hmmm, I was trying to order a mug just last night and cancelled it for these exact same reasons. Freaky that I then stumble across a thread on the same topic. Talk about customers being lost. I did the same as someone else as well and tested a concord patch order. It's a little like being mugged I should imagine. You could put one of the patches in an envelope for god sake.... $39.95!
How about a response from someone official in the CCP universe? I did send a message to the e-mail address on the store pages, no response as yet. |

I ran into the same problem when I ordered empyrean age and a guristas shirt. The shipping ended up costing more than both of the items I ordered combined. The reason is that for some reason the eve store uses fed-ex for shipping packages, which has by far the most expensive cost for shipping items under around $70-80 dollars. The reason is because they have a flat fee for anything up to that cost, so that is the reason why you see a $30 shipping fee on a $10 mug. They REALLY need to look at a less rediculously expensive company for shipping items in North America (i.e. ANYONE but FEDEX)

Didnt they just come out with flat rate boxes.. where if it fits it ships? (If its cheaper) might be a good idea to look into those...

~70 USD shipping for a ~70 USD order, lol EU. Has been so ever since the store moved to North America. As much as I'd love some apparel.. the magic isn't happening.

Don't do it, its a trick!
First they gouge you on the shipping, then when you leave your station to open the mail box they suicide gank you with a Raven Navy Issue painted like a FedEx truck. Then Empire Waste Management (Suddenly Ninjas) salvages your package while your trying to get your pod back in the station. Its utterly ridiculous and I wish my Homeowners association would put a digital pass-code lock and key on the jump gate into my neighborhood.

So CCP, any comment? I still haven't received anything in response from the Store e-mail. It's so far being resolutely ignored.

dont wait for an answer to be honest. i just lodged a complaint with paypal against them. 2 months, multiple emails, phone call, no answer. and that is for an actual order that they have taken my money on.
they are the worst online retailer i have ever done (tried to do) business with. in all my years of ordering stuff online i have always been able to get a reply to an email. i have always recieved my order and i ve never had any payment issue... until i ordered from the eve store.

There are a number of things off the store I would really like (ie hte beer glass), but frankly CCP can go **** themselves if they think I double the value of hte item ordered for shipping...
It's a shame.
Maybe I'll wait for an EU retailer... maybe by then I'll be too hacked off to even want to grudgingly give you my money Removed. Please keep your EVE signature related to your EVE persona and not that of a real life politician. Navigator |

This is one of the few area's CCP really, really needs to work on. Either get a solid store or scrap it completely. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

FedEx Int' Priority, *THE* most expensive way to ship something to a Canadian residence. Please add a FDX Ground option, I used to work for FedEx.ca so I *know* it exists.

EVE is now almost completely free in the long run, and I don't mind supporting CCP & EVE a bit more this way. Yes the price is pretty killer, but so is my new Amarr shirt

Flawed reasoning sir. All that money isn't going to CCP, it goes to FedEx. So CCP are actually hurting themselves by not putting some effort into a good store experience (read: decent shipping costs). We'd buy more, they'd get more money. That said I sincerely doubt the clothing/fun stuff section of the eve store is actually a significant source of income for them.
It's a simple matter of offering different shipping methods and/or create a shipping hub in europe somewhere. EVE is EU based and has at least 50% EU players so some EU love is in order.

Hi folks,
I followed up with the Operations folks that manage the store to get you a bit more info. They asked if I could pass along the following:
We have been paying attention to your comments, and want you to know that weÆre working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. We have recognized that some locations across the world are more expensive than others, especially those that are farther away from our warehouse in Atlanta, and are looking into more cost effective shipping methods, in particular for Europe and Asia. Currently, for international shipping, we have both FedEx International Priority and FedEx International Economy, but we are looking to expand this further to provide you, the customer, with more options to more locations. For any additional information, you can contact the store directly at [email protected] and A.J., our store guy, is more than happy to help. Thank you for your time and input

Try shipping a longsword from the USA to Europe, then you have a right to complain.

i dont complain and i dont want to compare such different things for 2 t-shirts and 1 sweatshirt i pay 40$ in the eve-store with fedex international priority, other stores take 10$ for the some kind of clothes and, to be correct, there are stores who take 50$ for 3 weeks usps shipping for this
i just wanted to know why are there such huge differences in the shipping costs

Open a EU warehouse already, it's what sensible companies do so they can ship more for less in- and outside the EU on this side of the ocean.
