Ok I say this as these posts are starting to get to me ....... and god those I have been one of the loudest about the projectile nerf.
Our ships are crap mainly due to the fact we are suppose to be the best damage dealers in the game. Our ships are designed to hit harder than all but be crap out of defence. Hence we should be even with others as the damage makes up for the poor tank.
I DONT BELIVE A TEMP FIX IS POSSIBLE WITH THE TEMPEST OR PROJECTILE.
Why not you ask.
CCP are good at quick fixes and if that was all it took it would have been done by now. CCP lack of defining the problem is the key here I donÆt think they know what the problem is which places it most likely with a line of code that problem affects all weapons hence why they donÆt want to play with it.
It would be so nice to get some feedback from ccp but there lack of communication is most likely due to people whinging and the fact they donÆt know what the problem is. So please let these threads die as something will be done about them after Shiva most likely 2005

Only problem I have with long range projectiles is that due to their low ROF they score far less wrecking hits than all the others.
If they would increase that chance they would be ok imo... they work just fine at over 40km anyway since they`re the sniper guns... as intended.

@jukriamrr that wouldn't fix anything, as the close range gun's would benifit from the increased ammo damage, and they don't need that much of a boost to jusitfy it.
@Lord Anubis i have been complaining about it for just as long as u have i think(2 days after the transverse tracking part's were patched in the game) i went from a helpful attacker, to a waste of space in 1 day, i couldn't even outdamage a 500k BS spawn using ammo it was weak on!, my average hit's were 150 damage, that that was WITH a named project damage mod. the idea i had was for a permantant fix to the problem, it would increase the gun's useablity for extreme long range(which the gun's are suppost to be) and also the usablity at average ranges too. the problem is simple, the tracking of the 1200/1400 guns aren't good enough, and the lasers have just the same ranges but 2 or 3 times the ROF. answer is simple, extend the range and tracking of the large long range project's so they do better damage that they are now(or atleast less misses) and can hit at a much greater range(so they out-do the max laser ranges)

There isn't any good temporary fix. But CCP come on, at least a bump up in CPU/PG or even drone bay would help make the Tempest more useful.
Too many Tempest pilots don't have the skills/don't want to wait to retrain another BS to be useful.

There isn't any good temporary fix. But CCP come on, at least a bump up in CPU/PG or even drone bay would help make the Tempest more useful.
Too many Tempest pilots don't have the skills/don't want to wait to retrain another BS to be useful.

I think the tempest needs abit more pg and longer lockrange (many say that 1400 is a longrange ship, so why does it have so poor lockrange, and the bonus on the typhoon, whats it there for if you cant lock that range?). In my opinion its gallente that should be the longrange fighters and mega short, and tempest should be "medium" range fighters. But the thing that realy needs to be fixed is the turrets, it doesnt stand a chanse against a average gankageddon, even if its optimized for dmg and almoust no defence. (Just look what darth solo posted about his test.) A boost in dronebay or something else like that is just stupid imo, its the guns that are the big problem here. I HATE to see tempests with mega pulse lasers.....
And dont bring up "your a slave race bla bla bla..." or something like that.

Well, I think we can wait the 1 week until release for them to start working on fixing our ships, so by now a temp fix isn't all that necessary. We've been getting by with what we have, it shouldn't be much longer. --------------

from what i gathered, they never said anything like that. they said It WOULDN'T be looked into until after shiva(exodus) is release. just because they were busy with shiva, they didn't want to put any extra workload on the staff to fix the guns. this however means they don;t have to look into it after shiva is released, i mean... shiva is release on 17th(still ontime i think) then it'll be another 2-3 weeks so all the unexpected bug's get fixed(nothing can be 100% fool-proof when dealing with 10k+ people using every asepect of a game) then after that the dev's will have a well deserved break
so your looking at about jan 2005 before it's even looked into again, then it'll take the dev's atleast a month to work out what's the best way to fix them, do testing, make sure it's not the uber killing machine it was before the gimp, and then patch the fixes in.
so. in total it'll be feb/match 2005 before it COULD be fix. and that's allway hoping they get on it as soon as possible.
and that the dev's/gm's haven't said it was even on top of there to-do list after shiva hit's.

So where are we now? Not hitting your target that often and the combo with bad rof and the lower damage/ammunition type (projectiles have lesser damage ammunition) the result is only one. Really poor performance. If they can screw something up, they should fix it before a lot of new fancy stuff hit the ômarketö. What you break you fix. Simple.

i've given up and started training caldari ships and guns... after the loss of my 6'th tempest in 3 months its either that or i leave. would use some abusive language for the lost time in training minmatar bs and proj guns, but hay CCP dont give a flying badgers nads what there customers think unless they use amar ships.. once feared was the Tempest, now a joke to the hole eve comunity.. makes u want to puke !

i tryed a setup using tech2 projectiles damage mods and 1400mm tech1 guns on a typhoon, 4 tech2 dam mods and all the meduim slot's full of named tracking and STILL the wreaking shot's were at most 300, and that's with the short range ammo on(phased plasma and titanium sabot's at just over there op range) i could put megapulse1's on my typhoon and get better damage per hit, and they fire 2 or 3 times faster then projectiles.
please reply to this post for the sake of all the minmatar people that are waiting for a reply, and those that have already got sick of the no-answers and have already dumped the minmatar ship's for the alternate battleships
