subject says it all. i can't install evemon on my work systep thanks to no .NET installation or something similar. eft works fine, in comparison, thanks to basically no install program or registry keys required. anyone know of a program that allows for skill planning? implants and remapping a plus. |

har! har! worthless post is worthless.
someone sent me a mail about the Ships Skills Planner, which i can't use because i can't access the api to get my skills, and the Mobile Skills Planner, which is a phone app and something i can't use at work. anyone got any other suggestions?
edit: got another mail about evehq, which requires an installation as well. |

yes, it's so much easier to track 400 skills in excel with all the requisite data. how could i have not realized this?
the idea isn't to track one simple plan. it's to fotz with a bunch of different plans until i figure out what i want. something like excel really takes the balls from a tool designed for this.
Reaver Glitterstim wrote:Just figure out which modules you need to be able to use. You can use the notepad in-game to jot down which skills you need so you can remember. If you jot down the module name next to the skill, it'll help you remember why you want it, and how badly you want it. Then you can glance through your notepad when you need to pick a skill to put in the queue.
if i can't install .NET at work, what makes you think that i can play the game there?
Desmont McCallock wrote:I don't know if anyone told you but EVEMon can run from a USB stick (the installer is just for the ease of things). http://wiki.battleclinic.com/index.php/EVEMonPortableThe ugly part for you though may be the fact that EVEMon since 1.3.4 requires that .NET 4 is installed on the machine (full not the client version). Still though you will need access to API so I guess even this way, you won't be able to use EVEMon for anything other than the planner.
this is better information, honestly, but i think it still wouldn't help because i can't get .NET on there. i didn't know you could portable-ize it.
Ireland VonVicious wrote:Eve Mon and Eve HQ are the standards. Maybe your not ment to worry about such things at work.
i use it on breaks and my lunch. although, i forgot about evehq completely! i'll give that a shot. |

eveHQ requires SQL Servier, GTKEveMon requires GTKmm library. both need admin approval for install.
still looking =/ |

blocked at work. already tried it =)

because there's a ton of correlation between having ~400 skills, their train times, my current implant settings, and a pencil and paper, and a computer program that you use to manage numbers, remap attributes, and automatically handle calculations when on your break. looooove it.
RubyPorto wrote:Oh, and if you are unhappy with the current, user provided applications, this might be your time to shine, as a user, by providing a skill planner that never needs admin access.
it's starting to look like i'll have to do that =/ i was hoping to find something already, even an excel sheet that could handle it, but everything's designed around the .NET libraries or some other utility. |

logmein as a site is blocked, along with all other RDP-type technologies. i tried windows RDP, logmein, teamviewer, VNC, and a few others.
good try though - i hadn't actually tested logmein, but it still doesn't work =/ |

because EFT is totally fine. it doesn't access the internet (if you disable that feature), and it has no installation.
and ruby, working on it -_- |

proxies are always against company policies, since they allow for unsupervised access to the internet. if you don't realize that, well, maybe you should read your access policy. that said, yes, i work for a company where data security is excessively controlled. my network access is necessarily limited.
i don't own a laptop, unfortunately. |

i can use Aura, yes, but it's pretty clunky to use, and i'd prefer it to be an application at best.
ezra - tried fotzing with ports already. the protocol itself is disabled, not just the ports. |

Desmont McCallock wrote:Or wait till Windows 8 gets released and persuade your admin to buy you a license and install it on your machine or make the company buy new HW with Win8 pre-installed.
Why? Cause Windows 8 has .NET 4 as default and EVEMon runs installation free.
we're still on XP =( |

this thread won't die =)
paper and pen doesn't allow me to fiddle with attributes and implants.
i probably can use a VM, but that's a really, really complex way of doing this. i'll stick with aura for the time being and fotz with making my own, whether through an excel sheet or otherwise. |
