We have the Minmatar one ready as well, but linking is slightly messed up for it...should be sorted out next week. We weren't going to announce it until they were all prepped...but, as per normal, we have some very astute fans.
CCP Manifest will we get the fanfast videos? What about video sustainable as wallpapers? These videos are nice but not what many of us asked for. Please dont say these videos are instead of what we all wanted. The videos do not make good wallpapers which is what this thread is about.
don't worry they will work just fine in a few days time.

We therefore decided to make three entirely new videos to represent the other races as a thank you for waiting for them." I am a bit confused here. From what I have seen of the original Amarr one it was mostly a static camera that didn't fly all over the place real fast making it a perfect wallpaper video. The Amaar one you gave us the camera fly's all over making it worse as a desktop wallpaper. Is there any chance of getting just the originally Amaar one with the slow mostly static camera?
For example watch http://www.youtube.com/ccpgames#p/u/5/M6E4dDDUF90 20seconds and the camera has not moved. 2mins 11 seconds in and the camera is still pointing at the same command ship. The 3 min mark shows another great example. There is camera movement but it's very slow and subtle. That makes it a perfect wallpaper in my mind. can we please have the wallpapers like this? Or at least just the Amaar original one.
EDIT: Is the Amaar original one 100% the same as the one you gave us, only the original is playing back at am much slower speed? In which case could you please say how much slower so we can re-edit it? I would love to see the playback speed just the same as fanfest as that was perfect in my mind.
but they loop perfectly, and have monotone color. They move very very slowly.
and everyone else so far is jsut happy with them as wallpapers.
If you want wallpapers of just ships, then use fraps, record your ship in station, and use it as a wallpaper.

I would be perfectly happy if I could just get them to play back smoothly and at the speed in the fanfest video. The fanfest video is perfect, one of the best thing CCP ever did. But speeding the whole thing up to fit into 4 minuets destroys the feel of the video for me. Anyone know how much to slow down the videos to match the fanfest video?
I persoanlly think 4-5 mins is pretty damn slow.
but that's my opinion, I really like them.
But here is the other thing you might not be thinking of.
I can go right now, and slow the video down to 20 mins for you. But it's going to be 700Mb a file, and it's going to take forever to render it too, like 5 hours on my system.
but your welcomed to go ahead and slow them down if your not happy.
or like I said jsut made it with fraps on your own. I think they make the best wallpapers I've ever had.

I don't want to have 5 or more attempts at getting it to the right speed due to the time it takes to render.
CCP vid is way better then anything I can do with fraps.
EDIT: Thanks CCP Manifest, I will try both x5 and x10 slower.
to save you soem time, take a 10 second cut of the video and slow it down 10 times and then slow it down 20 times. This way you only have to render a small part to see if it's moving at the speed your looking for.
as long as your system can handle it that's your best bet.

I believe you are correct. The Fanfest stage version was moving REALLY slow. Like grass growing or ice mining. I think that, because of the speed and the size, there were a lot more frames and that obviously blasted roof off the filesize accordingly. I don't know the percentage speed comparison and I'm not sure the video guys can provide that answer. I THINK what used to take about 20-30 mins (?) was cut a bit and is now down to 4 minutes? So, if someone's really interested in redoing them, maybe a 5x to 10x slow down would be in order to get Pottsey his dream video?
got a question for you.
The gallente one is immpossible to cut correctly to loop. You have ti moving right into the fade. This means that my looped videos fade out at the end, so you made it so that it couldn't loop. : (
