Vanguard's only flaw was a bad habit of getting stuck with the underdogs in various conflicts (and Dark's bad habit of holding grudges longer than is healthy for an alliance leader in 0.0). There've been a lot of ideas that were kicked around, but circumstances have usually conspired against them. A lot of the people I see kicking dirt in their direction about "bringing the quality" seem to have bounced from one so-called "real" 0.0 alliance to another, as each in turn burns hot and dies young in yet another pitiful attempt to keep it "real" by bonzai charging from one conflict to another. If anything, I salute them for holding it together long enough to make inroads with one of the super-NAPs. Even with all the changes coming in Dominion, I doubt we've seen the end of the power blocs. The lack of names in the system information will have little bearing on the ability of the bloc alliances to ** higher on the tree in their spheres of influence. Whining doesn't change the reality, the NC isn't going anywhere. All the pvp "skill" in the game isn't going to shift the fundamental reality that numbers trump skill every time. Dark's finally drawn his ace, and his alliance has a place in the fold its been after for some time now. In the event of an emergency, my ego may be used as a floatation device.**

There has always been an informal CAOD ban for members of Vanguard because, just as smacktalk in local reflects poorly on the alliance, so does entering flame wars and misbehaving on forums. I posted a sarcastic, self-deprecating post in the thread to deflect and blunt the criticism in it. There will be no further posts from anyone in Vanguard; if any of you post in that thread there will be disciplinary action. apprently he is doing the same again
