You need to attract people.
More need for people results in more people flying up and down doing their jobs and not a lot of people docked waiting for blob. nice too, its harder to defend a lot of citizens than a lot of POSes.
Maybe we are facing the start of a symbiotic situation between PVPers and carebear. Just like in real world.
If we are going close to RL way of working for state is there anyplace in plan any employment mechanism?
As in RL there are those who make money (people who like safety and wants to be protected, the regular citizen - carebear in eve :-) and there are those who defends the first one, who spend the money made by the first one (the army - PVPers in eve).
So would be nice to have a way for those who want to live under protection to pay for those who want to fight for the state. This should be done at alliance level. First part should pay tax for any activity generating money (complex, mining, moon-mining, etc) not sure how, and for other part: payed jobs.
Something like "gate control policeman": The member need to be part of a specific fleet, flying in an specific ship/fit and stay at gate to fight any hostile who enter the system. pay by hours of service.
Bounty over npc belts should be payed by alliance wallet. So Alliance pays for members to clear the are for miners.
Alliance could be able to put bounty over any member of an enemy alliance, but this bounty is only available to alliance members itself. Not for general.
"Roaming Defense Fleet Member" should be part of a fleet with a defined minimum number of ships (type specified?) and roam by a defined path in a defined time frame. Pays by trip.
Alliance could be able to place bounty over enemy structures, bounty would be shared by fleet members, This will be an incentive to fleet efficiency, as bounty will be shared by members.
We can even see a salary war :-) corps will be looking for better organized regions where are higher bounties, salaries and rewards.
"Scan specialist", no more belts in overview by default, alliance need someone to scan them and turn them public (just for members). pays by bookmark found.
etc, etc, etc...
Well I think it was just an hallucination :-) But you should agree: Would be nice !!!
