i know not allowed in eve online.
but what if you are the one imitating youre character via an alt??
Lets say I was to be excepted into a corp with dierectors roles as part of an agreement and I was to join with an alt called "1ady Aja" then i stole everything and contracted ( so it cant be seen by contract history ) it to my self to hide the fact that I did it with an alt that looked like me.
would i get banned?
Why are you reading my Sig for dumbass?

Edit: EULA
You will be assigned a login name and a character name during the registration and character creation process. You may not allow anyone to use your login name or character name to access the System or play EVE. No player may use the character name of another player to impersonate or falsely represent his or her identity. You may not obtain, attempt to obtain, use or attempt to use the login name or character name of anyone else.
You're using your character to impersonate another in-game character. (even if it is your own character)I'm sure there is a lot of gray area here, but I'm not sure it's a risk I'd be willing to take.

AFAIK impersonation only becomes an issue if the person being impersonated makes it an issue.

Actually, I'd use lark as an example. He hasn't been banned, so I guess it is ok. You may not be able to pretend that 1ady aja isn't you. Like I said, there is kind of a gray area, but I'd be interested to know, if you petition it, send me an eve-mail and let me know.

How can you falsely represent your own identity?
EDIT: I can only assume this is for some half hearted scam/theft attempt. Really, if you're going to do it then do it with your main or a completely clean alt, not some half caste semi alt, you'll just end up looking even more pathetic when it all goes horribly wrong. You can't say that Larkonis TrassIer is Larkonis Trassler. You as the person are the same, but you're impersonating another character ingame.
I'm assuming your trying to scam the corp, by blaming them for giving rights to the wrong character, and then you look like you were scammed by a person that doesn't exist, freeing yourself of blame. I get the point, but you're playing with fire.

Ok, but if you make a character to impersonate another "character" that you have then you aren't impersonating another "person". ------

That seems unequivocally clear that you can impersonate yourself.

A few years back I got contacted by some guy telling me his CEO had all his accounts banned, apparantly the guy was impersonating me.
I had no idea he had been impersonating me or gotten banned for it until this guy told me :P
So it's risky.

I don't see where you are imitating yourself. You join a corp on an alt they know about, steal everything and contract it yourself. Seems fine. á á

Go re read the EULA and take in what it actually means.
In fact let me help you out.. "No player may use the character name of another player to impersonate or falsely represent his or her identity."
Meaning, you cant attempt to impersonate another PLAYER (as opposed to character).. Obviously saying "Hi I'm Lark (or Larks alt)" is against the EULA when your not actually Adam Ridgway IRL..

Or in Larkonis Trasslers world it only becomes an issue when he wants to start a thread about himself and convince the whole of C&P that hes so famous someone wants to make an alt pretending to be him (only sociopaths and madmen are this desperate larky)..
Look at me!! Look at me!! Will the real Adam Ridgway please stand up, please stand up!!!
Why do I recognise this char?? hmmmm.....(also this was the edit)

I didn't know this was against the T&C - interesting post.
My toon was involved with a corporation called "Tides of Silence" before and apparently the previous owner had some kind of trouble with them on account of an argument in their corp chat. They told him they were going to "ruin the game" for him after he left, and now I get these random flames about being a corp thief from people I've never met, let alone stole anything from. Now I'm seeing people in other corps posting this too in "pile on" fashion.
I was just ignoring the flames until recently a corporation I was enjoying very much, "Gallente Mining and Manufacturing", kicked me out as a response to flames about being a thief and disbanding people's alliances.
Is there anything I can do about this?

This may be fun or funny to you but for me it actually got me kicked out of a group I really liked and may make it difficult for me to earn the trust of individuals in the game.

Maybe if you told us what really happened we'd have a little more sympathy for you.
So far we got "I'm being accused of scamming, but I'm innocent, they just picked my name out of local and chose me to target for no reason."
A) You scammed B) You made someone mad enough to ruin your "e-life" C) The corp that kicked you out didn't seem to like you the same way you liked them D) All of the above.

Edited by: Cattegirn on 12/10/2009 14:46:16 Edited by: Cattegirn on 12/10/2009 14:45:30 Dawts, there was no scamming -- that is the point. No, it has nothing to do with sympathy. No, it was not some random thing out of local. One fellow gets into an argument with a corp mate and decides he'll post something nasty about him. Another person wandering through the thread decides it would be funny to "confirm" this. Then another fellow jumps on and says the guy disbanded an alliance. None of it is truth, it's just a game for a few individuals. But it results in my character getting a "precautionary" boot from a corp.
I know it isn't "fair"; that was not the question. I was wondering if it is against CCP's gaming rules. It's not a sympathy request at all.
