Well isn't it the same tactics which Wolfy took in the moment u start to loose iskies in Tama?
I think that this honor/respect is bull in a space full of ganking, espionage, outblobing and scam. it is like WW1 pilot dueling style in modern war where cruise missiles are hitting u on hundreds kms. i dont like some methods too, but only because they were used on me so I am adapting (same as PERVS did).

You have to be kidding snake! After spending almost a year purely pvping some of our members funds where running dry so it was an ideal oppourtunity to try something new. We did, we didn't like it, we came back. How is that comparable to putting up a pos in gal high sec (great idea), shouting about it on eve-o and then pulling the corp out of fw when it looks like they might loose? We was all looking forward to the epic fight and it never came thanks to the cowerdice shown by pervs.
I was wrong to think that the caldari would fight with honour, I guess the 2 months spent in 0.0 gave me rose tinted glasses. Lesson learnt! Yesterday 5 wolfy engaged a 22 man cladari fleet for ****zngiggles, we lost but we fought and had a great time. Try it sometime, you might enjoy yourselves!

This has nothing to do with honor. Yesterday I had BC gang (21 people - 10 bcs) and we ganked frogs in low sec ... later on I get intel on ur BS heavy gang(s) so I decided to lead them home. On the gate to ichoryia we decided we dont like our BCs anymore and we will rush into kinda suicide assault (there was massive fleet vote) and yes we fought outnumbered against BS heavy gang. So I know the feeling, but despite the feeling we lost so I have to adapt to be better later and lure u into better trap. :) anyway I suck as FC (but it is still fun ;) )

please get glasses or get a brain. FFS. If its not clear enough in the last page you really need glasses. I think its pretty obvious that if a corp gets in FW, it doesn't necessarily mean that the whole FW militia members will accept them. Look at PERVS pos event and Gavin...
All I have to say is there could be so much done in villore with that POS against the Gal but ...

Actually this is the same situation as a corporation leaving alliance to save POS. That has been in game for a long time and is still not an exploit.
Actually it is considered an exploit if it is done multiple times, but not the first

Edited by: Astra Solare on 22/10/2009 13:21:04 Well, about different opinions - same action might be smart tactical move or cowardly move depending on fact is this your friend or enemy ;)
For example:
Situation I. Small Wolfy gang (a) fights one caladari militia member (b).
Situation II. Big caldari militia blob (a) fights small Wolfy gang (b).
In both cases (a) might be accusing of blobing as well as say that they are right to use their advantage in numbers. As well as (b) might be called cowards when running away or say that they do "tactical maneuver - retreat".
Similar is situation III. Big Gallente blob (a) is fighting lonely PERVS POS (b).
So with all repect but I see double standarts here in some Gallente posts. And some people (who is shaming PERVS in this tread) are not so white and shiny knights as they might think about themselves.

GM Said it might be because they left the alliance/fw for other reasons and that they can't actually prove what their intentions at first was, unless they do it multiple times
Or they're just lazy, these exploits have been in the game and used for quite a while now, although a lot more often used in alliances rather than fw, the only way you can counter it with alliances is to leave your own alliance with your corp an hour or so before the 24 hour cool down ends, when you leave the alliance the cool down will start again giving you enough time to kill the pos
But for fw, I have no idea what you could do

???? You are either liar or just simply dont bother to think even a little.
This is EVE this is not WOW. Nobody in right state of mind will fight lost fight unless forced (or in rare case is ****ed off and angry as hell). Because here nobody spawns on graveyard with his ship and loot intact. And lost ships and stuff cost money and time. People who is fighting against force that is outblobing them have more money than brains because they will be LOOSING ISKs as well that will in time result in bankrupcy (depends on ship and mods expences and amount of fights against outnumbering enemy).
What you said was simply ridiculous crap or lies.

Astra I can link killboards for you but its not worth it. You've obviously never fought against us or you'd know we fight because its fun not because we are going to win (which incidently most times we do )
All Pervs had to do was get the miltia to turn up and help defend the pos (a task simular to the one the gallente had to achieve to get the numbers to take the pos into reinforce in the first place), the fight would have been epic with hundreds of people involved. Instead they just took the easy way out and denied everyone involved what promised to be the fight of the gallente/caldari war. Thats why PERVS have lost so much respect because they robbed us all of what would have been an amazing fight/

Because people enjoy the fighting, whether you win or lose (everyone prefers to win ofc!) You do play the game to have fun dont you?
Also, back on topic - The Pervs deserved (and got from a lot of people including me as i thought it was a great idea) big props for what they came up with here, but unfortunately lost all that kudos the second that POS was pulled from FW - Bit of a shame.
And another vote from me to have instant war dec facility!

And it's the exact same mechanic causing issues in both cases.
We thought we were going to have an amazing fight on our hands against WOLFY, but no, you were just interested in ganking a couple people in the fleet while the rest couldn't do anything.
In both cases, you and PERVS both took actions that would 'even the playing field' against a larger group of enemies by making it so only a small selection of said enemies could freely attack you. You did the exact same thing, and any attempt to claim the moral high ground for you while denying it to PERVS is pretty laughable.

Uh. I am so sick of both sides playing the stupid, "We're better than you because we fight when we know we will lose," card.
Neither side, as a group, fights when it thinks it will lose as a general way of going about things. I've flown with both Wolfie and SoFT and, as a habit, neither of them will engage when they are sure they will lose. Nor will my own corp, Q-cats. There are individual examples of doing so, but they tend to be rare and the exception that proves the rule.
OTOH, I've been in Wolfie fleets that outnumbered and outshipped the known BIDY targets and *ran* from those BIDY because, "everyone knows BIDY drops caps." I've seen SofT and MDP fleets run from the war target spike in local before anyone even gets a count of how many WTs have jumped in, and, as a result, I've seen us run from fleets we outnumbered. And, from the outside, I've seen the caldari seem to do the exact same thing.
Eve is a never ending battle to be the guy who brings a gun to a knife fight. Everyone is equally guilty of trying to outnumber and out ship their opponent, other than a very few individual pilots (Chatgris comes to mind) who really do engage when it doesn't look good for them. But they are the exceptions, not the rule, and there aren't enough of them in any corp I've ever flown with, or against, to say that their behavior is the entire corp's behavior.
We're all equally gamers, folk, and none of us are any "better," that the next guy when it comes to this topic, IMHO.

You can war dec corporations in fw normally. So you can ensure that if pos owner corporation leave milita you have wardec ready and running after next downtime when corporations enter and exit fw. Gallente just failed that part. If there is non sheduled server restart leaving militia may happen faster, but that did not happen in this case.
