amazed if that lasts beyond the next patch.
then again amazed they didn't emergency-patch it already.

Sorry to say that as of now, the blockade is back in place. J0rt and zap got rid of us from the gate. Nobody died, but it wasn't exactly in our best interests to stay.
Until next time! |

Just somethign to finish on, we never use a tactic before we know we can counter it. We will be back. Just need a litte time and money.
Donations will be appreciated though :)
Oh and the long range tactic is a pain to use, took us a bit before we had it sorted right. If you ever try it by using bookmarks.. you will know what I meen.
And just incase anyone is thinking of it.. we are NOT recruiting. |

Still flying the Lady Macbeth? :)
Never read that post b4.. there are some niggles that have to ironed out to use the tactic, and there was only 2 of us most of the time in crusiers. They have 2 dominatrix battleships now by the way. One got down to 25% shields woo! We lacked the manpower to do it properley, but who cares was fun, and we learned some more about the game mechanics that we can use to refine our tactics... exciting times are these.

What else?
I get so many evemails from Peter Hamilton fans I'm considering a name change!
I've yet to explore the sensor linking option - whats the changes you could have a few indies with shield enhancers and share hsield strength with other ships? Is that possible?

It is possible, but not very practical. The indi ships would ahve to be very close to the ships they were supporting, needless to say indi ships shouldn't be close to battle. You'd be better off usign the indi ships as electronic warfare ships as they could hang back from the battle. They wouldn't be very effective though. Unless you had a couple. But every little edge you can get helps in the long run.

I have a few things to say. 1. They are a TEAM CORP. they PLAY as a team and ONLY a team. 2. They very likely have alts, because 100% pirate is friggin crazy. That's why I do it. 3. Zap could kill you both. 4. Do you think j0rt couldnt kill 5 cruisers? 5. 450k range... on the Scorpion... Uhh... it has like 3 turrets... other than "REALLY" ****ing someone off, that would help, plus a b-ship is EASILY seen at 100+k with a frigate. I could likely see it at 500k with b-ship scanners... guess what? if you can see it, you can warp to it. _________________________ Trolling is bad. Please dont do it. -rei |

Darnit.. why is it I always come up with these great ideas and before I can run with it somebody gets there first.
Good job, Anything, on working out the long range sniper scenario. Damn you for getting there first.
As for "I haven't tried it, but I hope there isn't a bug wherein you can target someone and then move to 300km (beyond the clipping range, where things can't be seen) and then fire at them." I kinda hope that such a thing is possible. Considering the amount of effort and teamwork involved (we're talking 2-3 cruisers and/or a fleet of supporting frigates to get just 1 ship capable of firing at that range, plus a couple of support ships doing nothing but dumping capacitor on the others) I wouldn't say that being able to pull a standard sniper tactic would be all that unbalanced. Such a tactic is fairly easy to detect and counter once the initial shock and surprise have worn off.. I'd be surprised if a well organized group would lose more than a single ship to it before making it too dangerous for the sniper to continue.
The end result, I'd expect, would be to encourage pirate groups wishing to blockade gates to move around a bit more, rather than giving their enemies the chance to arrange such attacks. Predictability = vulnerability.

Actually it wasnt 100 it was a shade over 69 :) I know I was firing :) One by one they left as shields got down to 25%. Jort warped in and I took him head on :) (I am quite mad) I bailed at about 20% everything and flames everywhere. It was great fun and as Acuna says. We will be back :)

Kinda funny to see pirates attacking pirates. Acuna Traos isn't exactly the most law-abiding pilot in Eve, most likely just breaking the blockade so he can take over :) No honor among thieves, eh? Ya Hya Chouhada!!! |

Nice to see some strategy variations.
I don't see stacking in its current form to be bad at all. To get insane bonuses from stacking, one will have to leave major vulnerabilities in other areas.
Example: If you have 6 sensor links, pray that no one gets close since you don't have shield hardeners or boosters. If you're using uber boosters, good luck against the guy with 5-6 sensor links spanking you from insane range. ---------------- Blue Screen of Death CEO Exodus Enterprises |

That is what I like about this game or, at the leadt, what it will become when CCP get around to balancing the modules.
Eventually you'll always have to sacrifice one facet for another...attack/defense, speed/strength, close range/long range.......and there's a possibility that taking the middle ground will be even worse :)

It's just nice to see that folks are starting to think tactics rather then just whining that they are getting killed when they keep trying to use First World War 'charge the machine gun' tactics.

<<to Gauss's post>> I assume you're talking about the two cruisers that warped in behind us on a bookmark, mwd'd 100km away, and started shooting at us from that range and hitting for 80-100 every time. Yeah, that's great. We went back to the station to train up the sensor linking skill to use the tracking links your (friends?) blackbird obviously had 4 or 5 of.
There's lots of little tricks that we know and don't use.
gauss moo...
The difference between what they did and you do is they sued a valid tactic,, Oh thats right forgot you claim 200 containers with 1 ammo is a tactic.. forgot about that. Sensor linking is there for anyone to use it,, just like your stamped heat sinks are so dont cry fould because they can hit you for 80-100 damage from 100km+

Ya, we can shoot well over 170k away, with devasting damage now, 995.6 as one of your blackbirds felt the hit. We have multiple skills and will deploy them, was interesting, however i can't wait to see ya guys again, got something new I want to test out.

Boring.
Why all these intensely powerful functions so early in the game?
Battleships and uber-damage from distances beyond the norm - its sort of spoiling the game.

Hmm and I was happy with 360 damage! However it's good to see people using tactics. Much as I don't like the m0o got to admit they are the most famous pirate corp. And at the end of the day are having fun. Hell itĘs the first thing I've seen in the game that really affects us all. Maybe CCP should employ them to write story lines. lol.

I think its great that a few players working as a team can make an impact this size on the entire game. Not many games out there have that "You can make a difference" feel to it... instead you just try to make your character bigger and kill bigger monsters 'cause there is nothing else to it. Piracy gives the game a more volitile feeling and the different strategies gives people with a little ingenuity a chance to really shine!
