Edited by: DraconisAlpha on 20/09/2009 18:42:51 Well, I fly gallente and flew both an Ishkur and an Enyo. Is there any reason why I should use an Enyo instead of the Ishkur? I mean, ok, Enyo dps is good (as good as Ishkur one) but it simply cannot reach optimal or even falloff distance. If any kind of ship (cruiser or smaller i mean) has any kind of webber, the Enyo is defeated. With only 2 med slots it has to fit an AB and a scrambler, and if we cannot use a webber we are simply always overrided and defeated. I fought yesterday agains an Enyo with my Ishkur. It was like a drone party, I webbed and scrambled him, 400m/s vs mine 800m/s, I orbited at 7000m and let my drones pop his armor, then I entered in blaster range and he had been popped. He could fire at my drones but theese are quite fast and very difficult to track and if he fires at drones I get in blaster range and fire him, he stops firing at drones and I get out...simply. And the problem is that every af can web and kill him or flee... I wish we will get an extra med slot or I'll simply never see one of them around.
EDIT mmm...didn't see af changes in dominion, have to test it before talkin about that![Laughing](/images/icon_lol.gif) sorry

Fit a S cap booster II and 2x S Reps - Its a lot of fun, and after Dominion you'll be pretty unstoppable with an AB fitted too.
But yeah, have a friend in a tackle inty or Ishkur or something. ![Wink](/images/icon_wink.gif)

Edited by: Psiri on 21/09/2009 00:49:51 Your standard blaster Enyo will be defeated by anything that's,
Cruiser sized packing an AB + web Frigate sized with AB+Web that can strike out to the rims of scrambler range
And it'll struggle and most likely pop versus turret ships using full flights of ECM drones, or ships that simply got good drone skills (ship bonused drones + good enemy drone skills is pretty much a certain ticket back to your pod) and neuts.
You can however fit it with rails and a MWD, even get it to permarun. It's not that bad to be honest, it's like a mediocre Harpy. The difference in price between the two isn't that great anymore though so it's probably not worth the bother.
- As for Dominion I don't think that it'll change much for the blaster Enyo, it shouldn't be that much faster. Whilst it will probably be able to close the distance it'll still be suffering from drones and neuts.

Maybe the Enyo you fought wasn't a very good pilot. An Enyo is a sturdy ship, and even though I don't wish to theory craft and talk about imaginary matches, an Enyo has the potential of defeating an Ishkur. Meh.
Enyos get a bonus to tracking (unlike an Ishkur), and so they shouldn't have a problem hitting light drones.
An Enyo's dps is superior to the dps of an Ishkur, and the Enyo has more cap and more ehp to play with...
Sure, it doesn't have a third midslot for a web, but after the scram changes a frig doesn't really need a web. A scram is all that is needed. Besides, an Enyo and an Ishkur are very different ships... An Ishkur has its potential and weaknesses as an Enyo has its own different strengths and weaknesses.
My Ishkurs stopped carrying webs a looong time ago, and I don't miss'em.

Hint : optimal bonus -> railboat, and since you don't stand a chance vs a medium neut stay the hell out of the 13km range. -- 081014 : emoragequit, char transfered to a friend, 090317 : back to original owner blog |

webs are needed to reliably win duels, especially when you have an optimal bonus. and yes the enyo is terrible compared to the ishkur. the only reason to fly one is that its cheaper dps in a gang than the ishkur.
Reward small gang/solo pvp!

Recommended Armor Tanking Frigate Advanced Blaster Turrets Core Competency
+fall off is the more preferable +optimal does help blasters also, a little bit.
The Enyo has impresive damage, and the +tracking +optimal enhance it's effective damage. A small neutron blaster II will track better then a 125mm AC on a Wolf (if eft be correct)
But has so many week points, most notably predictability, it's gonna have blasters stay out range, that's not hard given it's hardly the most nimble frigate. Also posibly the worst tanking AF. Very poor fitting versitility esp if Railgun fit.

75mm fits are good, still hit far enough to get rid of a long range interceptor using spike, tracks decently enough with antimatter, and leaving enough fitting for 400mm plate.
A blaster Enyo is not versatile enough, sure death against a cruiser with a neut, slow death when tackled by a long range interceptor you can't get rid off... If solo, you'd better be damn good at picking your fights if in a blaster fit... -- 081014 : emoragequit, char transfered to a friend, 090317 : back to original owner blog |

Enyo makes for a rather good ship when hunting down ratting ravens and its rather cheap (as far as AF go) but for solo I would go ishkur as it is more flexable.
