Boring? At times, yes.
Much more importantly, the game has tedious complexity amounting to mental mass turbation. Even more important, it has many little annoyances that CCP will not commit time to fix. No single one is enough to make anyone quit, but put together, and they got me wishing NetDevil would get their buns in gear and finish JGE so I could try it out.
Honestly, so many people spout off about how intelligent CCP developers are. But the way Eve's parts fit together reminds of main frame development (I date myself). No coordination between functional pieces and/or "development in a vacuum" engineering resulting in FEW TO NO STANDARDS. Just look at their windowing system and the seriously borked parent/child object inheritance rules ... no other game I know of has such a fundamentally important function as windowing borked so badly. And that is one tiny item from a long list of annoying dysfunctions. And they keep adding stuff on top of the garbage without fixing basic flaws like random client crashes...
I agree, EvE sucks for many reasons. But boring? You make your own level of fun in EvE.

You only have yourself to blame. EVE does not spoon feed you content like other MMOs, here you must make your own content.

Instant gratification seems to be associated with the Incarna expansion CCP is working on, as it's mostly fun-stuff oriented things to do with your avatar.
PvP is weird in EVE, because realistically all you're doing is pressing 1-4 buttons and waiting. Reaction time doesn't really matter, hand-eye coordination, no 'skills' that are normally associated with PvP in other games. All you need is a general understanding of the ships and the weapons they fit. However it can be fun because more or less it's like gambling, the ship you're using cost you your time and effort and you're putting it on the line against someone else.
PvE is more or less terrible, but this goes for every MMO. You just need people to have fun, raiding in WoW would be a horrible failure if it was a solo endeavor.

Sure, you can choose to play it that way, or you can pick a proper ship that's not meant for sissies… ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

OK, you've been playing about 18 months. You obviously found things to do during that time. I didn't read the other replies, but I assume someone's already asked for your stuff - so I won't. But, you've had the strength and patience to play 18 months?
Try something different in what you've done:
1) If you run missions, try running each lvl with the next size smaller ship (lvl 2 in a frigate, lvl 3 in a cruiser, etc)
2) Join R-V-B. I have an alt there. It's fun, although there is a lot of E-peening (imo) in the R-V-B channel. FW is also a thought.
3) Try cornering the market in a region, or do invention.
Aside from the three areas you mentioned:
Have you tried WH space? How about Archeology? What about hunting out complexes? Corp/Alliance politics? There are, imo, lots of things to try that you haven't addressed.
Of course the real (reality, what a concept) "problem" may just be that EVE is a self directed game and as such it's just not you're cup of tea. That's fine of course, but life is short, find a game you enjoy. EQ, ATITD (great if you like crafting), WoW, TR(ugh), Rhyzom, LOTR, etc. There has to be one that would suit.
The point is the game is yours to make of it what you will. Good Luck.

1. PVE is damn stupid and worse of all MMO's. 2. PVP is ok, but nothing special (except death penalty that is good) 3. TRADE is very nicely made, props for this.
I just don't feel like i have nothing to do in eve. If i want to login for few hours, there not much i can do, with good luck maybe one pvp kill?
My judgement, eve sucks.
Wait... let me get this right. You've been playing Eve long enough to get 22 Mil SP AND amass loads of wealth, and you are only just now thinking Eve doesn't have anything for you to do?
What have you been doing? If it's been fun enough for you to last this last year, it must be fun enough to keep doing.
Oh, and of course, the obligatory canihazyourstuff?

What are you talking about? Having to using 5 or perhaps even, gasp, 6 buttons doesn't make you HARDCORE. Disconnect yourself when you're PvPing and think about what you're actually doing, in the moment it feels like its intense, but an outsider would see you as pressing a few buttons and then pretty much waiting. All your fancy flying, overloading, etc is painfully obvious to anyone who has spent more than an hour shooting at other players. The most complex maneuver you can pull off in EVE is MWDing away from an enemy, and MWD + Overload back towards them at the end of the cycle. Catching fast players in slower ships elicits comments of OH WOW YOU'RE GOOD when it's stupid easy.

This from the guy that wanted to be able to gank noobs in starter systems. HTFU, pick a side and pick a target rich fight. Going around looking for easy ganks for 5 hours is your time wasted.
There are plenty of corporations out there that can use another gun to fight their battles. Problem is they're not all on the winning side and to get good fights you most times have to put yourself at risk too.
I get the feeling you only like the risk vs reward concept to the extent that someone else takes the risk and you reap the reward.

I'm talking about the glaringly obvious fact that you've never flown a ship that requires active piloting to be of any use. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

By that standard chess or go is even simpler. All you do is move little pieces around a board, reaction time doesn't matter, hand-eye coordination, no 'skills'.
You are confusing the mechanics of manipulating the game 'pieces' with the actual playing of the game. In Eve (like in chess or go) the skills generally reside not in your quick-twitch response but in that grey lump you're using to hold your ears apart.

2. PVP - This!!! MMOs should be all about playing against or with other players and not the environment.
Just like every MMO, PVP is full of brats cheating or using every exploits they can find. Besides, what most players call PVP is preying on players weaker than they are, not much more challenge than doing PVE against a brain dead AI.
Then if you find people cheating stop being a whiny tit and petition it?
If you just THINK they are cheating and they actually understand the game better than you?.. well, then you are just being a tit that calls hacks whenever he loses. --

You don't really want to quit, you wouldn't have come to the forum to draw attention. You would have just quit. You just need to vent. There's plenty to do in EVE, you just must be in the wrong area. Just don't mine, that is boring, besides all the Veld are belong to Chribba. This 5 minutes between posts crap needs to stop, NOW.

I'd have to say you are likely playing solo. I also play solo a large portion of the time and kills come few and far between at times. However the fights you do get while solo can be very fun and exciting.
If you are after more PVP action than you can get on your own, you simply need to join a good PVP corp or alliance. While going solo is fun it's also nice to have the option to join a small gang or even a large fleet for small to large fights.

I feel ya man. This game can be rather boring at times.
If you end up being alone online, its REALLY boring. If becoming a sheep in one of the sixty nine alliances is something you don't want to do, then it is probably time for a break. Hopefully this is the prime time of the sixty nine alliances, and on the next patch they will disperse.
There will be unforseen changes coming in Dominion, I would say it is worth keeping your character training till then.
Wait out the storm my friend.
*oh and don't mind the trolls, CCP has no pest control, you just sort of have to learn to live with them.

You need to think about how to put yourself into this thing called "a target rich environment". Then you don't have to fly around for 5 hours getting 1 kill.
