We're not paid 500 mil a week, it's a flat fee. One payment, one corporation.
edit: And you got the number wrong.

Hey, I'm just quoting what you folks told me.
Flat fee? Being a merc isn't as lucrative as I thought.

You don't think that's a lot of money? Wow. Did you know that GHSC is probably the most expensive merc corp in Eve?

Sure, it's a significant sum of money. But what if the war lasts for a long time?

It's a risk we're willing to take. War lasting a long time is not a bad thing in our books.

So far I'm pretty underwhelmed. I figured a mercenary corp would be actually willing to put up a fight, but it seems that Guiding Hand can only grief defenseless newbie mining corps, as soon as someone puts up a serious fight they log off or dock and talk a lot in local.

Is that the mining/production corp definition of 'serious fight' whereby the odds are between 6:1 and 8:1 in their favor? I know anything less then 4:1 in their favor is considered ganking. -------------------------------------------- CONCORD: Kneecapping Pilots for Misdemeanors Since 2003 |

What happened tonight Istvaan? All we saw of your "merc corp" was you flying around some, and staying out of range. It was pretty boring, I thought we were going to have some fun.

Yes, I'm sure the CEO can't afford the loss, seeing as how you're being totally ineffective at preventing them raking in money. For the most expensive merc corp in eve you're doing a pretty poor job.

Quote: War lasting a long time is not a bad thing in our books.
Since you've been a paid a flat fee, a long war should be a bad thing in your books, since your hourly profit goes down with every second that ticks off the clock. Eventually, your pilots will tire of fighting for no ongoing rewards and lose interest. In the flat-fee situation, a war of attrition and harassment works in your victim's favor; all he has to do is wait you out.
Agreeing to a long engagement for a flat fee is short sighted, and strikes me as poor leadership.

Yep, that's the point I was trying to make.

Regardless, it's still not a great business decision.
