Edited by: Katiana Swan on 16/09/2009 06:05:39 Note: 20 million isk IPO
Hi there,
First off a bit about myself.
I have been playing now for approximately 17 days. I paid my first subscription fee 3 days ago. I have found quite a liking to mission running. A few days after I started I found a corporation called Curse of Eternity, who's director Anu Koir took me under his wing. We were planning on starting a new corporation however Anu seems to be semi-MIA at the moment. Anu offered me a couple of loans totalling about 7 million isk advising I repay him once I get out of trial. This has been done and I sincerely thank Anu and the Curse of Ethernity team for all of their help and advice. Its now time for me to move into an area I am fascinated by.
The economics of Eve are truly amazing. I seem to have barely scratched the surface even with the game itself, I have spent some time reading the various market threads around including the bank issues and the guy with an unlimited bond and seemingly no records of a business plan. Whilst I still have a lot to learn, I found very few people source funding for mission running. After chatting in the SCC lounge it appears this is because the amounts are usually quite low and standard loans etc are recommended instead, but wheres the fun in that!
As a new player, I am currently doing level 2 missions in Youl with a very nice station, I have 3 Level 2 agents here and 2 Level 3 so I can virtually progress my whole career without having to move all the time. This also allows me to take the market discussions people on my journey, as I go to higher level agents I will require higher level ships/weaponry etc so I can increase the IPO as I go.
Now, as someone quite busy in real life I find myself with patches of time. Sometimes I have a full weekend to go crazy, whilst another week I may only have a few hours. Thats why I chose an IPO, payment and return will be directly related to the amount of time I put in.
I will be paying dividends every week. This is my plan:
* Start with a 20 million isk IPO - This will cover my cruiser having more appropriate fittings and purchase of cheap rigs
* Maximum Investment Per player - 1 million isk. Shares can be traded if players like but I want to let a fair few in, more will be available when I advance to level 3 agents in 1-3 weeks.
* Return on investment. I want the return to be 60% of all rat bounties. So mission rewards, loyalty points, and mission loot/salvage are my own income but investers get 60% of all rat income. So if I kill a 65,000 isk cruiser, then 39,000 isk is assigned to the investers.
* My full API details are available to anyone and are published below. As I have no secret trade routes or anything I don't see any reason to hide the information. This way investers can check for themselves precisely how much they expect to recieve at any given time.
User ID : 5526030 API Key : 51017D850E934E08B077DF2B119C234BCCB3473E7F844137A455842727BF8405

* To give people an idea of a typical mission running week (was quite low this week) I made a total of
From 9th Sept to 16th Sept - 699,178 isk From 2nd Sept to 9th Sept - 1,957,918 isk
If we determine the 60% take for investers : From 9th Sept to 16th Sept - 419,506 or weekly Return on investment of 2.09% From 2nd Sept to 9th Sept - 1,174,750 or weekly Return on investment of 5.87%
Assuming an average based on the current two weeks of data:
Average Return on investment for 1 month = 15.92%
I should advise that I was on holidays for 3 days this week so was unable to do much mission running however I was using level 2 agents. During the previous week (2nd to 9th) I was available to run missions however all was done using a Level 1 agent. Therefore I expect the return could actually be significantly higher once I get back on track and into Eve more steadily.
* I don't want to put a time limit (min or max) on this IPO so I reserve the right to close the IPO at any time, paying out the full balance alongside any interest accrued to date.
The corporation has 1,000 shares by default, therefore price on each share will be 20,000 isk representing a total of 20 million isk. If people want to buy in batches of 1 million the amount of shares would be 50.
Any questions, feel free to put them here or ingame and I will reply as soon as possible.
So simple data: Average Estimated Return - 3.98% per week Share cost - 20,000 isk each Maximum purchase per character - 50 shares (1 million isk) Interest paid out weekly API Data public for anyone to monitor
To invest please send the amount of ISK you would like to invest (max 1m) along with description saying how many shares you would like to purchase. Character recieving payment is Katiana Swan. Reservations are acceptable with a 24 hour payment deadline before next in line gets the shares.
Note: Brock had a look through my plan and i have reserved 1 block of shares for him (50)
Kind Regards, Kat

Thanks for your questions. Yes I insure my ship, the IPO is more for fittings as I already have a cruiser and some named fittings, I just need a couple of rigs and a few items slightly better named.
60% of rat bounties alone allows the other income streams to ensure I can recover ship losses etc on my own. from what I can tell, an expected Return on investment of 13-20% per month seems fairly above average.
Finally, if I wanted a hand out or loan I probably would have accepted it when offered by my corporation and a few people in the SCC Lounge. I am fascinated by the economic depth this game has to offer. It's probably the main factor in my joining and subscribing as it really shows just how deep this game goes. I probably still don't know about 97% of what this game has to offer from what I have seen so far.

