I tried formatting it but... the formatting options are rather primitive. I did indeed use line breaks and I organized my words and thoughts to make it easier but there is only so much I can do. I felt that the information could be (but surely is not!) important to CCP. Personally, it is not relevant whether or not any of their customers read it.
And no, I am not giving away my stuff. I am not rage quitting. I will check back in a few years and see if anything relevant has changed. It would be nice to "start over" with a large amount of resources.

I ask because I have not experienced this nor has anyone I am in contact with, and usualy a memory leak (sound related or not) is fairly universal. I personally keep the sound on in EVE, which puts me in the minority I am sure. I know three people with the same issue, two of us have the same sound cards (onboard RealTek HD, but different drivers) but one has a completely different chipset. It certainly seems to be a minority issue though from the feedback we've received.
RealTek can sometimes have some very odd behavior, and unfortunatley they are very commonly found. I hope it gets resolved for you. When I check troll in the dictionary, it has a photo shopped picture of you standing somewhere in the vicinity of a point.

The bizarre thing is, I've never had any issues with RealTek at all. I actually threw away my Sound Blaster card because the RT onboard was so much better for games. The only issue started with the Crucible update, which was even more arcane since (as far as I know) the sound system wasn't touched in any way.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious, but I'm trying really hard not to ride this guy too hard.
Still, it would be interesting to hear what he comes up with if asked what game software titles he has developed, or what software he has had a significant role in developing of any kind that involved 50k people or so all concurrently interacting in hundreds of thousands different ways on a single shard server. When I check troll in the dictionary, it has a photo shopped picture of you standing somewhere in the vicinity of a point.

Of course, that doesn't explain the multitude of bugs that were reported months beforehand and were well known before every expansion, yet were never acted upon until unleashed on the main server and enough people raged and threatened to quit about them. But you seem too busy trolling to be bothered by something as inconvenient as history. When something is pointed out on the test server, if scheduling allows it should be looked into and fixed asap. However if the bug is relatively minor in a game that receives constant updates such fixes are often relegated to a post release schedule. What is more often the case is that something NOT discovered during testing on Sisi becomes a big problem, and people begin raging about a lack of quality control. Those people fail to understand how code can behave differently when up under different load conditions. Does that put things more in perspective for you, or would you rather continue ignoring the main (and very factual) point of my post...
Amazing, you just admitted the reason I am cancelling my accounts and dismissed it as being proper for the industry. "If scheduling allows", "release schedule", "post release schedule", etc. These may be the industry norm, but Eve is the only part of the industry that I ever see since I do not play any other massively multiplayer online games. If this is the state of the industry, then none of them will get my money. I do not accept such a poor experience with other products I buy. I will not accept it here either. Perhaps the industry needs to grow up?

if you spared no expense on your uber desktop gaming machines, because you like to game and all, why would you spend that kind of cash on a Macbook Pro that in comparison in price, you could have bought an alienware laptop? Then you complain about your Macbook Pro performance while gaming, when you do not have a gaming laptop? you buy gaming machines for gaming don't you? and since when does having a gaming machine mean you cannot use said gaming machine for, i don't know, EVERYTHING ELSE you could need to use it for |

i stopped reading right there...
you obviously have no idea what you're talking about. you don't have a clue how extremely complicated the code is that runs this game we play. frankly, i'm amazed it works as well as it does. there are so many variables that interact and that are able to create situations that the developers never imagined.
i think the team of CCP developers are some of the most talented people on the planet. go ahead and call me a fanboy, but at the end of the day, you're not only a noob in eve, you're a noob in RL.
good riddance.

You should probably just chuck your laptop or pc in the trash as well because the same process happens on your Operating system. Same goes for your smart phone. And your blueray. And possibly your tv..... Do you smell what the Lock's cooking? |

Look, it is not REALLY important whether or not I am a programmer. What is important is the experience that I am having and whether or not I am enjoying it vs the amount of money I am paying.
Just for the hell of it though... log in to IRC on efnet and go to channel #c. Say this in the channel: calc bjarne
I wrote that bot. I am unsure how else to show you over a forum... but as I said, my credentials as a programmer are irrelevant. |

Whether or not YOU miss me is irrelevant. It is whether or not CCP will miss my money. I doubt that CCP will miss my money, it is only a few hundred a year right between my all of my accounts, right? And I am only one person amongst... well, only about 30k active at any given time but lately, fewer.
This was supposed to go into my cancellation notice but did not. I posted it here for CCP, not for morons to second guess whether or not I should be enjoying myself even if I am not. I guess I should have expected it but this was my first post ever in these forums.

... and would have it patiently explained to you that any issues discovered that can be and have been rectified via a software update are not, in fact, defects.
I doubt you could find a piece of software anywhere on the planet that is 100% bug free.
You may have actually meant well, in a snarky kind of way, in posting this thread... but you have to understand that when you make a post as full of inaccuracy and exhibiting such a fundamental lack of knowledge of how these processes (of necessity) must work you are going to get called on it.
Regardless, as I said before, I wish you well with whatever game (if any) you end up trying next. When I check troll in the dictionary, it has a photo shopped picture of you standing somewhere in the vicinity of a point.

Meh, why not one more response to a moron/troll?
I will accept that I am self-entitled as soon as you accept a lesser value for your money than you think it is worth. Would you pay $100k for a Hyundai? Would you keep taking that Hyundai back to the same maintenance shop if they were not really maintaining your car very well? Even the dimmest moron would not do such things (I hope!).
Hm. I just realized why I should not post one more response (but will anyways). Never argue with a moron. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
I have to admit, you folks can be quite hilarious. I can see why you act so stupid. It is great fun trolling. The only problem is that you still look stupid.

My desktop has Realtek HD audio and it never had this issue. Maybe it is some odd combination of devices that causes this to happen? If that is the case, then I don't think it would necessarily be CCPs fault for not testing every single possible PC configuration. |
