From What I've read on the Dev Forums, to maintain sov with mining, security, and wormhole modules etc, you're looking at about 1bil ISK a month per system.
Can't comment on the OP's predictions. What I believe is that it will likely "do what it says on the tin", at least for the short term. UberAlliances will consolidate, leaving empty pockets of systems for other opportunistic alliances to drop in... It may increase demand for roid munchers and pve in order to create enough revenue to maintain the system sov... or you might wind up with a 300 strong fleet of nomads moving from system to system burning everything in sight.
Predicting what happens in EVE is like forecasting the weather... the 5 day forecast is pretty accurate. After that...
*edit: erm, that last bit... unless of course you live in Great Britain, then it's only 2 days. _______________________________________________

seriouspost if you're not in a niche tz alliance dominion is probably going to be an insane cluster**** of massive battles
if you live in moon time (ie anything not euroland), vOv
i still hope par flings himself headfirst at us and slams into the bug zapper, but i suspect the odds of that are decreasing with each new blog. :/

So lets recap.... Your paying for the folowing: Space that holds your alliance log/name Space that is more secure Space that can be upgraded to better space Space that can be used to build capitals
Infact xxxdeathxxx I would love it if you decided not to drop TCU's/Hubs and just live in 0.0 stations paying 0 fee's for living in that space. This way we could roll in there and shoot your station and make it a COW stations in just a few hours.
It would be like the old days of shooting stations before POSs came out.
Ok reasons why this doesn't make sense, the cost for cap ships is the minerals it takes to make them, (and ice fuel is what powers the junk making crap), I donĘt get the idea how exactly is putting a flag up and saying you own space making it better space? Also, if you own a system, including all the planets, which could have inhabitants wouldn't it make more sense if you are the ruler of said space that the little people pay you money and not the other way around, not all alliances can be expected to be progressive in taxes and developing like the peoples republic of razor with its humanitarian missions of titans ferrying medical supplies.
