If you fly a Drake in PvP with 2 mil SP or even 3-5 mil SP you will lose it in 60 seconds or less. Learn to PvP first. Then try the Drake. PS, this is coming from a guy who lost 3 Ravens in my first few months of the game.

I know it CAN be good, but that require pilot skill and gamer skill to work out, and in the most of the cases where a Drake is good, is pretty few... you might be better out just using another better and cheaper ship for pvp... like a frigate At your skill level, the drake is a waste! Trust me, i stopped using drakes after my first loss because i figured out flying a frigate or a cruiser ( in my case a incursus and a Thorax ) were both more cost effective and more fun ____________________ I wish my Thorax could use missiles...

If your expecting action at a spot like a gate or a station (somewhere you can exit from the field dispite being pointed), then HAM's all the way. If your expecting action at a spot like a belt or planet (somewhere you can sit burning at full speed all day and still be pointed), then it might be a good idea to fit heavies, for a bit less damage, but you can't be kited. Cause fighting a rapier/huggin or arazu that's got you double webbed/scrammed at 23km's with HAM's isn't terribly fun or productive. You also hit smaller ships far better with the heavies than the HAM's (although this is negated in scram range, cause if it's smaller than you in scram range, it's probably gonna die whether or not you do an extra bit of damage). --------------------------------------------

Take some time to train for the Rifter (Minmatar Frig), then keep training the support skills for the Drake while having fun in the Rifter. You could go for Merlin/Kestrel/Caracal/Moa, but these mostly suck, and you probably do not have the skills required for a AML Caracal. @Tau: That joke is starting to get old. Get over it. The Drake and many other Caldari ships are great solo. @Allen: WTF's with that setup? It's awful. @OP: Don't use setups posted by Allen.

Without the implant, you can switch one HAML to HML, then you should have the PG to fit the third BCS on (maybe ouch CPU though) - that gives more DPS then pure HAMs and two BCS.

I quickly found this out almost 3 years ago when I first started playing & is the reason why I started this character about 15 months back. Keep the Caldari toon for lvl4 missioning in Empire to support your PVP costs & start an Amarr you wont regret it!

Second, if you can't fit the Top rated PVP drake on Battleclinic you have no right to PVP in it. Trust me. I lost my first drake to an empire war. Though given the odds against me even properly fit I probably still would have lost. Rifter, Rupture, Raven and a Myrm (before the bandwith chages).. Finally, as stated start with frigs. They are cheaper and don't hurt as much to loose.

In some cases you can drop the web (when you have a scram fitted) and use an ECCM or other interesting med slot modules. You dont really have the CPU for much, but you can play with that last med slot somewhat.
