I like it! great improvement.. but.. don't get me wrong here, I know it's like this everywhere in eve, but it struck me right away.
It really looks like the market window.
I like when you changed the fitting window to be more one of kind, so when you opened it you knew it was for something different without breaking visual style...
Maybe the mail window could have a Flare all of it's own? say... Some of that PnP stuff? Like a little map window that is set to show all friends in space? it wouldn't be readble but you could be like, oh hey! someone I know is in space! open map. ?
MOstly thought it would be some kinda of visual communcation artsy stuff.
Sorry I can't think of something better but just remember, "if it looks good, it is good"

ok this looks really bad but I have to finish my 3d homework!
But still I hope it gives you an idea of what can be done I really want to go back and make this look more professional , it's kinda embarrassing...

but like my teacher always says, "wtf" whats that for. Simple answer, To make it stand out from the market UI. Eve doesn't have to be spreadsheets online anymore.

actully maybe I'll really push it, There is so much more than could be done. Like the hidhing the right side where you read the me-mails untill you click on it. Which animates a screenless screen, (like in sci0fi) to open up and have your mail on it.

I like the functionality of the new mail system - the way you can forward and reply to all evemails etc. and especially being able to view your sent mail (this has been missing for such a long time and will end those rare but annoying occasions where you had to ask someone to mail you back what you sent them), but i'm not a fan of the new layout.
One of the things i always thought CCP made better than other non-gaming companies was their mailing system. I love the fact that you list all the mails by the character name/avatar so they are sectioned off. I can't see why this needs to change and of what the benefit it will be.
I strongly oppose this particular change in the new mail system, so if there's anything you can do to implement that option again, i think it would be a big improvement. I'm also not a fan of the way mailing lists are listed in a drop-down box. Again, the tab system was unique to EVE, but i can see why you've done it.
But please reconsider the grouping of mails by character.
agreed, one of the tabs up top should be a by character mail, and should look like the old mailling system but with all the new features.
Being able to see mail by character is VERY useful in eve.
