Why would they? The major changes to them are:
Their name was changed. Loss of triage module. Addition of fighter-bombers for capital warfare.
CCP has made no mention of adding docking capability after revealing these other changes. -- Eventus stultorum magister. |

IMO, I'd like to see supercarriers able to dock. It would give me a huge incentive to train for and buy one, however such a miracle is probably not going to happen. -- Eventus stultorum magister. |

Well the easy excuse for letting supercarriers dock and not Titans is that the supercarrier model is small enough to fit inside the station interiors without clipping the walls. -- Eventus stultorum magister. |

Edited by: Hull Blaster on 28/09/2009 11:52:09 I can understand why a lot of people don't want them to dock, but it's kind of puzzling how a Nyx is actually shorter than an Archon yet can't dock?
Docking Titan's is quite a ridiculous idea, seeing that the axis on an Erebus (sp?) is 15km long lol.
The only problem I see is that if they were dockable, people would be buying them left right and centre... SC spam :(. Saying that, it would be very interesting to see how the Dreadnaught blobs would cope with squadrons of bombers saying "hai!" *BOOOOOOOM*.
The 15billion isk price tag I think would be off putting for a lot of players.

You realise there are dreads larger than some supercarrier models?

I think I might have a solution that suits both people. Let them dock, just not internally.
External docking clamps that let you dock a super-capital, fit stuff, move cargo, and everything else you can normally do while docked with one minor difference. Your ship is still outside and can be shot. Of course while it's attached to the station it will be under the station's "protection" so if someone shoots at your docked super-capital the station turrets will fire on them.
Actually, you know, that doesn't sound like much incentive to not shoot at them while they're docked. ____________________

If CCP wants us to use supercaps more, then they should let them be dockable. No need to do anything else to incentivize us other THAN MAKE THEM DOCKABLE.

I just want to ask you guys a question. If they were given to dock inside a station, how many of you would get one? Considering the huge costs involved, would you be happy investing in such an asset that is guaranteed to become the primary target of any fleet battle?
I for one, would like to have one... but the costs involved are staggering. It would be a LONG time before I could even contemplate owning such a ship.
