Looks good, Local! Try doing the same thing in 640x512 and see what you think of the results. Other than that, looks like you're well on your way! -

P4 2.6GHz ASUS P4P800 MB 1.0 GB PC4000 RAM 1x 36GB SATA Raptor HD 1x 250GB SATA HD ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256 MB WIN XP Pro SP1
FYI - Even with the lastest version of FRAPS, SP2 on XP Pro cuts my FPS down to 1/3 of normal. This is not an uncommon problem and has been covered at length in other threads. -

AMD Athlon XP 2600+ 1.92GHz ASUS A7V8X 1536MB PC2700 DDR-SDRAM NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 WIN XP Pro SP1 2 x WD 80MB/8MB Cache/2700
I reverted to SP1 because I could no longer run both my accounts after installing SP2. I was not aware of the Fraps and SP2 issue.
-->>Did anyone of you tried Gamecam instat of fraps? I have never tried that Deovina.

Vid looks great so far but then again I'm biased.
Seriousily though the clarity of the video is pretty good considering it's size, I've watched many eve vids that were 10x larger and the quality was nowhere near that.

p4 2.6HT w/ 800MHz fsb kingston hyperX 1024mb ddr400 x800xt vivo 256mb ram 1x 160gb sata 1x 120 gb sata 2x 80 gb ide xp pro sp2 fraps 2.2.5 premiere pro 1.5
is what I'm running. Concerning frames just starting recording seems to drop my fps down to 25-20ish in space with other ships around, haven't checked out on the singularity yet how the shiva patch will effect fps, haven't had a proper large scale combat happen yet, atleast so far. In an intresting moment the first thing I did with the new graphics card was start EVE and see what gains I had in EVE and to my dismay I at first with my old settings was still seeing just 25fps inside the station(that's at 1280x1024). Once I went higher though it seemed there was almost no loss of frames, but I did run into another problem, text in 1600x1200 and beyond is really tiny :( . I'm running EVE with all the goodies on although that's prolly also questionable since sun occlusion and so forth all take their share of the processor pie.
Since it's a vivo card I think it has the possibility to do hardware coding of video aswell, but so far I haven't had a chance to test that successfully. Does anyone know about how to do that? ________________________________

Edited by: Mean Jeebus on 27/10/2004 21:15:41 My best friend is a programmer for the NewTek VideoToaster. Has anyone tried using one of those for this stuff along with their capture and editing software?
I was thinking of 'borrowing' one and trying it out.

Most Linux distros also come with streaming encoders for MPG and AVI, which are the only 2 standardized compression formats, and therefore the only 2 you should use.
AVI for one isn't any specific compression format, it's just a container, such as OGG, Matroska and bunch of others. DivX, Xvid, MPEG-4, pretty much every codec's output can be encompassed inside "an" AVI.
