I use xfire, but only because I once used it a lot with Quake-based games.
Tbh it could do with A) Less juvenile advertisements and B) Less juvenile skins.
EDIT: And why the hell do you care about people using xfire anyway? They don't ask you to advertise their software, stop being such a fanboy.

People who play eve have no need to know how many hrs they've been playing. We already know we spend way too many hours in EVE.
As for Chat programs, who needs ANOTHER damned chat program.
And who cares how high or low EVE is ranked. It's about hours played, NOT about customer satisfaction.

I find xfire to be a really good video capture tool. Certainly better than fraps and way easier to use.
The IM stuff is handy since it's my only IM client other than steam.. oh, and gtalk...
It used to be a real resource hog but these days, I never notice it. Nice little app really.
