Any believers? I actually kinda strongly believe its going to happen. I dont entirely go along with its going to cause the earths crust to shift all wtfpwn like but I've had 2 physics professors and a chemistry prof in college who all believe it to be fairly likely to happen.
But if it does cause any instability to the earths volcanic activity... it could trigger yellow stone national park...
So... Overdue magnetic polar shift? check. Overdue Yellowstone Caldera Chain? Check.
The US is as least screwed :P

Nasa knows the earths poles are overdue to shift. Thats about the suns poles shifting that they expect in 2012, which isnt a big deal really.

Are all those things listed in the op going to happen? If we can believe the scientists then yes they will happen again over and over as time passes by. Will it happen in 2012? Who the **** knows past God, SoonÖ or 'when its ready' and even the scientists will agree on that.

Is it not true, that it is overdue? I didn't say it would happen in 2012, just said its overdue. Its actually due/expected to happen anytime between now and 2020. And thats not conspiracy talk, thats actual nasa and known science. I seen some video that talked about how it will cause the crust of the earth to F* up due to the magnetic change and the constantly revolving magma, but I don't really believe that.

According to your article the Magnetic pole shifts every 5000 to 50,000,000 years. How can we be overdue with the last one occurring 740,000 years ago, once we get to 50,740,000 years then we can start claiming its overdue. All a magnetic pole change will do is change the alignment of magnetic materials in cooling rocks. It is not going to cause the crust to shift all over the place.
I'm not even gonna touch the Yellowstone Caldera.

Actually the earths magnetic alignment going out of whack could kill us all from radiation exposure especially from solar flares and there is growing evidence that this has already caused lesser mass extinctions in the remote past. This happens because they think when the poles switch there is a considerable period when there is no cohesive global field and its just a bunch of magnetic loops starting and ending at random spots on the earth. This is bad because earths magnetic field is a huge em shield that blocks out that vast majority of fatal radiation that would cook off everything organic in a matter of months or years of constant daily exposure unless you lived the entire time in a cave.
As far as messing with the crust well I would imagine that all the magnetic rocks of the world suddenly not lining up with a global magnetic field might cause a bit of shifting here and there especially in areas where there is already high sesmic activity. And the yellowstone caldera is priming for a blast if the current evidence is any indication. Over the last few decades it has been steadily increasing in the rate of rise over the magma chamber and is up to about 1 to 3 inches a year and getting faster. Again will it blow on 2012? Who knows but blow it will be it tommorow or in ten thousand years. But tbh all that matters not because if something as cataclysmic as a super volcano erupting or the poles shifting really happens you are going to die unless you happen to be in the know for some sort of high level government survival program for the lucky few.

I think it's way beyond our current science to predict such events with this accuracy. We can't even predict events that are far more graspable than pole shifts, like changes in the weather.

"graspable"? the weather is far less uniform than the earths magnetic poles.

any believers? I actually kinda strongly believe its going to happen. I don't entirely go along with its going to cause the end of toasted cheese sandwiches all wtfpwn like but I've had 2 people with college degrees and my personal physician all who believe it to be fairly likely to happen.
But if it does cause any instability to the earths toasted cheese sandwiches... it could trigger Six Flags Amusement park...
So... Meteors that end my favorite sandwich? check. Overdue trip to Six Flags? Check.

Magnetic Poles twitching [CHECK] has happened will happen again.
Yellowstone going cataclysmic [CHECK] has happened will happen again.
Chances of it being 2012. 'just' too satisfy the nuts not very likely, and if it just so happens to fall on that year. Does not automagically mean they were right all along.