Will be available in-game both before and after downtime. I would like to make an amendment to my first post where I advised Anu had been paid in full. I had the entire forum post in a text document and wasn't planning on launching for a few days. In actual fact, I haven't yet paid Anu back but am saving for it, should be able to do so in the next few hours. Anyone wanting their transaction reversed as a result please let me know and I will organize it. I wanted to put this here to ensure existing investors were updated to this.

I wasn't in anyway suggesting the percentage was not good, just the amount of return I would see volume wise. Percentage wise its great but given only a maximum of 40k isk return per week its not enough to excite me. Should I be able to invest larger figures id defiantly be interested. So I wasn't in any way commenting badly but instead saying good luck and perhaps if they offer a larger bond in future I will look to invest.

Have to agree. I admire the OP for dipping his toes into MD this way but the ROI on this is so small that for many it's not worth bothering.
Best of luck to the OP though, and welcome to MD :)

I love to see the enthusiasm from the OP, and even posting API Key right on the forums.
I'm slightly concerned, however, at seeing with your API that you recently had a destroyer loss in Youl and your only other ship besides shuttles is a destroyer fitted for mining in Hek. Are you only trying to replace your destroyer loss? If you did insure it, why were you unable to replace it and in fact bought modules in Youl instead of a ship?
Also, you claim to like the dynamics of the Eve economy, hence this IPO instead of accepting an offered donation from your corp, but I see that you are in fact your corporation's CEO with 0 members. I would like to know more about your history and why you started a corp only for this IPO?
Note: Please don't take this as undue criticism. You opened up your full API Key to investors, so it's only warranted to get some answers to any that may be concerned that you are responsible with the ISK and trustworthy. I know it's only 1 Mil per person, but you wanted some experience, so.... :)

Thanks for your comments Dretzle.
I was doing recon mission level 1 at the time where I had to run quickly to the stargate and just run through to the end not killing everything. I attempted the mission multiple times in my cruiser and kept getting hammered by the npcs almost losing it so I pulled out my old destroyer (from my level 1 missions) and fitted it for speed (hence the overdrives and afterburner). I almost got to the gate but it died unfortunately. I then tried going through with my capsule but it wouldn't let me :)
The destroyer plus fittings was about 1.3m loss maybe a little more but it wasn't in use any more anyway. I would have preferred to not lose it but didn't want to cancel mission and lose my standings.
As to this corp, I just started this corporation about 6 minutes before I posted my offering. If you do a search for my old corp in my first post and my employment history you will see I was there before hand (ie minutes before the post). I just wanted to be organised when creating the IPO.
There isn't much to tell about my previous history. I have only been playing this time for just over two weeks. I tried Eve a couple of years ago but stopped playing after about 2 months as real life requirements kicked in. If that happens again I will close the IPO and pay back investors.
I am happy to answer any questions, your post showed that you done your research which I think is important seeing how some other operations have had various issues when not performed.
I hope this helps.

Put me down for 1,000,000 ISK. I will pay as soon as I can get in-game, which will probably be tomorrow morning (err, just after down-time). Which is also the reason I couldn't look up information about your previous corp, not having access to the game, atm.
It still nags me a little that you claim to have a cruiser, but I can't see that in your assets anywhere. I don't doubt you, and maybe it's only a mistake of the tool I am using. My guess would be that you were out in your cruiser in space while I did the lookup, and the tool is only reporting assets you have in stations. I see that you have done a couple missions since receiving donations from other players, so you do have a mission running ship and I guess that quiets my reserves.
Okay, I didn't really have any reserves and I just wanted to look at another player's data and see what I could find. It's been fun. Put me down for the 50 shares at 1 Mil total. :)

I will be providing weekly updates here in this forum thread as well as in our mailing list in Eve (thanks to Maxmillian Syfax for showing me a few things and his suggestions in the game)
I will try to organize a tool to export data on bounties for easy clear reporting. I have found the corporation tax can be set to 60% but it doesn't seem to be working at the moment as none of my rewards/bounties are being sent to corp wallet. It might have a time delay on it. I am hoping it will only put bounties but some have said they believe it lists mission rewards as well.
I am trying to make Eve Wallet Aware work but I think others are flooding my API a bit as it's not currently gathering the data. If I continue to be unable to use this I will try EMMA (thanks to SCC lounge for suggesting these tools, in my initial posts I counted every bounty prize transaction one at a time).

