Hello
I have been playing EVE ONLINE for sometimes, i have 22 million skill points currently. I can fly some damn fine ships and i have more money than british royalty combined.
My problem is that there is nothing to do in eve, last night i fly around for 5 hours and getting one pvp kill. I have been playing alot of MMO's since UO, and this seems to be some sort of skill training simulator that i hardly ever have strenght and patience to play.
1. PVE is damn stupid and worse of all MMO's.
2. PVP is ok, but nothing special (except death penalty that is good)
3. TRADE is very nicely made, props for this.
I just don't feel like i have nothing to do in eve. If i want to login for few hours, there not much i can do, with good luck maybe one pvp kill?
My judgement, eve sucks.

join a pvp alliance - go roam 0.0 & low sec which are a good place to find targets
or war dec an alliance and enjoy high sec pew pew
or join red vs blue alliances --- they basically have a non stop war going on in high sec... pvp without all the politics

Op should join faction war then. Plenty of targets everywhere for the obviously hardcore pvp player that he is. I bet he could kill off an entire caldari militia blob with just one of his damn fine ships.

Hmm considering you have 22mil SP. I find your experience hard to believe. Sounds to me you purchased this character and expected to jump into the game and start doing exciting stuff. Sorry to disappoint but you cannot just buy a character and expect that. While joe blow was training up those 22mil sp he was also making connections with players that make the game what it is. You missed it considering you didn't train.

Eve is one of the most open games in terms of what you can do... you just need an imagination. This is not a flame btw. Some guy maintains a graveyard, maybe boring to some but pretty unique and cool frankly.
You indicate you want some pvp but only play for a couple of hours at a time... either you are being too cautious, or you are waiting around for a gang that moves way too slowly. If you are gatecamping, no wonder you are bored. Find hotspots on the map and go pvp there.
Perhaps your corp sucks and you need a more active one. Perhaps you need to bite the bullet and try some solo pvp... again you need to find targets better if you don't want to die of boredom.

I agree to some extent. I think the 'world' is too large in EVE for it to bill itself as a PVP game. Of course, the upside is you don't have to actually play to improve your character in EVE unlike every other MMO.

All fair points about your criticisms for the game. But that is where the social aspect comes in as most of the people I have befriended in EVE is also people I talk to outside the game, as well as play other games with.
Because that is really what EVE is about: People. |

1. PVE is the worse concept for any MMO. Why wpend so much time writing AI in a multiplayers game
2. PVP - This!!! MMOs should be all about playing against or with other players and not the environment.
3. Trade is really just another type of PvP.

Because it can be fun to gang up on a strong AI enemy. Fighting Sleepers is a good example. Too bad the rest of the PVE isn't as challenging or fun.

Just like every MMO, PVP is full of brats cheating or using every exploits they can find. Besides, what most players call PVP is preying on players weaker than they are, not much more challenge than doing PVE against a brain dead AI.
