Last night, around midnight GMT, a friend and I ended the Passari blockade for about 90 minutes until we just had to sleep. We did it with... two cruisers. Guarding the gate were J0rt in his battleship and Gauss, Morpheus, Ywev, Nightkrawler and I believe one other in cruisers. Morpheus was podded, the rest left. After they had gone, we cleared up all the junk they had around the gate and made sure that everybody who wanted to go through the gate for free could do so.
I don't want anybody to construe this as an anti-m0o post though. I think the game is a lot more fun with them than without them, and j0rt and morpheus especially were very friendly in channel and I hope everybody involved had a lot of fun. Until next time! |

You are correct Flower, not everybody can play 24/7. Exactly what that has to do with my post though is anybody's guess. |

I was on-line just before downtime and there were Jort, Axelay, Lord Zapp there.
Also there is at least 2 others who sleep in the Ducia station.
However, it is pathetic to see Zapp early after downtime log on and be only one there and quickly log off.
Its always sad to see people with this kind of sense for fun, try to destroy it for others and then depend that otheres like themselves are on-line to be able to play.
Really sad and pathetic.
Also it is easier now to get bookmarks on both sides of gates.
That way its possible to form force in Mara awaiting them when they try to run, as well as force in Passari that will make them jump.
Its not going to be long that these guys will be totally wiped out due to shear power of their stupidity and predictability.

Its about time I read a post like this, all the time I see posts moaning about how the MOO have done this and the naughty men have done that. My god just deal with it like these guys have by a big ship and get some mates and pound their ass's. If I got podded the first few days I played by them, bothered you come back as a clone or use another character it's easy as that. What you lose you can always get back. I am in two minds myself at what to do next weather I should hunt them down and join, if they will have me or just hunt them. But eother way they are the evil dictators who are needed to give the game a fun and exiting edge.

I assume you're talking about the two cruisers that warped in behind us on a bookmark, mwd'd 100km away, and started shooting at us from that range and hitting for 80-100 every time. Yeah, that's great. We went back to the station to train up the sensor linking skill to use the tracking links your (friends?) blackbird obviously had 4 or 5 of.
There's lots of little tricks that we know and don't use.

This whole story, even if true, sounds about as correct on it's face meaning as the Guirsta's corporate description.
Way to get ppls courage up moo to increase the action. This is going to be interesting to see.

i never flew a reaper, i had a velator, and now im have something bigger. it was nice to see new ways to resist the blockade. This is what happened from my point: im flying about in the vexor, checking out cargo, when i see a threat window pop up. Well, i just go for the guy not even looking where he is. To my great surprise, the guy was 60km away. At that time i saw that there was a blackbird behind him. So i try to turn around. At this point I THINK i was webbed, but im not sure cuz i had the web glitch thing already. My cap is at 0 so i cant use the MWD and my Vexor is a piece of slow crap...It didnt go into warp for about 10 seconds...Well once i saw my ship get destroyed i kinda left the PC alone and went to get food, honestly being REALY ****ed. But not much harm done, i had a good clone in Lai Dai, all the skills were saved. Props to the guys that killed me :) good job. It wont happen next time tho ;) Ask me nicely and I won't pod you... |

lol i was outside Lai Dai station when Morpheus was podded (he didn't tell how). Sudenly 2 M0o guys came in, docked and it was all over...
The gate was clear and a small army of frigates and cruisers cleaned all the stuff arround the gate in a few minutes.
ATM Passari is pirate free wich is odd at this hour...!
Edit: ! He just told how...:)

Actually its more then sensor linking. So be prepared to be disappointed if thats all your working on.
We can target at 300km+ and Target lock in under 1 second.

Yeah obviously there were also targeting computers, sharpshooting skills, trajectory analysis skills, and range mods involved.
I haven't tried it, but I hope there isn't a bug wherein you can target someone and then move to 300km (beyond the clipping range, where things can't be seen) and then fire at them. I can imagine "Ahh wtf?? Im getting shot but there's no one around!!" I'm not sure if the clipping thing is even in the game anymore, though.

hannibal, read the whole topic before posting, analyze it afterwards...not hard to figure that blackbird (with 6 or 5 medslots, im not sure) was linking the MOA to shoot that far. well, and the other stuff Gauss said :P im waiting to see the moment when those guys take a few shots from the battleship :P 300km away :P regardless, it REALY IS nice to see someone trying to solve the problem themselves! dont turn this into oral poddings, its not fun. take it into space :P Ask me nicely and I won't pod you... |

Its part of our "Combat Haulage" package.. the indie (B2) sits well outside risk range but helps boost the freelance hunter quite considerably...
then runs in at 1500m/s to loot.

I hate to see another "stacking" surprise. It simply sucks.
Shield hardeners, weapon mods, sensor links.
What more stacks in a "unforseen" way?

It doesn't stack in an "unforeseen way." It stacks exactly according to the stats, and I would hardly call a strategy that requires having entire cruisers dedicated to boosting one ship an exploit.

So a scorpion that use 8 can do atleast 6x more range. So your 75km tachyon etc can now shot 450km and the tank got 8 weapon mods.
What a dream world.
We are back with the god old MMO style. You never know what hit you. And you canŠt see or do anything about it. Rise and repeat.
So cloaking with 100% invisibility can't be far away. Now we just need the tech V multispectrals, then no one can kill anyone.

It "cant" have been unforseen after the weapons stuff - at least it "shouldn't" have been - the point was raised on the patch review board (by myself).
Boost is generally to range and track-rate, so its a less "severe" problem if it is judged to be incorrectly implemented.
As with this instance, the very limited in way in which combat encounters take place (everybody is forced tow arp to a fixed point in space) means that to fuly utilise the skills/stats you have to use some creative tactics.
(Using a runner as shown here, pre-bookmarking locations around target area, functions of gangwarp, and so on and so forth.)
If they would add the ability to drop out of warp 25 , 50 and 100km short of destination it would enliven strategy by tenfold.
The current "lets all warp into a barfight" limitation is crude, at best.
When anybody (and I suppose pirates in particular) have to contend with the possibility of attackers warping in at a SAFE point (for the attacker, free of lagged containers, mines and other garbage) and letting loose a long-range barrage , well, guess what?
Game on.
Its not fool-proof, it doesn't stop piracy, it just requires better teamwork on both sides and the application of some strategy and tactics.
Can hardly see any reason for complaint.