I believe the corp tax does work on mission rewards, as well. Your explanation here does explain why you started your own corp. Did you take into consideration corp costs in your analysis?
Wallet data can only be viewed once per hour per person. Meaning, I believe I have downloaded your wallet data in the last hour, so you will not be able to (don't worry, I'll stay off it now :D ). From the API page you can change your API Key so others will not be able to view your data in the future, if you so wish. Asset data can only be viewed once per day, I believe, so you won't be able to access that part 'till tomorrow, at least. :D

I didnt consider corp costs or my initial investment (fitted cruiser etc). I figured it wouldn't be required if the IPO was focused on a single aspect of the rewards but may be an idea to change when I expand for level 3's.
No problem with the API, I don't need it immediately anyway. I don't want to change it as I want it available for investors to check up on it whenever they desire. I only need the journal bounty prize section anyway.

After some experimenting I had the corp tax set to 60%. This sent 60% of all bounties, mission rewards, and mission bonuses to the corp wallet. If this was to work only for bounties it would make my job a ton easier, simply paying out dividends every week with zero calculations required.
Therefore I would like to request a modification to this IPO.
I would like to set corp tax to 40% , meaning 40% of all bounties, mission rewards, and mission bonuses go to corp wallet. mission rewards and bonuses make up a much larger chunk of income than the bounties do as a lot of my missions are rats that don't give bounties or give tags instead (which has zero benefit for the investor).
It will remain on 60% until it's changed in about 23 hours. From just 5 hours of missions the corp wallet already houses 1.3 million isk so I believe the return on investment will be significantly higher.
If anyone has any concerns or alternate recommendations please let me know. I attempted to use eve wallet aware but it didn't break down my journal entries for some reason, and I tried EMMA but it wouldn't even load on my Windows7 machine after installing the advised frameworks.
This new recommended way ensures that the funds accrued in the corp wallet are automatically moved there and ensures they aren't spent (any funds showing in corp wallet remain there till dividend day).
I apologise if this change inconveniences anyone, i am just attempting to streamline the operation as much as possible

I just did a quick run on my last weeks journal and compared mission reward + time bonus with bounty prices. Mission Reward + Bonus represents about 30% of my total non-loot income (reward + bonus + bounties). A reduction of the payout from 60% to 40% would represent a reduction of total payout by 33% so by adding the mission reward it would be about the same payout as before. Maybe consider a tax rate of 42% since that would represent a reduction by exactly 30%.

Edited by: Allen Heath on 17/09/2009 08:41:37 Don't get me wrong here. Of course 40% is good for me, too. The 42% was just a suggestion to have a round 30% reduction. (and because 42 is such a wonderful number) |

Thanks everyone.
Only a few investors still need to pay, they have about 12 hours left before backups can be used. I am happy to go with the 42% as a permanent payment option. I am now able to do level 3 missions however I want to refine my skills before I push up there (a few level two's are still causing me difficulty). I may actually be looking to double the size of this IPO in a week or two so I can move to the level 3's and upgrade to battlecruiser but this all depends on how comfortable I am with the extra levels of difficulty.
Things are looking great so far with the corporation wallet already sitting on 1.8m representing a 9% return on investment after day 1. With my real life commitments it probably won't grow a huge amount beyond that for this week.
Thanks for everyone's comments. Post 3 has been updated with reservations and payments. Kat.

Just a quick note on corp tax: If any single taxable income is below 100k isk then corp tax is not applied to it. So, you could get 99,999 Isk in bounties, the same for the mission reward and again for the mission bonus and nothing would go to the corp wallet despite you gaining 299,997 Isk in total for the mission.
This is being mentioned purely because you seem to be a thorough person and the situation is likely to arise with the lower levels of missions. Maybe save you a headache later on. I'm also very happy to see this succeed since it is the only mission running IPO I can think of that has actually secured the required investment.

