I'd actually say.. ransom, salvage, loot for the order.

Key thing is actually fitting efficiently - no T2/named MWD when it's not needed, same for points/webs. Can go further and switch 1600mm RT plates for next lower meta, etc.

Though you might just be better off doing exploration and then go all out on losing HACs daily, etc

Pretty much, although I rarely have enough privacy to in fact ransom, or people insist on bringing friends outright so I have to just kill them. Still pays well enough for my Hurricane habit and a bit extra for new toys, so I can live with that

Moved out of the FW hot zone though, so I might get more of that now - at the moment randomly roaming through low-sec now looking for new hunting grounds.

There are very few straight industrialists in this game. The people you see grubbing for ISK at highsec belts or in the market are doing it to outfit a PvP alt.

It's really not as hard as you make it out to be. I've paid for all my PvP since PvP'ing 10 days into the game. I had ~50m slapped on me when I started out I think and since then just financed PvP through PvP.

 Well put.

I started out with ~500M starting capital when I got into piracy. This preety soon dwindled to about ~100M, at which point I started flying Rifters almost 100% of the time. First billion took a while, but things got much easier after that.

Generally, making enough ISK to fuel your PvP habit on purely PvP means you have to sacrifice some of the fun you could be having. You (generally) fly T1 hulls with more budget minded fitting and you always keep one eye on the dock/jump button.

That's true to a certain degree - you'd be more looking for efficient ship to fly, rather than "I want to mooo-ooove around in my Vaga"
But that doesn't necessarily restrict you from flying how you want - as in engage vs odds, fly comedy fits, etc. One just has to make it work for him
Then again, I'd rather limit what I fly than resort to doing PvE content on some regular basis, which is just a personal choice, though.

Vagabond can be efficient if you're very selective with the engagements and ransom whenever the opportunity arises. I know at least one person who does pull it off. I do not see any opportunity to be efficient with a solo close-range HAC of any variety however, but the Vagabond can if you're really, really careful.

I would say that the snaked nanocane > Vagabond for low-sec, since it lives in 95% of the situations a Vagabond lives anyway, and can kill more stuff in addition to costing 1/3rd or 1/4th of a Vagabond.

Plate fit really calls for a scout (and preferably prober in a scrambler fit as tackling is just downright horrible with the scrambler) in all the FW infested lands in our post-QR world. I think I'll finally head down that route however, as valid ships/fits for roaming have diminished with QR/FW.

Alt scout has been mine(and not only mine, tbh) best investment into PvP in this game, FAR outclassing pirate implant sets and the like. It does make fights easier in most cases, yes, but it also gives you much more opportunities to get the said fight(though, in most cases it's not much of a fight, ironically).

Not to mention the fun factor of jumping your alt's Bestower and having whole system insta-dock

I dont skimp on ships/mods when i pvp that will get you killed alot more unless you kill noobs/carebears all the time( i dont use faction either though).Like most i fund my ships a varity of ways:
 1) i dont die very often, though sometimes you want to avoid a fight/get out and it just isnt possible.
 2) i have alts with skillz that make money
3)I do a varity of carebear activities mostly kill rats in one form or another to keep sec stat up.

It is possible to earn enough from pvp to fund pvp, but its not as dependable as other methods. If you have a bad week it can drain you fast.

i have 3 invention chars so i dont really do this anymore, but really if youre a proper pvper youre prolly in 0.0 so plex, plexing makes crazy money. i ninja plex in venal with an ishtar sometimes make 2-3 bill in a week of casual plexing

also lowsec 4/10 plexs make pretty good isk too, quick to finish and good drops.

alternativly suicide ganking haulers makes very nice isk if youve got a free afternoon to sit around nijara -or whatever its called- with a few mates. easy money

scamming used to be so much easier now its harder to do but never underestimate the idiocy of others,

kill missionrunners, even without lofty scam - srs sad panda face- its quite easy to trick them, or if there really worth it (4-5 bill fits)you can join there corp for a day or two and then kill them.

you can run missions, but sigh . . -0.0 missions arnt to bad isk wise tho-

you can rat, but sigh . . .

as for making money from pvp, fly lots of t1 fit t1 frigs and kill ceptors in them, i remember doing that for a while lol, id put a salvager on my rifter lol

 1)set up a poker site.
2)Use alt's and friends to control the table and therefore bust out other players.
 3)?????????
 4)Profit!
If you read this then you have to lick my balls.

My yacht is in the Caribbean.

A lot of vets pour scorn on people who mine or run missions, but most have guilty secrets concerning these activities when it comes to making isk.

 Like mining with your geddon?

I believe that was way back in 04, but I'd be struggling to remember, way b4 I took my pvp seriously.

Now I use hulks and macks.

Alt doing carebearish stuff or if they have solo account they grind isk from time to time usually. Ratting and missions. Some play also markets.

Rinse, repeat. Works easier when you are younger, good to bring a friend in a guardian if you don't have the confidence, but 50% of 2b is about half as much as 100% ;)

Have you been watching me play?

I nuked a mission raven (****-fit, unfortunately - only a 10M drop in arbies) with a curse+basilisk last night. Compared to the golem from a couple of weeks ago that dropped ~250M in faction goodies.
