I just encountered a situation where as I warped/cloaked out of a gatecamp in my tengu a bubble went up while accelerating to warp and my warp got cancelled and had to be restarted manually - has anyone seen this behaviour before?

It's a known bug. If it helps, they're fixing it in dominion.

Aha. so I wasn't imgining it. So is a petition likely to meet with any success? Do you have any links confirming the bug status?

Def I think they did you a fovor man...If you were traveling doing anything but transporting stuff in and out of 00 Sec then you need to stop using a tengu altogether and they really did save you in the long run.
That is one of the worst setups I have seen on one, No Dmg mods, 1 resist mod, and Warp Core Stabs lol....You might as well not have had Launchers on there and if so not hams lol...Your range was cut to what 2.5 km ....ROFL
Serious not to be mea but unless you can fitt at least T2 launchers and know how to fit a ship you best not fly a T3 you are a bulls eye as it is in T3 every pirate in the system will drop what they doing to dink at you. If you run, You`ll only die tired :) |

No point fitting HML's the range of HAMs was shorter than the 20km lock range.
if you look in the cargo there were spare subsystems and modules. I mean you think I was going to unfit those launchers just because I wasn't intending on getting into any fights until I got to my destination?
Besides, perhaps you could point me at a fitting which would have escaped that list of agressors?

My logs duggest otherwise, it shows 14 seconds between the first warp attempt and the crusader pilot scramming me, are you telling me your crusader pilot took that long to get a lock? If so then an inty with such a long lock time seems like the biggest lolfit in history.

I mean most of my fit was irrelevant to the core Covert + Nullifier setup which is all I've really needed. I've evaded half a dozen Gentleman's Club gatecamps in Wicked creek while flying just my plain old crane, I even had one epic moment where I escaped by triggering an ECM burst which elicited cries of 'WTF DevHax' from the inty pilot in local. But this time the devs let me down..... When I saw the warp failing repeatedly and decloaking happening I didn't even bother activating my tank because I knew it wouldn't make any difference.
Anyway if you want to hear the really epicly geeky part - I would have probably noticed sooner if I hadn't been watching 'The Prisoner' at the same time, it was the scene in the first episode where Number 6 is being attacked by one of those Bubbles on the Beach.

You'll probably get it back anyway if you file a petition since it's already been confirmed both in this thread and elsewhere that warp being cancelled in a nullifier-equipped ship when someone puts a bubble up is a known bug.

Well I'd like to think so, in the future I'm going to be aligning and accelerating towards my warp destination before hitting the warp button.
As it happend I'm part way through training for an HIC right now and I should be able to get in an Onyx prior to the release of Dominion, so I'm now wondering if CCP would frown on HIC pilots explicitly exploiting this behaviour to catch t3-noobs like myself. If you were running a smart gatecamp and your scout tells you a t3 ship has jus jumped in then you can wait for the decloak to fire up the bubble, if you have multiple interdictors you could even stagger bubble deployments a few seconds apart to cancel warps in progress. t3 pilots can still align and then warp when they're going fast enough, but pilots who aren't aware will be effectively mired down.

Yep, and I knew that, I've got a proper buffer fit. My covert nullifier fit used it as a booster because I had been flying into random 0.0 regions and killing rats just to enjoy the 'freedom' to go where I wanted and kill rats, because there was no way in hell I was planning to PVP in this until it stopped being called primary automaticly.

AT THE LEAST, you can fill your lows with some nano fiber or agility mods. And there is NO reason to EVER fly a T3 without a proper tank on it.

Covops doesn't mean immunity, there's ways to grab a covert ship, especially if it's a cruiser, it's all down to an intie paying attention and the cruiser needing time to align out. Apart from that fact there is an issue atm where dropping a bubble as someone is getting into warp will abort the warping procedure, regardless of the nullifier sub system. Is that an issue that should be adressed? you bet.
But the "I fly a covert ops ship and thus I don't need to think about what I'm doing as I should be unstoppable" as the OP seems to think is wrong, very wrong. A GOOD intie with some drones assigned has a very good chance of grabbing any covert cruiser or bomber, and still has some chance to grab a covert frig. ----------- ADM-I |

Me personally even if i was using it to haul valuables i would have it tanked out and setup to survive some fluke/pilot error. if i have to haul less than 300m3 or so i just use a buzzard. OP: if you were busy watching tv while running through 0.0 you know not to be friendly in a 700 mil isk ship with only a pathetic ability to fight back i would say you deserve to lose this ship and not get it replaced.
I seriously dont get people who play eve and ( insert activity), if eve cant keep your attention span without having some other activity involved why bother playing?

Absolutely, it took me 10 seconds to realise the warp wasn't happening, I'd jumped through enough bubble camps in this ship that I'd become a tiny but complacent, I waited 15 seconds and made sure that there wasn't anyone close enough to decloak me before I hit warp. Not sure how much the TV really mattered, I just found it ironic that No. 6's attempts to escape the vilage were thwarted by what amounted to a giant pink bubble.
Kids, pvp'ing really needs full attention, you forget this and you lose out, don't be like me.
(however - I can with some pride point to at least one kill that I achieved while simultaneously changing the diaper of my one year old, even under the pressure of the brown alert I kept my composure. But that's the exception rather than the rule....)