Thank you for that information. It could make a big difference. I will monitor things for the next week and if the payout isn't suitable we can discuss options to modify it.
Thank you again for this. Seems a lot of this game is designed around finding information yourself as I think I spoke to about 10 people about corp tax and none knew of this.

Well, I'm not mia anymore, I had a contract to fill with the United States Air Force. they had a virus that I ended up removing, and then the whole process of repairing what it did took place. I'd like to buy some shares... Katiana, I typically don't do the forums on this toon, for those of you who don't know me I have 3 main combat toons, one from 2004, and two from 2005. I never link them to this account/character in the form of names.
Katiana, I'd like to buy 2 million ISK worth of shares ... would that be possible... to have someone with a larger investment who has already invested and is willing to invest more?
Eve mail me in game.

Apologies for the delay. I have updated post 3 with new information on current reservations and all shares have been sent (that have been paid for). First dividend is scheduled for just under 3 days from now and currently sits at 2.2 million isk.
As to my history, I warped my trusty omen into a mission which was a rush to the can, grab contents and get out mission however after looting the can I became stuck on a few monuments. Unfortunately the Omen exploded about 10 seconds later. When I became stuck I panicked and probably had enough time to change course and get out but I spent too long hoping to find a path through the monument automatically.
This was a painful lesson however the Omen was fully insured and its most valuable fittings mostly survived. Loss was approximately 4 million isk. I then sold my dogtags and various named loot which brought my balance up over 8 million isk allowing me to upgrade to a Maller. The Maller is now insured and fitted quite well, it seems to be a far stronger ship however lacks the drone bay of others meaning some of the quick close range frigates are able to avoid a lot of my fire. My fitting has been modified to handle this and thus far seems quite suitable.
The Omen loss came at no loss to investors, all losses incurred are my responsibility and will remain as such. I just broke 1 million skill points and I am starting to get fairly comfortable with my characters skills and ability, I expect after week one to expand this IPO to allow for a battlecruiser (if investors accept the expansion vote).
Thank you for reading, I hope to see you all in space at some point

First Dividend Payment - 2,825,005.90 This represents a return on investment of 14.125% for this week Payment has been made
So as with my last post, I have upgraded to a Maller. The Maller seems to be great in terms of it's defensive and offensive power (unfortunately can't fit 5 heavy lasers quite yet due to powergrid restrictions). The Mallers biggest negative is its inability to hit a few mission npcs that orbit fast at 1.5km. Even with a web and travelling away from them it still takes ages to kill. The Maller has no drone bay so that is also not possible.
Youl has 4 * Level 2 agents ranging from -18 Qual to +20 Qual. I generally just accept all 4 missions and run through them one at a time before docking, I seem to get importants a lot more faster. As such my standing has gone quite high and I can use up to Level 3 Quality -4 with the Amarr Navy.
In the last couple of hours in the SCC lounge one of the participants requested a courier delivery be done for some various blueprints. I offered to action this and also had a second delivery with another participant organised. This increased my personal cash from 9m to 15.4m isk. This means I am fairly close to getting a battlecruiser. I like the look of the Prophecy over the Harbringer as it has a bonus to armor resistances so would be safer I think.
A prophecy will cost about 25m for the ship and maybe 5m for fittings and insurance.
I think doubling this IPO to 40m will be more than suitable to cover this with some cash left over. Selling my maller will also net me another 8m.
Therefore, I want to open the doors to expansion. I know its soon (1 week) since starting but I have gone up to level 3. From what people have been saying it is unlikely I will be ready for level 4 for quite some time.
I will edit my third post to reflect the expansion information

Sorry for the delay, I will also update post 3 with unpaid shares etc. I have gotten a little carried away in game with these level 3 missions, they are more challenging but provide far higher rewards. Have you considered setting up a station trading operation to run in tandem with your mission running ? I would be very happy to explain how station trading works if you aren't familiar with it. I would also be very happy to fully fund the operation on mutually agreeable terms. Or you could just expand your ipo to incorporate the increased capital you would need.

Thank you for the offer. At the moment I want to restrict things to mission running however I have been selling my good mission loot (named items) on the markets in a few places. My current mission running location is virtually out in the middle of nowhere so not much point selling there, I plan to build up a ton of stuff then move it to Amarr or another sub-capital location (tried Jita when i started but got bored quickly having to update the orders every 10 minutes).
I have been keeping all of my salvage stuff hoping to be able to one day build my own rigs. Other than selling my own stuff brought in from rat cans I don't want to delve into trading other items just yet, my main focus is on the mission running (which I am enjoying immensely). I might take you up on your offer one day in the future however.

