i find it p. unbalanced that a group of 10 or less bombers can just wtfpwn bs gangs.
has anyone came up with a good defence for them.
Hell atm there more effective than the old Double DD and a lot cheaper.
dont get me wrong but this seems as bad as the remote DD threw a cyno was.
I do like bombers but there to buffed, I don't wanna see them nerfed back to uselessness just think they are way out of balance.

Bombers are paper thin, just get a HAC or BC and they'll pop faster than he can lock them. Also, don't bunch up like morons.

me either, was flying bombers when they sucked and would ninja rat with cruise missiles
it does take pilot skill to use bomber squads, it is funny as hell when they do a run and 1 fail bomber kills whole bomber fleet

Bombs were added specifically to break up blobs. The fact that there are ECM bombs in addition to the raw damage bombs suggests to me that CCP thought that a small ship counter to RR BS blobs would be useful.

I know this is going to sound silly, but bombers and bombs in general were designed to fight the blob.
Its their sole function really. If you bunch up, with many targets, then you make yourself bomber prey. If you spread out, and cover more area, or operate in smaller faster groups, your immune to the bomber.
Solo bombers are rarely that big of a threat, small packs are pretty nasty to large blobs who will quickly find themselves without support due to the bombers "submarine" style hunting tactics.
Its probably the one decent thing CCP has given smaller groups of players to combat the general "BRING ALL YOUR FREINDS YO!" mentality that most of EVE holds.

Looks like somone got killed by a bunch of bombers.
How to avoid getting killed by them? You could always fly smaller ships such as destroyers and interceptors and assault frigates most bombers wouldnt dare scratch that.

So what it sounds like you should be asking, instead of the misleading "Are bombers overpowered," but "Are BOMBS overpowered?"
Bombers are not overpowered, put a flight of light drones on them or send one interceptor after them. All the bombers will run away or die.

Me and my trusty Red October are offended that you're hating on us.
What you're failing to grasp is that at any point I'm only about 1100 HP away from my pod. It takes a lot of skill to fly properly, skill that doesn't come in handy little skillbooks. Just flying one cloaked is a pain, you need to work out distances to warp in at to avoid being de-cloaked, and have to manually click to fly. On top of that there's the issue of getting bombs angled properly, and so on.
TL;DR: It's easy for something to go wrong, which balances their WTFPWN abilities.

Unescorted tight blobs of BS can and should be killed by bombers
Bombers are the counter to RR BS, which is why they are "overpowered" vs them. Just as fast locking sniper HACs are the counter to bombers... and so forth.

Mixed fleets should always be better.
I saw a post about a bomber complaining that his bomb didn't go off after his ship was pop'd.
Seems like things are working as intended.

Atlas/aaa/rol whine thread spotted.
I wouldn't worry too much about it as you have to do it with a very skillful fc and somewhat skillful pilots who can take orders and I'm pretty sure from reading google translate or ru-caod as well as regular caod that no one on our side qualifies.
