It means Giev Fish.
When you kill someone in EVE then it's customary to request they give you their fish. I don't actually know why though.... maybe it has something to do with the anti-griefer rules because stealing their fish would simply be wrong.

The rules of at least one alliance states that gf is the only thing you are allowed to say in local.
I always wondered if it would be ok to use it ironically by killing some defenseless noob and spamming gf in local.

I do this all the time when we're blobbing some random guy. Watch him blow up in a matter of seconds and then everyone in fleet writes 'gf' in local.

GF is what people instantly spam after ganking someone, partly because it shows "good form" (while in reality they're hoping for the 'victim' to reply with GF making it all the more hilarious). We ganked some guy in an Orca a few days ago mainly because he did something stupid, as he started to explode he said GF in local but as it wasn't a fight at all I decided to not reply to it. To me stating GF while it wasn't is worse than staying quiet.

I don't see a problem saying gf after you get ganked, its a way of saying "damn you got me, no hard feelings", using only 2 letters, 100 times better then people who whine about dieing in local.
