*I* fully expect to live until 120. I would agree that 50-60 is late middle age. The only reason people don't last long is because they think they will live forever at 18- and do stupid stuff X)

Hey i witnessed a 60+ climb Kilimanjaro 2 weeks ago, so ~10+ is a piece of cake :)
In Hungarian we say "elj sokaig" for new born's and at birthdays - it meas leave for more longer! That goes for whomever is the oldest eve player (and his parents also where applicable :) )

We HAd a Korean War vet in our corp a while ago, he wasn't really into pew pew as much as the rest of us at the time, so he left and joined an 0.0 alliance. he still plays the game and keeps in touch.
I hope I'm with it enough to play MMO's when i'm 70+ as well

Hey Maxx, sounds like we went down the same path...JES2 assembler mods/machine code zaps, local TSO commands, xmem services, etc. I'm still amazed by how much, oh, say, Windows OS has taken directly from MVS from 20+ years ok.
Been gaming the entire time.

from 57 up to his death (61) 
he was retired and would religiously wake up on weekends , make coffee and play eve
he would not solo pvp , but would enjoy his blackbird or other caldari support ship with me as scout/tackler .
his first low sec lost vs the shortbus squad made me laugh so hard
he came to me all pumped and said : listen! i got isk , go **** em up and ill pay you .
the famous i did not do nothing so why did you shoot me down 
a great eve player , will be missed
confirming that there ain't no better father/son relationship then being the ceo of your dad

On the language thing,
I'm 45 and one of the big kicks I get about the game is taking in the new slang.

I thought l33t was pretty funny and creative but I guess it really strikes a nerve with some people.
I wish more non gamers knew what doing a Leroy Jenkins was or that it wasn't going out. I can't think of simpler way of expressing that complex concept . I'm drawing a blank on other expressions that came from things like fictional characters but there are some that are hundreds of years old that you'd never know came that way.
Fun to take in some new vernacular... keeps you young and I sort of love new ways of expression seeping in and out of the language. Some good ones stick, ("hip" is a good word hard to express any other way that came from jazz culture slang via slave words via an african language word hep-cat which was some sort of compliment or something not too close to the current meaning).
Enough ramble... I'm all for older players at least trying to adapt the current lingo even if we get it all wrong.

he took the game far more seriously then us younger kids
he was great logistic player helping the young guns with ammo and ships logictics
so all we had to do is pew 
and yup it was young but he was a woodstock kid , so took a lot of things that shorten your life , if you know what i mean
died on stage with his band at a party i organised , sounds shocking but i would want to go the same way :Rockin'
