And yes, I am looking for solo pvp a lot of the time. The npc's are not balanced at all. Thankfully, CCP acknowledged this and I hope a fix is incoming.

In a gang, sure, the rats aren't an issue. (unless I am speed tanking a full spawn, and then I can't participate in any pvp that comes along). But going off solo, which I like to do a lot, I know that even if I get a fight in a plex I'm likely to be jammed part way through (unless I can kill all the rats first, and then it leads to standing loss with caldari. Even then, the rats can spawn in the middle of a pvp fight). Lets look at fw missions: I ran those with zeal for a while in my rifter, getting beacons in tama etc (and the rats are a LOT easier, one spawn instead of 4. Much faster to get rid of them too). I also got a reward, and didn't have to sit there for 10 minutes if no-one was there. A full list of why I don't like to plex? 1) Requires a high slot to scan the plexes down 2) Rats 3) No reward for sitting there (unlike fw missions), even if pvp comes a badly timed rat spawn/ecm ruins my day (and ECM in and of itself is also an area we disagree about a lot, but you know I hate it :) ) 4) Shooting the rats drops my caldari standing That's all I can think of right now, and there's probably more. Yes, if the rats were gone I'd probably still want to "claw my eyes out" sitting in a plex and rather run fw missions to get LP if no-one comes. But the urge would be lessened since I'd know if pvp came along I could actually have a good fight without being jammed. What do I love about plexes? The size restricted fights. Give it a reward comparable to fw missions (which people are running like mad), balance the caldari rats to match the other races (or just get rid of them altogether). I think that would be a major improvement. Bonus points if I can locate plexes without scanning, but using a separate ship to scan would be comparable to going and getting a fw mission from an agent.

If so, that's kind of lame. It used to be you could spawn them with the onboard scanner. Oh no, if you are willing to warp to every planet in a system, you can still usually find planets manually, but it takes a lot longer.

No way a single stealth bomber would survive the mission, as the DPS comes in heavy from 100km out (need to keep one large repper going in pretty much all the level 4's even with the right hardeners), and in a domi I spend around 50%-75% of my time jammed. As far as chasing you out of missions... "these are not the carebears you are looking for" has got to be one of my favourite quotes seen in faction warfare so far :)

chatgris Quantum Cats Syndicate	Posted - 2009.10.26 17:50:00 - [8] WHY THE ITALICS!? In my experience, you can definitely do fw missions and avoid pvp, just like many plexers currently do. However, getting a minor mission in Tama can be great fun. Pop it, kill the rats, and wait for a while. No scanner required, get it where you want it without hoping there is a plex of the size you want near where wt's might be. Bonus points for challenging pirates in local as well :) And greg6... the roam to get the missions is my favourite part! It's an opportunity for pvp along the way. /me loves roaming in his rifter