Thank you for your comment. My post in regards to battleship was to continue doing level 3 however utilizing a battleship instead of a battlecruiser. The idea was with a battlecruiser I would be able to complete the missions faster and with less risk involved (as the ship is much stronger). This may change however as I feel I am getting stronger as my skills go up and I find better ways to setup my ship. The guys in the SCC lounge have been extremely helpful in advising on ways to counter various issues but in some cases I am still having to warp in and out repeatedly to finish a mission.
My next goal which I should achieve in the next day or so will be to create a loot collecting and salvaging ship as I find a large amount of my time is poorly utilised slowly traveling between the cans I have left spread sometimes over 100km apart. I also need to train to be able to use tractor beams which should save me plenty of time. It's tough to weigh up time used in collecting loot when this has no financial gain for my investers so any optimization I can do in this area should be beneficial to both parties

Was quite happy with this weeks dividend. Level 3 missions are definitely providing substantial increases in income. I did need to loan 600k from the corp wallet at one point however this was paid back about 24 hours later.
I am quite happy with my current battlecruiser, expansion is not expected for at least a few weeks, when it happens it will be to purchase a battleship to handle level 3 missions more efficiently.

Dividend received. Thank you.
Also, might I suggest you stick with the battlecruiser for Level 3 missions. You mostly face cruisers in those missions, few battlecruisers, and still many frigates. The battlecruiser guns are much more suited to fight other cruisers than battleship, not to mention the much slower target time of battleships.
So, if you're looking to do level 3 missions more efficiently, train up your skills and gear for your battlecruiser. :) That's my 0.02 ISK.

10/06 - Dividend Paid 16,138,068 (403,451 isk per block ---(ROI - 40.345%)
Dividend was paid a little early as I may not be available to pay it tomorrow. Was a very nice dividend, I don't expect it to get much higher than this in future weeks. Yesterday I moved from a Level 3 Quality -17 to a Level 3 Quality +17. This has increased reward/bonus however it isn't a massive increase and probably won't be directly noticeable in future dividends.
I went through my collected loot today, mainly the named stuff and was surprised to find some of considerable value (15m to 35m for some items). I have put them on the market so my total sell orders come to 75m isk.

The main reason I was considering a battleship was because there are a couple of level 3 missions that have battleships in them, nothing I fit on the harbinger can break their tanks and every time I get the missions I either need to decline or find someone in local to help. I can't attempt a stronger damage output as then I cannot tank the battleship. Skills wise, obviously when I have tech 2 guns I should be able to do more damage, but it will take a good month or two to get there. I don't want to invest in extremely good weapons as they sell at 10+m per unit, meaning if my harbinger dies, I suffer a massive personal loss.
I was considering a battleship but using medium guns on it. Means a stronger tank, easier to fit it up and can handle those missions I am currently having trouble with. I also play Eve at work semi-afk so was planning on fitting it up for mining during those periods (can't fit more than 5 Miner II on the harbinger (and that's with 5 coprocessor in lowslots).
I am still chatting with a few people in game, considering an Armageddon (they look very awesome) so this would be an additional 60m raised. Assuming my profit amount stayed the same, this would obviously reduce the weekly dividends for initial investors from 30-40% per week (roi) to about 15-20% per week.

Level 3 missions should not require you to destroy battleships. Pay careful attention to the mission description. Those few missions where battleships do appear you usually have to just fly to a can and retrieve and item, or destroy a structure. On those missions, destroy the one item you need to (or retrieve from the can) and warp out. When the journal flashes (and you have any mission loot you need) you can successfully complete the mission.
I've been doing Lvl 3s for a long time for Amarr and can attest to this. Recon, for example, is one where you don't shoot much.
But confirming that I received the payout. Thanks!
EDIT: And for the quality increase on your level 3s, keep in mind the sec status of the system. For the same level mission, same quality agent, the rewards in a lower sec system will be higher than a higher sec system (0.5 systems will give higher rewards than a 0.9).
So, if you went from a quality -17 to a quality +17 and aren't seeing too much of an increase, this could be why. If there is an increase, though, then by all means to the one that pays more. :)

