Before Halloween I was proud to be a friend of Evol. I've always respected them and who they were. I've fought beside them when they were in FA and have fought beside them since. They have always maintained close ties with FA and even allowed in on our communication networks and our territory.
As I was out and about in Fountain on Halloween I saw some friendlies show up in local (Evol) and next thing you know is IĘm being locked down, blown up and podded. I never once fired a shot and could only ask WHY? Why did friends blow me up? Surely there had to be something major that happened to have caused this. Soon I realized there was several others just like me who had just lost their BS's in similar circumstances. After many inquiries up my chain of command, I find out the reason behind my podding is because a couple jackasses got into it and a BOB member lost his Frig. Some dispute as to who fired first or whatever...but I really didn't care then or care now. All I PERSONALLY know is that I was backstabbed. I felt a real loss of my FRIENDS in Evol. You took MY BATTLESHIP out from under ME because some guy I don't even know killed one of your guys in a frig.
Come on, where is the sense in that? How is this NOT a backstab? After all that we as allies have gone through and the history together, this happens. It really saddens me and many others in the Alliance. We were shocked to the point that even after we had lost so many battleships, we still had a standing order not to fire on Evol. The entire thing MUST be a misunderstanding. As our chain of command worked things out, I couldn't fathom what on earth Evol was thinking going on a rampage like that through ALLIED territory over the loss of a frig. Not only that but while Evol was ganking FA at will without any fear of being attacked, FA's forms of communication were compromised. Now I'm not sure personally who it was that compromised our channels, but we know that our trust in Evol by giving them our comm's as allies was used against us as well.
So after all this time of keeping my mouth shut and just thinking about it, the only conclusion I can come to is that enough members of Evol have been accepted into their ranks that they donĘt' care about the existing relationship between them and their friends. Although I did see some familiar names on the attack. It boils down to pride I guess. Evol's pride was hurt when they lost one of their members in a frig and then argue about which frig fired first.
Does this warrent a reckless rampage through Allied territory killing friends and people who had NOTHING to do with this incident?
Now if Evol came out of this ordeal with an apology for causing billions in damage to us and worked it out, perhaps things would move on. But not only do they request FA to make a public apology on the forums about killing one of their frigs but they also say they can leave a fleet of Evol ships in FA space that can come and go as they please.
As some of you may have heard here on the forums, Evol will say that FA has reneged on our agreement. Well, perhaps what is really happening is the FA council who was very good friends with Evol and represents people in their alliance who was very good friends with Evol, made an agreement with 'friends' that are in Evol.
After the agreement is made, Most of FA are up in arms about losing their ships and then seeing an appology from FA in the public forums and to have this whole incident RUBBED in their faces by Evol. After all, it wasn't MY FAULT that 2 individuals got in a fight in their FRIGS and one killed the other. ThatĘs between THEM, NOT THE ALLIANCE!
Then I calm down and say to myself, "its a game...its a game...its a game..."
But friends don't backstab friends, even in games. Honor, trust and friendship is something that you earn. Its not something that you throw around when its convenient. This is something that goes way beyond that ... in Real life, games and everything else you do. Evol and everyone else, you remember that and think about that next time you decide to turn on old friends just to 'teach them a lesson' or 'show them who's boss'. The guy sitting next to you at work or in school, if you were friends with him and played together and you decide to blow up his Apoc while mining with him just for fun ą do you think he would be upset with you at work/school the next day as you laugh at him? Of course he would ą this is called trust and it is carried over into everything you do.
I'm posting with an Alt because I'm not in any command structure of the FA and don't want this to look as if it is from the FA. I'm a grunt. I don't want people who are close to me to feel any wraith of what I have to say. As we've seen people in the forums turn things around so truth is not truth anymore. I do not wish this on them.

Keep repeating that and get over it. If evol is KOS to you then grab a gun and do something about it. Crying on the forums does nothing to aid you.

Yea Evol is trying to be a second m0o. But they not... They are starting to annoy lots of people these days. I think very soon they will get a shovel up their ass. A big and wide shovel. |

FA are responsible for their members.
A FA resprisentative could of stopped it all by saying sorry immediately. They didn't.
The Fountain Incident was what resulted.
And if you think THAT was bad...that was only a war party, NOT our whole fleet.

One has to wonder if Evol is making the mistake of underestimating their opponents. It has been clearly stated by FA that they did not fire back on Halloween and were told not to engage. Nor have Evol denied this claim from what I've read.
Someone looking to inflate ones ego might view this as fear, others might view it as discipline. Ponder.

I think that your words are profound, and should be thought about by all, no matter the conflict. You too are bound by the viewpoint with which you look at a situation.
Each person has a different agenda when they post. Some do it to play their characters out, some do it because they are angry, some do it because they are happy, some have a point to make, and some are just plain mean.
A willingness to understand where someone is coming from is paramount to good relationships. I simply think that the original poster is upset that folks he considered as friends sent him to the cloning station without what he feels is a valid reason.

That's not true. several pilots engaged me in the Fountain region that night, which wasn't very healthy for their ships  |
