1 year does not make you a vet
Basically, you're gonna get bored after roughly 12 months. How you deal with this i.e. make an alt, find some neew toys, take a break is up to you.
I play much less now after more than 2 years, things start to lose their flavour and other games become intersting again. But EVE is always a good game, and I keep coming back every month or so. EVE Trivia EVE History

2 years playing, 3 Characters started from scratch.
Some days i simply spin ships and talk to corp mates, other days RL is just an annoyance to get out of the way before i can play eve.
The thing that drives me on is the next big shiney. I havent flown everything yet, and until i get all the ships i want, i'll keep paying and playing.

4 years here and going strong. Eve has been the only MMO since UO to hold my attention for more than 30 days.

Born 2006 and this game is still thrilling while killing.
The problems I see with a great MMORPG like EVE: highly addictive, time consuming, not really made for the serious reallife. I can imagine there are a lot of people ruining their reality and most of the strong guys ruling bigger corps and alliances could be eventually rich in rl if they would invest that energy into an own business.
Overall my conclusion is: the day has 24 hours and if that is not enough we play EVE.
So say we all!

I feel old. It's kinda cool to be talking about the old days, when vagabonds were frightening, battleship kills were rare and 0.0 was actually inhabited by players.
Some of my old lads has stopped playing, but this game got me going. It is something that sticks with you, always lurking to get you back.

2yrs and will be playing until they close down the server. Best game ever. I take breaks like most people, but they seldom last longer than a week or 2.
It's the only game i know where reading about it is almost as fun as actually playing it. It's just so damn interesting..from a lot of different points of view

I've really enjoyed EVE.
I came to EVE during the great NGE exodus from SOE's SWG. There were a lot of us that came, I think the population doubled in less than 6 months and is now much larger still. If SOE had never messed up SWG not sure I would have tried EVE.
My only disappointment really has been the lack of ambulation (incarna) that has been talked about for years now.
Thoughts expressed are mine and mine alone. They do not necessarily reflect my alliances thoughts.

Any game that can keep me interested longer then 3 months is a good game in my book. I have been playing Eve since August of 2006.
I like the different types of ships and what you can load on em. Some people may not like this but I like that it does take a long time to get skills to do things in this game. It makes the game interesting to me. I don't get the feeling of "I have now done everything, bored now". And I do like the people I play with in the game. We are all *******s. I have found like minded people to play with. ************************************************* I have three characters. One has Cov Ops V along with all the bells and whistles that goes with it. |

EVE is one of the best MMO's I've played and has been my primary form of entertainment for several years now. Its ever evolving nature; the lack of playstyle constraints; real time skill training; and the overall complexity has made it a far more mentally taxing experience.
And much like previous games, the time invested to date does prevent me from even trying other games because I really do not want to start from scratch again.

Edited by: Lunewraith on 15/10/2009 16:54:05 I finally bought a PS3 the weekend RvB started. Total playtime on the PS3, about 2 hrs inc. setup. Total time spent in EVE, about 48 hrs out of 72 that weekend alone.
EVE is still the best game ever imo. Doubt I'll ever completely stop playing.

there is only one other MMO game that is superior to EVE - it's called real life, featuring over 6 billion subscribers and jaw-dropping beauty and complexity
barring that EVE is the coolest MMO out there

The fact that this game kept 6 year vets and continue to grow in subs, and CCP continue to expand the game with free expansions for such a niche market, makes this game the best Sandbox rpg ATM, and unless something real ground breaking comes out, it will never die.

So canceling your account instead of keeping it so you could participate in the discussion that resulted in the Internal Affairs section being setup was the rational meanigful response? Yes I'm certain that you emorage quiting eve influanced that outcome when it came down to it when you consider they just booted OVER 9000 paying macro accounts.