Because that ( insert activity ) isn't interesting enough to demand full involvement either. Why do just one thing when you can do both?

God OP. That was one of the most terrible ships I've ever seen.
My hull-tanked bantam >(!) your Tengu
My hull-tanked Bantam would cost a ten-thousandth what yours cost, and it probably wouldn't even need tech 2 or meta 4 weapons. Even if it was fitted with tech one weapons, they'd be lucky to get away with their pods. No offense, of course; very few fleets could withstand my Bantam. Even a small alliance's armada would have trouble dealing with me.

The fit is irrelevant. Its got nothing to do with the issue at hand, that is to say he died from a bug. Even if your fitted like a beast from hell, he could still quite easily die from such a bug as this one. So give the guy some slack, so its poorly fitted, why not ask him how he would have fitted it, if he was going out on a roaming PvP gang.
He shouldn't have died, that's all there is to it. So lay off as I am sure that if we look inside your hangars, there will be some terrible ship fits in there, and we could spend a whole day hanging crap on you all for them.

Why did you not have istabs in your lows? Or does that particular contraption really only offer two lowslots? Either way it is pretty fail for a travel-fit... And if you are reading this, you have arrived at the signature without noticing...

Whilst covops doesn't (and shouldn't) grant immunity it's not really a huge leap of faith to assume that a T3 subsystem that grants "Immunity to non-targeted interdiction" does in fact grant immunity to non-targeted interdiction. Not partial immunity, not immune-except-when-someone-keeps-deploying-a-bubble, etc.
If they had decloaked him incidentally from using a bubble, as skilled intys do all the time with regular covops ships trying to warp cloaked off a gate, then it wouldn't be an issue. As it is however the bubble that went up (several times?) stopped his warp when it shouldn't have - since it's already deemed a bug that's being fixed in Dominion.
The fit, etc as stated above is largely irrelevant.

Originally by: Leandro Salazar Why did you not have istabs in your lows? Or does that particular contraption really only offer two lowslots? Either way it is pretty fail for a travel-fit...
IStabs vs Nanos vs WCStabas basicly came down to my experience in running covert ops ships and blockade runners through countless gatecamps. Early on I lost a Buzzard which had iStabs in the lows and I would have escaped if I'd fitted WCS in the lows. Since then I've flown with WCS and I can point to multiple occasions where they've saved me when getting decloaked while leaving the bubble. (I've also used ECM Bursts on my covert travel fits to break tackler locks and escape, in either case this is strictly a last resort and you're dead if it fails to work).
Now.... I'm pretty much telling it from experience, maybe I've just been really lucky.
However, I feeling that with bubble proof ships, there's no reason to run for the edge of the bubble so the dynamics of the decloak danger change, so the only case that WCS would win over IStabs would be when you jump in and the gate puts you within decloak range of a hostile.
Regardless, whatever I'd fitted in the lows would have made no difference, knowing about the bug would have made all this moot.
Also, I guess my covert hauler is setup with agility rigs, so it would run with WCS's, but the Tengu was setup to be refit into a proper passive tank setup so it had shield rigs, since you pretty much can't change the rigs on a multipurpose ship. (although TBH, they're so cheap now I could just choose to destroy them and refit).
Oh yeah - someone suggested I discuss my PVP fit? Well PVP Tengu is 1) dock at station 2) Switch to T1 Frigate/Cruiser/Battlecruiser/Battleship (or maybe Stealth Bomber) 3) ... 4) Profit!

What, stopping someone's warp with a module to which they are supposed to be specifically immune? That's pretty much the exact opposite of fair.

But it isn't immune to bubbles, is it? T3 cruisers still get sucked into sling bubbles, or stopped by them earlier depending on bubble placement. Also it's not the bubble's warp disruption attribute, that stops the T3 cruiser from warping. It's the act of dropping the bubble with a good timing.
And it's really easy to avoid this mechanic anyways. Just align instead of outright clicking warp to. The campers will then drop the bubble and once it's popped up you can simply warp away, because you're immune to the warp disruption.
That's how I came to think this was intended game mechanic. Don't think there are too many T3 cruisers dying to this though, are there? Only few camps actually know this stuff and it still requires some pilot skill to pull it off. I'm sure these fellas the OP died to also missed on other T3 cruisers before despite trying to get em this way.
Imho there's no need t change it. But who am I? Not even flying dictors or T3 cruisers... ---- Sarmaul's crosstrainorgtfo |

It's an interesting mechanic, but, if that's the case it should be documented, just like all the other bubble effects are documented in the Knowledge base. It's a mechanic that rewards player skill - both for the Dictor pilot and the t3 pilot so I'm in favour of it.