I don't remember that mission, though it's been a while. From what I read, though, it sounds like it is incredibly hard to take out that battleship for an Amarr (for a Caldari missile boat it is easier).
But that has to be the only (or one of the very very few) missions that require you to take out a battleship. Bringing help on that mission is a good idea, but I wouldn't recommend buying a battleship for it, as you will be wholefully inefficient if you try to use your battleship in other level 3s.
One option is to decline the mission. When you do so, I read, they offer the same mission buy flipped (you fight the Minmatar first and the Gallente BS in the next part). If you are better equipped to fight Gallente, you might try that. Another option would be to decline and go do missions for your other agent for 4 hours (so you can decline the other Declining a Wedge mission they'll reoffer you).
It's just an option of whether you want to buy and fit a battleship for one mission or not, though it will eventually come in handy for you.
And don't think I'm trying to dictate your play or anything! Just offering friendly advice.

I remember this mission, it's nasty.
Your lasers won't deal much damage and the need for some extra tank will reduce your dps only further (hardeners instead of heat sinks). My advice would be to check your drone skills and selection (choose the appropriate damage type and consider training for T2 drones).
Also consider using some cheap hardwirings if you don't already do this and if your dps is not enough to melt a bs tank, switch for this mission to Amarr Navy (Multifrequency M) crystals.
All in all a Battlecruiser should be able to take out a NPC battleship.

10/14 - Dividend Paid 15,008,301 (375,207 isk per block) ---(ROI - 37.520%)
Thanks for the advice above. I have started a skill plan to guide me to Tech 2 Armor Repair, followed by Tech 2 medium weapons, agent related skills and followed by training up towards a HAC and then a command ship. This will constitute 120 days of skills (a few other ones mixed in there with it).
I am fairly happy with my Harbringer. With the help of my friend Anu Koir we have been structuring the harb to handle dual armor repairers constantly without a sacrifice to damage output. This has almost been achieved.
I have been using my loyalty points to add some nice little bits and pieces to my ship including faction ammo (and soon to be) Amarr Navy Medium Armor Repairer. I would also like to invest in 7 best named medium lasers however cannot currently justify the 55 million isk price for them.
Thanks for tuning in, will see you all next week.

10/21 - Dividend Paid 5,531,590 (138,289 isk per block) ---(ROI - 13.823%)
This weeks dividend was unfortunately a lot lower than the norm. Our sons came down with conjunctivitis and one of them also had tonsillitis at the same time so we had a bit of time in the after-hours hospital etc. I was also sick with a throat infection so whilst I was off work, I wasn't really comfortable sitting at a computer desk much this week.
Thank you for your time.

EDIT: Oh, and dividend received.
Finally got your Driving A Wedge mission with that BS. With my skills and setup it wasn't too much of a problem in my Drake, but I can see how that would be difficult/impossible to a new player. Hope you found a way around it.

