Yes, yes, I know, I know...MMOG means interacting with other players.
Well, I don't. My experience with other corps and alliances is that you either get dictators telling you how and when to play, or unreliable punks that are never there for you.
Boy what fun!
I never lose sight of the fact that this is a GAME.
GAME = FUN
When I stop having fun, then it stops being a game. So I'm going at it solo with my two alts and it has been pretty cool. I have goals and objectives....we'll see how it goes.

Solo play does not mean no interacting with other players, just limiting your interaction to destroying their ships and ****ing their corpses.

Yup, but more from the dictates of my real life than anything else.
My play time is limited and I enjoy what I get. There is likely a corp out there that can accommodate me but without a decent reputation system for finding a corp it's a crap shoot that I don't have the time to participate in.
So the solo life in the npc corps for me.

Perhaps, come dominion, there will be better tools for diplomacy, as they hinted. If so, it may be possible to create a federation of solo players, small corps and such. Not an alliance so much as a guild, and no I don't mean wow guilds or whatever they are, never played it. But guilds in the usual meaning of the word, trade guilds, miner guilds, the spacing guild, whatever.

there a lose groups of players especially in lowsec playing together. independant pirates etc. but be aware that everyone in this game can and will try to kill you if you dont have your guard up.

I WAS solo for a long time.. have actual active members in corp now and loving it, especially since one of them is an actual female. I imagine the roster will grow fast once that gets out. Absolutely everything is subjective. |

hello,
I am Ecann and I am a solo player. I do what I want when I want and how I want to do it. Solo is possible but yes you do need to interact with other people. After more than six years of experience I still prefer my alone time fun :-). Okay people don't get perverted. Also it helps that I am a market industrial is not into PVP. I find that no corp. can offer me the ability to make more money for myself than just working for myself. But everybody definitely needs to make their own choice. Making millionaires since 2004. |

My corp is everything your old coprs/allainces is not . How about starting your own corp? There are many mature decent coprs out there, but there is also the kiddy coprs that act like EVE is alpha and omega in life and do not realize RL exist, and that think just because they are CEO they cna do waht they want (If you get into one of these loser corps, suck up to them, get seom rights, steal their stuff, pew pew their ships and leave, and laugh at them and their feeble weak attempts to get back at you or hire "pro pvp mercs").
But other then this OP has no real content other thent the "Dear Diary"

6 years old solo player here too. Though "solo" might be a bit misleading term as I of course have plenty of interaction with other players through the market, resource competition and their desire to shoot me up while I take measures to avoid exactly that. ---------------- Mr. Science & Trade Institute

Lone Wolf with a couple of alts. No regrets. Occasionally run into "sandbox block" (like writer's block - finish something, then have to figure out which direction to go next).
Plenty to chew on in Eve, again attempting to finesse lo-sec with an exploration alt and Mission-runner main, maybe too cautious but haven't got ganked yet.
Funny how Eve corporations are like RL corps. If you have the "joiner" mentality, and can put up with ego-driven decision-making hierarchies, lots of opportunities like that abound in Eve.
The solo mentality takes a different kind of player, as I believe one of Goon's directors quit Eve for awhile as he couldn't make solo play work. One the other hand, I guess he's taken to corporate life real well.
I like the idea of a Lone Wolf alliance, would certainly consider looking into one, but the whole concept may be an oxymoron.

I think "alliance" is the wrong word as it has the Eve connotation to it. If the new Dominion standings system can handle it, then a loose federation could be created. We'll have to wait and see.

I consider myself more of a lone wolf. I interact with individuals that I know but I keep the number low as this allows me to really get to know the gamer. The way I look at it I can either keep my number of friends in the game low so that I can really get to know them or I can join a larger corp and be so bombarded with names, input and so forth that id just get overwelmed.