10/29 - Final Dividend Paid 9,643,143 (241,078 isk per block) ---(ROI - 24.107%)
Hello Shareholders,
It is with deep regret I must close this IPO for the time being. To be entirely honest, the past week I found and got rather attached to a game called Outer Empires. It is a browser game with a fair few similarities to Eve. It also has an iPhone version due for placement on the apple store any day now where one can resume where they left off etc making it convenient when I am at work and also convenient when traveling or not in front of a computer.
Whilst I cannot quite understand why I find it so appealing (the combat and graphics have nothing compared to Eve) it's a lot more personalized. The lead dev is available in game to chat almost every day, is always asking for feedback and making changes/upgrades as users request them. It only has a few hundred players and is in it's first couple of months of infancy. The game has a free limited version however subscription only costs $3 USD or so per month.
I think some of the key influences in Outer Empires that have pushed me over are, availability, convenience, low barrier to entry (don't need to train skills for months to compete), it is more grind based in terms of advancement than time based which I both like and dislike. It has a very unique and fairly advanced manufacturing, research (improve random item stats and the itemname changes to include your name as a personalised item sale), mining, habitation/colonise etc.
It isn't like most of the other browser "MMOs" these days where it's limited. You can do what you want, play as long as you want, there is nothing like an energy bar type thing that grows every 5 minutes allowing you to extend your play. The only time based factors are colony productions and colony mining (can colonise a moon/planet, build refineries, mining facilities etc to mine steadily X items per hour. Decent variety of mineral types, gases (can be refined to fuel) and various metal ores that can be processed into solid metal bars then shipped to production facilities in same/other colonies).
This ended up being a mini-review when I meant to just say I was playing Outer Empires. If anyone wants to give it a shot send me a mail in game (Katiana Swan) and I am more than happy to help out and we might even be able to offer you to join our faction(corp).
So I will be leaving Eve for a little while. I am keeping the account subscribed (currently in training for t2 weapons) and my interest in Outer Empire could vanish in as early as a week for all I know or it may be months/never.
The dividend at the top is my last dividend unless I return. If I return to Eve I will keep continuing on the missions and paying dividends if anyone is left as a shareholder. Anyone wanting me to buyback their shares, please send your shares back and then evemail me advising on the number sent. Upon confirmation, your shares will be purchased back at IPO cost (1 million ISK each).
As above, those who want to retain their shares are likely to continue recieving dividends however they will be further apart as I have no idea when I will be returning (likely when I have my t2 weapons to play with them).
RogueHalo kindly gave me a loan a couple of weeks back interest free for 55 million isk. My personal wallet holds approximately 70 million isk (once dividend is paid), so I will first buyback shares off my 40 investors (those who want to sell), then pay back my debt to RogueHalo. My personal Eve assets (ships+mods+sell orders) equal a good 150 million so this isn't an issue.
Thank you kindly to all those who invested and those who helped me along the way in Eve. This isn't a good bye, it's a "taking a hiatus, see you soon".
Warm Regards, Katiana Swan (hope to see you in Outer Empires)

Sorry, was putting my kids to bed and forgot to mention that this final dividend is being paid via my personal wallet and is the average of all previous dividends.

Sure, I'll keep my shares, too. You'll be back; they always come back. I came back. Muahahaha!
Just don't be stupid like me and give away all your stuff when you leave (unless you need to pay off the IPO). I had skills and knowledge of the game to give me a leg up when I came back, but I wouldn't ever want to start over again like that. (I mean, I would if I had to, I just wouldn't want to have to.)

12/12 - Dividend Paid 8,434,811 (210,870 isk per block) ---(ROI - 21.087%)
Ok so I got bored of Outer Empires after about a week. I then got a little carried away by Call of Duty: MW2, got a new laptop to play with and my first Xbox 360. This gave me plenty of time to play various games in my time away from work. My young son actually loves watching me play Red Faction as he enjoys watching buildings and vehicles being decimated by the swing of an axe or multiple carefully placed detonators.
I have continued my subscription with Eve as per normal. I have been playing on and off but ensured my skills were up to date. I can now use T2 medium guns (both pulse and beam) along with T2 armor repairers. I was planning to move up towards T2 ships (command ships etc) however I have lately been considering moving to a new industry or even possibly expanding there.
As may have been seen in the Proton Power thread I have applied to join a part of his team to work in the research and copying sector. This has been the direction I have been skill training for the past week or so (just about to hit Laboratory Operation 5).
If Proton Power rejects my application I will consider an expansion here. It still won't be a large offer as my character will only have the ability to use minimal slots.

A few posts ago I did advise I would be closing the offering however no-one has sent their shares back. I have the funds on hand to easily cover the entire offering. Whilst I paid a dividend today and will likely continue paying dividends at somewhat randomized points whenever I do missions I cannot guarantee regularity. If you choose to continue holding the shares please consider their value as 0 (if not returned) with occasional dividends.
Finally, assuming Proton Power rejects my application, I am looking for a research alliance to join. I am not too interested in starting my own POS for a single character running research jobs. I initially applied to One Stop Mining shop (they have a research alliance now) however they failed to accept my application after 48 hours. I then submitted an application with Zzz but unfortunately after almost 4 days my application hasn't been accepted.
If I start my own research operation it will need to run via an alliance so I can secure investor funded blueprints. If anyone can organise this for me or knows people in Zzz, One Stop, or another research alliance to fast-track my application it would be of fantastic help to me.
I am still active in the forums and occasionally around in Eve. I am looking forward to splitting my interests in Eve between the mission running alongside the more passive research areas. My API is still and will always be publicly available in Post 1 for anyone curious to track my progress.
Thank you all for your time.

I'll take a share buyback. It's been a great investment! Looks like you're looking to go another route now, which is great. I believe I'll want in.
